Interesting solutions, looks like a great shop to work in, lots of tools and well organized 👍. I am certain my bike will have this problem with the bottom bracket drive side, so helps to see it addressed ahead of time. And the headmount camera is a great angle! It really helps us see how the work is done.
At 6:55 The replacement bottom bracket shown here is of the best because being the lightest : composed of an axle, two replaceable bearings with seals Ø 16 Ø 31 x 10 and an aluminium tube.
That wrench brand is mid. Had a few slips with it lately, especially the big ones that leave your axle nuts scraped up. Not the move for these kinds of repairs.
Liquid Wrench or PB Blaster before you start and it would have probably came right off. The only thing that usually really gets stuck is the pedals. I heat with a torch then spray with PB Blaster. If I still can't get loose I put a wrench on it and hold pressure against it then use an air hammer with a flat punch on the petal thread to jolt it loose.
I want to know that too. I tried with 20cc syringe with the needle came with it but it's too hard to push. maybe the grease I used is too dense or the needle too small.
Hello, my friend. I use an ordinary syringe from a pharmacy, instead of a needle, a nozzle for glue or flux, which can be found in tool stores or on Chinese marketplaces
heat works better when the frame has a bigger thermal expansion material, if both are carbon steel they a expande equally; aluminum expands 3x more than steel
this type of bottom bracket is crap. Not sealed at all and hard to unscrew. I've been servicing one of these cheap bikes recently and the bearings were completely dead, the axle was worn drastically. Won't touch any of these in future anymore :D
Curious, why didn't you tap and face the BB just to be sure it would rotate well? You did all the other work including ultrasonic cleaning, plus you did leave some file marks on the bb shell when you were creating your flats.
Why don't you have a 36mm bottom bracket wrench? That adjustable wrench isn't doing you any favors with the tapered sides. A JA Stein BB fixed cup tool would have this out in about 60 seconds.
In this case, the bike has a not-so-common outdated bottom bracket with a very small protrusion for the tool. We have a wrench, but it could no longer do the job
Adjustable wrenches do slack off under tension, so having the correct flat wrench tool really does help. You'd still bind it with washers with stuck cups to maintain your grip and not gall your tool, but it would make your life easier and improve the security of the tool when sandwiched on.
Such tasks are very rare in the workshop, as it is not economically feasible. But if someone wants to upgrade their bike, then of course we will record it on video
it depends if frame has hole on some positions where water can enter then is good to have hole on bottom, but if there is not such places, if frame is "sealed", no need for that hole, and in this frame all dirt and water came through bearing and thread of bb
Why do I continue to watch these videos? The bottom bracket was not seized, not a drop of corrosion in sight. The correct tool would have taken that out in minutes.
Could you please use a tripod to keep the camera steady while filming? For me, watching footage from a moving camera feels unsettling and can even make me feel dizzy.
Thank you for your comment. Some scenes are shot on a tripod, some on handheld, and some in first person. Not everything can be shown, especially up close with a static camera
Hack Mechanic Channel. With all the knowledge on the net I suspect you could do better by doing some research into proper technique and using the proper tools for the job. Ouch.

They make locking adjustable wrenches that reduce the likelihood of slipping so you wouldn't need that washer jig. Crescent makes a decent one.
It's better to just never buy a bike with this type of bottom bracket 😂.
@@NiceBikeService Exactly. Bad engineering. No kind of tapered square at all for me.

Good fight against this bottom bracket, and another victory! 😅

My brother can you please please tell me what syringe and needle you are using for the grease application 🙏🏻

@@pocketgearJust make sure to use a vaseline for this type of application, not the one used in bearings. The one on the video does not seem to be OK.

I used the M16 bolt trick too undo the left hand bearing cup 😊

I get it. But not having that $20 wrench just cost you an hour plus of time that you could've done another tune-up.

BEAUTIFUL JOB
What's the green jelly? Lubricant grease? Special? To make it slippery? Why?
Lubricant/grease will make the fastening smoother and protect the thread from rust and hopefully from getting stuck again
🤔 parece ser Graxa Shimano ou da Motorex
This is a calcium-based grease. Such cutter joints must be lubricated to prevent re-jamming, you have been answered correctly in the comments😊.
what brand is that green lubricant? thanks
🤔 parece ser Graxa Shimano ou da Motorex.
It is a calcium-based Greace, the manufacturer is not important, because then it would be an advertisement😉
Nice save!!

Hot water, add lemon juice fresh or not, or just lemon acid. Leave for a day, it will dissolve rust.
chytit misku do sveraku a otočit celým ramem......větší páka😊

you need to drill a hole in the bottom of the frame so that moisture and dirt can drain
But then the same moisture can get into this hole
@@NiceBikeService yes, if you drive straight deep , but it will dry faster than without a hole

tip: drop some kerosene oil to the thread/joint and leave for few minutes and you'll be able to remove it without all that hassle.
A job for the Campy BB tool.
There are probably no tools for such a rare BB😆
Bro... at least wipe off the dirt before doing any repair/maintenance. 😅

you can also try the dry ice
