What a great crossing! Very much reminds me of East Farleigh and Littlehaven before they were upgraded as it has the wigwags! I certainly love how you can predict the presence of a train with the signallers too! Wasn't great that it was really windy and cold when I filmed here though as the alarm seemed rather quiet and I couldn't feel my hands after filming! Fabulous video again! 👌🏻
Great video! Looks like the signaller doesn't hang out in the signalbox unless a train is due, given how the lights in it were out at the start of the video.
Thanks! Yes, Network Rail turn up on request when there's a train due, so the signal box is not always manned. Quite handy for knowing when this crossing is due to activate.
There are controls in the box which turn the lights and alarm on/off. I believe a token exchange system is used for this freight line so a token is also changed here
Is this place near the "Isle" of Grain by any chance? Because I think on a clear day I can actually see the Isle of Grain in the distance from Tankerton seaside, Whitstable.
@@UKLevelCrossingsChannel Wickenby LC in Lincolnshire has manned gates and that still has halogens! (They are planning to replace the rather messed-up gates with new ones with LEDs though)

Thanks 😎 Glad I finally filmed it and completed the Grain Branch, albeit in the dark but I think it's still a good video

Excellent video
Thanks very much 😁
Wow this was posted on my birthday 😮😱
I presume the operator also controls signals for the crossing, as well as the lights and gates?

Yes. The town of Isle of Grain is just a couple of miles up the road from this crossing. The whole industrial port surrounds the crossing itself.
Yes it is. It's confusingly called Grain or Isle of Grain, but I think it's best known as 'Grain'. You probably could on a clear day.
>crossing with alarms
>manual gated
It’s not that weird, is it?
It's pretty rare in the UK since 99% of crossings have lifting barriers with lights and not manual gates with lights.
Awesome!
Thank you 😁
Are they halogens on the gates?
No, I think they're the standard LEDs

Is that a LMS upper quadrant home signal?
Yes I do believe it is 😊
I SAW JOE WALK PASS TALKING
Yeah, he met me for a few days
Lol now I will do Roblox Level Crossing videos (I am DylanTheInfinite btw)
Ah I see, nice name 🙂
@@UKLevelCrossingsChannel Thanks
Just gimme her job and nobody needs get hurt.
Yeah haha 😂
I Hope they have toilets in the signal box
I don't think so, as this signal box isn't manned 24/7. It's only used to close the crossing and exchange tokens when a train is due.
Good movie. Choo choo 🚂🚋🚃🚋🚃🚋🚃🚋🚃🚋🚃🚋
Thanks! 🚅🚅🚂🚂
