    In WI you can hunt up to Dec 6th in the southern zone and Dec 14th in the open water areas. Most areas are iced out by then. Moving it back would just take away a week of hunting. I suppose they could move opener back a week and you would get 60 days on a warm year and 53 on a normal year.

    From the great Northwest public duck blind, this would be hard to do here in the Northwest. we get to hunt from October 13 to January 29, so we are really lucky here God bless from Oly

    I think we are closer to a 45 day season in the Midwest than a 90 day season in the near future. If you think a 90 day season wouldn’t be as much hunting pressure because only diehards are out there you haven’t hunted Missouri and Arkansas in December/ early January with empty skies. There would be an influx of non resident hunters on the River. They would be traveling north where the birds are then chase them back south. Birds would never get the break they really need right now
