  • Welcome to my "In My Life" easy guitar lesson + tutorial by The Beatles. This is possibly one of the greatest songs ever recorded, and this lesson tries to capture everything that makes it great, while making it as easy as possible to learn. It uses one of the most iconic chord progressions, takes you through an emotional rollercoaster of musical feels and feelings, and is so good that Lennon and McCartney each take credit for writing the majority of it.

    goodguitarist....
    Throughout the video we demonstrate the chords, strumming and the lead guitar part that they play at the beginning as well as at various times throughout the tune.
    As far as the chords go, it's a mixed bag. There's the A, E, D, Dm, G chords, which are all pretty simple (we go over them extensively in our rhythm guitar eBook). There's also F#m, B and A/G which are barre chords and you might have to work them out a bit to get the changes perfect and clean.
    The strumming isn't so tough, and we go over a great way to make sure you're staying on the beat as we demonstrate how to play the chorus. We also take you step by step through every single strum and show you how it all lines up with the chords so you won't get lost.
    Finally, we demonstrate the lead part (I guess it's sort of an interlude, since it's used as a buffer between the two parts) and explain it in a really simple way that's very beginner-friendly.
    Aside from the barre chords this isn't such a tough song and I'm sure with a bit of practice you'll get it together in no time!
    'Til next week!
    James

      In My Life became my favorite Beatles song once I hit an "Older" age. How somebody can possibly pick a favorite Beatles song is very tough.. But age as made this song my favorite as it relates to a full life.

    hey thanks for all your work but that dam A/G i keep muting the A string with my second finger i have to use my third finger on the low e string in order not to mute the A.... i haave super long fingers so i know their must be a trick im missing to do it the same way you do (besides tons of practice) but i cant curl my second finger enough to clear the A string but my middle finger makes it work but its a fast switch and thats a slower way to do this

    Outstanding lesson James… My Mother just passed away this morning and the Song came to my mind… your lesson is really helping to sooth my Soul. Took to playing it and then I wanted to get some of the nuances down better. Thought of your lessons. You are one of the best at really looking closer at important feel through details. Thank you for helping to sooth my Soul. ❤️‍🩹

    Hi!! Beautiful clásico guitar?! What model/brand is that? it is nylon ? Congrats and many thanks

    • @Good_Guitarist
      @Good_Guitarist  7 років тому +2

      Hey Carlos! It's a "fingerstyle" model, so it's kinda halfway between classical and steel-string as far as the fretboard is concerned. It's a "crafter GAESP/N" if you're interested in the exact model. Thanks!

    There was a popular song in the 2000s that used that guitar into riff and I’ve been trying to figure out what it’s called for months now. Can anyone help me out ?
