Amazing it worked as well as it did with the tiny antenna. It's one of the most underrated/unknown engineering achievement in Nasa/JPL history. The need to launch it on the shuttle (to justify it) kept it in storage for a long time after the Challenger grounding. Which bearings and lubrication wasn't designed for. Which is thought to be the reason the antenna didn't unfold.
! TIME HAS RUN OUT !! John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Don't ignore this message... REPENT NOW !! TRUST that God raised Him from the dead !! By FAITH accept JESUS's blood alone as payment for your sins unto Salvation, to escape what's about to happen !!
@1:20:20, love ya Carl, call me "wooden", but this planet came from God. It's a gift. All "scientists" seem to think in numbers only, and squirm in their seats at the thought of spirit. It is just as fascinating for Earth to be the only place with "life", as is this obnoxious obsession with "are we alone?", "we're not alone!", "are we alone?". Scientists are so smart, yet stupid enough to believe the universe, and "life" created itself. Just look at the complexity of the eyeball. For all species. Yeah..., that just created itself, on it's own. Or the relative sizes of the Earth, Moon and Sun enabling dramatic eclipses for all the world to see. Just the right size. Yeah...,that just happened on it's own.
M.R.-That was just one example. My point was, did the universe and life create itself? Remember, I love Carl Sagan. Watched Cosmos when it came out, before they lost half the music when it left PBS. Replacement music just doesn't have the same mood as original.
Scientists don't "believe". Quite contrary to you. They also never ever claim to know "the truth" (and insult people with different opinions). Also quite contrary to you. Only religious fanatics and conspiracy theorists do that. That makes them scientists and you a joke (or troll) . "They" are also not just "they", but a lot of very different people with very different opinions between themselves. Which they argue and challenge constantly. That's called science. Amen. And of course the old conundrum ... The universe can "not possibly have created itself", .... just as statement with absolutely no explanation or argument why not, But the creator just could create himself?! Of course also with no explanation. If he(?) can create himself, so can life/the universe. If the universe can't, neither can god. You can not justify/deny the one without the other. This "argument" famously kills itself. It also doesn't even qualify as a theory because it requires "believe" to start with . It has no foundation in observation which science demands. And of course² why would a "creator" waste this whole universe to create something like us? Not a good job in any case.
@@5Andysalivefirst off, i am not a religion fanatic. far from it. and yes i can justify one without the other. your response equates a creator and its creation. typical boast. if one then why not the other? any creator is far more complex and capable than any of its creations, and yet you give them equal ability. yes it does require belief. but wait...scientists believe in string theory and entanglement! entanglement has got to be the most ridiculous crap ever "thought of". clear across the universe a particle flips exactly...believe what you will, you are created.
Apparently you unware that his predictions was spot on ...20 plus years now we have a large catalog of exsoplanets we have discovered and many more being found daily
M.R.- I agree, worlds all around. My point was, it would be just as amazing to me, if there is no other life in the universe. I just get tired of constantly hearing, "are we alone?" on all the space shows. (BTW- how do you feel about the Moon Hoax people? been fighting the good fight on the 'tube with all the NASA haters. When I grew up in the 60s, we all supported NASA and wanted to be astronauts. Today I can't believe how many people eagerly and gleefully trash them.)
Dec 3, 2015! Almost 20 years to the day. We miss you so much Carl!!! All worlds, all times.

Thanks for sharing this. Never got to see it when it happened.
With not even 20 hours of footage available on UA-cam wherein Carl Sagan discusses science, there is a giant hole in my heart.
This was the final mission that Dr. Carl Sagan presided over, one year later he died of cancer.
time wasn't wasted at all, love watching science, thank you
1:21:49 By Jove that's precision
👍👍👍
Wow, it only took an hour for Carl to show up -- no false advertising or wasted time here....

Getting a connection to the guys in the telephone room seems to be harder than transmitting to Jupiter.

No, that's unproven myth and fantasy. Unless you have any sort of evidence? No? Ok then.
