Imagine having a delay of exactly one second so it sounds like it's fine
*paranoia increases*
I've actually had that with my stereo enhancer😅
So hear me out...
LOL
Guess why im here... 1sec delay in 1minute video ahah fuck my computer
imagine if they were evil and intentionally added a delay
Can i trust these guys?
🤣🤣
Ohhh yeah there's delay REALLY
I used this and in my realme device selected dual audio option from which I can hear music etc. In one wireless and 1 wired headphone at the same time . I used wireless on the left and wired on the right . I heard the ball tappung like
RIGHT LEFT . RIGHT LEFT . RIGHT LEFT. RIGHT LEFT!!
There is a very slight one slow down the video
Well you should be able to tell. Most people came here because there seems to be a delay in their device.
The ball bounced 3 times befor I heard anything. Think there may be a slight delay.
*s l i g h t*
yeah just a bit
make a review about the thing. i might buy it
Why is there only sound after the video?
N o ! I t ' s Y o u r E a r s T h a t H a v e D e l a y
Such a specific yet extremely useful thing. I'm glad there are people that come up with these videos for the off-chance they're needed.
You can also open a random video with people talking inside a media player like VLC and adjust the audio delay accordingly.
These kinds of test are standard for AV testing for events and stuff.
This video is so beautifully simple, yet so incredibly useful. Thank you.
TheWtfnonamez why is your profile picture Charles manson
ShadowForza Why is your profile pic also 002?
Exaclyyy
I don't have any sync issues, I'm just really high.
same here bro
Yup
same
when you're high, your brain gets sync issues
when i speeding up the video, the audio is desynichronizing from it
Imagine your heard the sound first before the ball hit to the ground...
The ball: I Am Four Parallel Universes Ahead Of You
this happened to me lol
me too
that simply means the video has delay not the audio
My headphones can tell the future
Same
This is incredibly useful, I was testing a feature on my headphones and I heard it can increase audio latency so but I thought that doesn't matter so I tested if it's even noticeable and it feels like there is no difference.
Works great. But I want a longer loop, so I can dance to it more.
Just loop it ya dingus
*George Lopez wants to know your location*
10 hours version
Even if looped there's still the start where it takes time to begin so....
right-click > loop
My bluetooth headphones according to this are synced with the video but i still feel like there's a delay whenever i watch a video or even play a game.
could be because youtube compensates for the delay but the other programs/games you try, don't
Slow it down to .25 speed (a little late sorry) to figure out the actual delay. I have roughly 50ms delay according to this so thats neat
Same
my audio technica ath m50x headphones are somehow getting audio 50ms early rather than late. which is bizarre.
@@elijah3388 Mine too but .30 ms
Used this at an event with an LED wall and Line Array. Perfectly synced the audio with video. Thank you for this
Thanks very much! Such a clear demonstration of the connection between audio and visual. Made fine tuning my receiver very easy. Appreciate it!
This is your daily dose of Recommendation
Test of audio delay
nop i actually seaf hed for it
Got recommended to me
Lol I actually searched for this
As of Dec, 2015, sync is back - no more audio lag - awesome. Only took them 5 months to fix.
no. it's still there. my phone is about half a second late for audio and I have to restart it to fix it.
Still here
Thanks otter I didn't know how to fix it but I restarted my phone and is in sync
This video is still usefull. I tested my new Bluetooth headphones, because I expected lag. Thx 4 the video man!
Hi
Still one of the most useful videos I know on the entire internet
You're amazing man this helped me with what I thought was a speaker issue, ended up confirming it was a video sync issue. I would recommend if possible having different versions if possible, or maybe even 1... 1/2... 1.... 1/2.... 1... 1/2... this way we can confirm it's not just a 1-sec delay. But that's just me being nitpicky, thanks for the vid!!! It's really appreciated.
Tip for using this: Scroll down a bit until the bouncing ball is no longer visible but the white moving bars still are, then listen and try to sense which yellow bar seems to be "causing" the audio tick when it's crossed by a white bar. This will give you the audio delay down to the tenth of a second (1 tenth of a second = 100ms).
Wow that works really well. ty
Late to the party but I now needed a lag test and the ball looked so easy but due to the bouncing ball my brain got a bit confused as to when the sound should click, lol. Your little trick helps a LOT! So simple but effective :D
Dud im watching on ma phone
@@Darewic then you can easily use something like a piece of paper or your hand to block everything apart from the bars at the bottom
Way better. Thank you.
You guys never fail to amaze with the effort you put in to your kick ass videos. It's perfectly in sync on my LG Optimus F6
Thank you for this. I was worried my recicer had a delay but this shows it's fine. Pretty relaxing to watch too.
One of the most useful videos on UA-cam, thank you.
Thanks for all the feedback! Seems like about 15% have the late audio problem, mostly with Firefox. No sync issues on Vimeo using any browser/platform, so it's definitely a UA-cam issue.
dayjoborchestra could always upload to vimeo and allow file downloads or something like that
Sorry for the lack of Apple Juice! Please let us know how the audio/video sync is for you!
dayjoborchestra The blue piano is syncing perfectly with the cheddar cheese, I want apple hash, APPLE JUICE HASH.
dayjoborchestra Fuck a fruit basket.
dayjoborchestra This seemed to work fine, but I have recently noticed problems on other youtube videos on both my phone and PC. I've had a problem with the audio playing normally at first, then skipping back a few seconds, but the video continues to run normally. Usually, reloading the page fixes it.
dayjoborchestra we need a 60 fps version
+dayjoborchestra Totally fine, thanks for asking!
This is extremely useful! I use it to confirm my sound system is synced with the computer. Thank you :)
Thanks! Got my first wireless headphones today and this video was perfect for it, virtually no delay.
Well, everything was in sync for me.
I also fully support fruitbaskets.
That’s not very nice :^(
@@kaylareid6160 lol
This is perfect! I will be using this video non stop to test latency for my digital audio via spdif configs!
Thanks heaps for this, you've honestly probably saved collective hours/days of peoples time
So simple yet so useful, respect.
Thanks for this video!
Really nicely done, could just be a little batter if it were 60fps too
This is honestly so useful, thank you so much!
Thank you, I thought I was going crazy there for a moment.
Audio is a little early for me, and gets worse after I use the seek bar. Starts off at about a 10th of a second, then gets up to about 2 10ths of a second. I'm on Chrome HTML5.
I don't know why i clicked this video but i do not regret it.
i like this test, i use my pc for all types of content and have a hifi connected to it.
i was worried about latency so i did a search and found this great video :)
no latency here, i have a high refresh monitor so happy that my audio gear was keeping up. i added so many dac's and sound processing units(minidsp shd studio).
I think i have a super power of making anything funny for myself. I just watched this video and started laughing hysterically when i thought about it.
The sync was fine for me in Chrome.
Now i wait for more Styrofoam Nuns.
I came here like 50 times and this is the first time I’m happy
Such a useful tool, thanks for uploading!!!
If you close your eyes and open it only when you hear the sound you see the perfect audio delay of your bluethoot earphones, or 0 delay (in my case) of cable earphones. Thanks @dayjoborchestra this video is useful!
Most helpful video on UA-cam?
Thank you, used to test my new wireless Corsair headset because I was worried about latency. Works great!
I can just watch this all day.
make a 10 hour version or i cry
then cry
Dumb vacuous comments
Just put it to looped
note: depending on if you're using bluetooth audio, this video may not work for calculating delay due to youtube automatically compensation for bluetooth audio delay (if there is any delay between pressing play/pause when listening to a song)
Yeah about to comment that
too well, apparently. On UA-cam I'm getting sound before the image.
trans lol gross
i needed to test my new JBL bluetooth headset and i got just a slight delay, not even a 10th of a second so im very happy, thanks for this video, simple but so handy, cheers from Sweden!!
Thank you for creating this
i dont understand. why my cheap chinese brand bluetooth headset was sync with this video. but my expensive as hell earbud was out of sync
i still can't find the solution
Higher quality audio requires more processing probably. Try going in bluetooth settings, and disabling "HD audio" or "AAC" to see if it gets better. You can enable it when listening to music and disable it while looking at yt videos
I have airpod 2 ... They don't show latency ....
Same stuff
omg same
I need to activate game mode to give low latency,, without it,, the delay is crazy
Audio is about 3 10ths of a second late from our end.
dayjoborchestra Works fine for me, with FF developer edition, version 40.0a2, and forced html5 playback. I love your videos btw.
Thank you for creating this video
This video allowed me to appreciate a difference in response and ghosting in a triple monitor system. Thanks to the creator
yeah yeah yeah now ive got a woody
i have to sit back like this
The sound comes in before the video near the end.. using Chrome on Windows 7... off by maybe 1/10ths of a second at about 50sec.
Super useful. Thanks so much!
If you're struggling to discern I recommend clicking your fingers or clapping at the bounce point for the white ball as you anticipate it, and listening to the difference between the snap and the tock.
Audio sync is working here! Chromium, Linux, Ubuntu 15.04.
Tnx for this use full tool.
Even after 5 years...this works freaking fine😮
this was a great help while calibrating my soundbar
i like the part where the ball bounced and made that sound.... that was cool....
My jaybirds i prefect sync on my mac, but on my iPhone their is over a second delay
What a useful video, thanks for uploading
exactly what I was looking for. thx
as a pong player from way back, I find this mesmerizing. Have to stop watching now.
Pov: you bought a new bluetooth earphone
That is perfect to serve the purpose, thanks!
Thanks for this! Came in handy
Worked fine with Waterfox 64bit 1080p
My Bluetooth head buds were 4 10ths of a second off
Galaxy pods?
@@imstupidbut1356 i dont think he means galaxy buds
@@Zero-dz8nx l think he meant galaxy buds cuz l have the same issue with them
Even my 20 euros haylou gt1's doesn't have any latency bruh...
@@imstupidbut1356 Try tweaking around the codec settings (if you have a Samsung phone); I used to have latency issues when I first got my GBuds, but I found that my issue was that I had the wrong codec selected; aptX works like a charm & should fix your latency problem.
Thanks a lot for this awesome idea to test bluetooth headphones.
This is Very useful, thank you!
That's odd. I tested wireless and wired. I know that my wireless connection has a big delay, this is very obvious in-game. For some reason, it seems to be spot-on in this test. I know there isn't any software interference except maybe for Chrome because the sound goes through a physical mixer, the Elgato Wave:3.
I also use the Elgato Wave 3. I just got the Focusrite, though, so that I can plug instruments into my PC, and I am trying to figure out if there is a delay with that so I know if that can be my permanent headphone spot or not. I can't tell. According to the video, the delays are about the same, but I am so used to Elgato having less delay than everything that I can't tell if its psychological or real.
Watch on 0.25x
your bluetooth firmware on pc knows the exact delay so the browser compensates ahead for it. try (un)muting/pausing a normal video
My screen or my cellphone speaker is delayed like 0.2 sec i think
Thumbs up! Just a test. Just a video. No 10 min blablablabla. Perfect. Thx
This is perfect. Thanks!
How many pandas were harmed in the making of this videogramme?
Feliz de que mis audífonos inalambricos están a toda madre jajaj
Que suerte, los míos creo que están retrasados por un cuarto o medio segundo, aunque es mi culpa por comprar unos baratos :v
Incredible test. thanks
this video helped, i was watching earlier some videos and the audio felt off, like it was playing in an empty room, i checked if it's just the video, nope, watched this one and sure enough, it's the earphones
Set the speed of the video : (0.25) to be able to know more accurately
Is it wrong that I felt compelled to say "Jimmy. Johnny. Happy." With every bounce of the ball?
Take your meds
Simple but super useful. Easy to calculate delay from the moving dash at the bottom.
Yep, my tick sounds on the marker two 1/10ths of a second before the ball visibly hits it, so my video lags my audio by about that much. What's annoying is the system doesn't seem to provide basic settings to intentionally lag either audio or video output.. I can add the required lag to audio on VLC player so that a video is realigned with the premature audio, but an overall system lag for everything including games and browser streaming would be more useful.
Great test!
Yeah fuck trap i'm into this now, i'm really feeling it
That's worth taking out my hand for.
Alexander Oushakoff OMG, LOL!!
wtf, beat off xd
what a great video, very helpful. thank you
Testing with a brand new set of JBL Free X earbuds. There's like zero audio lag! This is a HUGE improvement over the old pair I returned 8 months ago haha those had absolutely horrible lag.
I can see no sync issues in Chrome or Firefox at all. However, I've been using the HTML5 player on UA-cam for ages and have never had any problems. MP4, 720p video.
Edit: No issues in IE 11 on a Windows 8.1 laptop. The Chromium browser and latest Firefox also show no problems on the same laptop.
Edit 2: No sync issues on a Samsung 550C Chromebook either. Note that this particular machine has only a Celeron 1.3 Ghz processor with 4 GB of RAM. Yes, it doesn't have the overhead of Windows and such, it just runs Chrome OS, but still, audio is perfectly fine.
I'm thinking it must be something on your end. I get that you see the issue on multiple PCs and browsers, but I can't reproduce it on any of my boxes.
This is actually extremely useful. Try closing your eyes and pausing on the clicks, and then check the latency. I get around 200ms with my bluetooth earbuds still, damnit.
Humans have the reaction time of about 150ms-200ms. The touchscreen on your phone probably has similar if not more delay than your bluetooth earbuds. This isn't an accurate way of measuring headphone delay.
Most helpful video on UA-cam
didnt know test can be done on youtube. freaking amazing.
I have less than 1/10 of a second of delay. Just enough to make everything off, but not enough where it's a big issue. Still really irritating though.
I discovered Explorer syncs until I click the timeline to jump ahead or back - then the audio lags. Firefox audio is always late. Conclusion: HTML5 sucks panda.
dayjoborchestra dude.. your browser or computer must suck.. HTML5 is way more efficient at video, and UA-cam has been running HTML5 for quite sometime now, been a subscriber for years and been watching your videos in HTML5 with no issues whatsoever. Firefox is a shit browser :P
wangage Me & Mike tried it on a few browsers & a few different computers - most have an audio delay. My comp is super fast i7. I get perfect sync on IE until I click the timeline, so it's not a computer issue.
dayjoborchestra I get no desync on Mozilla Firefox 37.0.2 and on Internet Explorer 64-Bit 8.0.7600.16385. Have you guys tried different internet connections in different houses? Could be that one line or the modem. Either way, wish you luck with sorting it out.
dayjoborchestra Pandas are vicious. I should know.
dayjoborchestra Firefox w/ HTML5 here and audio was perfectly synced the whole video.
Now this, this is an amazingly wonderful addition to yout ube that keeps getting referenced.
thank you.
Thanks a lot, really helpful to set up bluetooth speakers & headphones!
I'm here because I'm having sync issues again
That moment when you have 10ths of a second of delay
Thanks!
I thought my headphones were out of Sync but it turns out it was just whoever made the video.
This video I a gosh darn useful tool. I use it all the time for sync issues in my stupid jank voice meeter OBS setup. Thank you kind stranger.
Men this fake Chinese AirPods are good
