    Being from Syria, I really appreciate your interest in our forgotten country because western media only shows 12 years of conflicts rather than thousands of years before that .. my country is one of the oldest human settlements on Earth with numerous civilisation and amazing food.. But yeah .. As you said, we strongly feel that our voices -as people- are not heard, especially after the earthquake and seeing people focus on turkish victims as if we deserve the death because we don't have blonde hair and colorful eyes .. and that what makes people around the world consider us ALWAYS like refugees eventhough we have doctors, engineers, professors and so .. not only in Syria but in every country we reach to, we try to modify the image about us but everyone still discriminates us .. Finally, as you said Thomas, Hope is our own weapon... Now, I study medicine here and I have a beautiful dream that i hope to achieve in the future .. i wish that my dream happens ❤❤😊

      Well let's be honest... how many Syrians would help if that happened in Europe...? You should turn on your government to make that place decent and not dependent on outside help. Not even talking, that Syrian refugees commit a lot of crimes compared to their numbers in Europe, so there is a story behind your "discrimination" and why people simply don't want to help you, if your citizens doing harm in countries they were accepted to... There are a lot of decent Syrians, who want just a better life, and follow the rules and guidelines of the countries they emigrated to, yet the image is shattered by the high criminal activity of other Syrians who won't follow the law and that is the problem, coz people generalize all people from that country and it is quite hard not to.

      @@vlads.3192No habibi .. Syrians are like the other immigrant groups if not being less criminals because they are afraid of being deported and going back to Syria .. France and the UK are so unsafe countries in crime index for a long time before syrian immigration to Europe in 2015 and the cause is the other ethnicities not us .. people discriminate us because of western media that shows only the stereotype about arabs and muslims to be poor and terrorists and deserving to death.. If your information was true, believe me none of the european countries would host us .. never .. but they want labour force and those "syrian criminals" you have mentioned do not represent even 1% of Syrian immigrants .. but let's be honest, you are such a racist .. nothing more

    1:18 The reason why South Korean, Japanese, Singaporean banks won't do any business with Syria is because of OFAC. The U.S. Dep't of Treasury has deemed countries like Syria, Iran, Afghanistan, Cuba, N.Korea, Venezuela, and Russia as hostile nations, and the U.S. gov't imposes sanctions on any companies in third countries that do business with these designated countries. This is why the U.S. dollar MUST lose its status as the World's Reserve currency.
    In the case of countries like Japan and S.Korea, since they're vassal states of the American Empire, their only option is to comply.

    As a syrian, thank you for shedding light on the reality of our country. When my friends and I see any foreigner, we get so excited and fascinated by their presence because it's surreal, like an alien visiting our world, in a good way. I hope you keep the syrians in your hearts, we truly just need a hand held out to us and we will strive. all love to you guys at Asian Boss :)

    I respect them for going to "dangerous" places in order to meet the real people that live there. The dangers are very real though.
    There are stories of tourists and such being killed. Some people there assume that westerners must have money and attempt to kidnap.
    Of course Thomas is doing an objectively good thing by going to these places and spreading a little more harmony between different peoples but I worry personally and it's not based on the media's general outlook. I've been to places like Romania and Bulgaria which also have a poor reputation but I didn't find them sketchy really. My worries are founded on the hundreds of [typically] westerners that go there naively with good intentions only to be friendly with the wrong people and end up reading a prepared statement infront of a camera.
    Often the people from the outside don't see the dangers. My hometown in the UK is very crime ridden and when you know what to look for, interms of criminality it's very hard to relax when you're outside. However if you weren't from the area you probably wouldn't identify the same red flags as the local people. And I think this is very true for these so called "dangerous" countries like Syria, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan etc

    • @Wizard-pw8yo
      @Wizard-pw8yo 11 місяців тому +1

      where can you look up red flags for UK towns?

    • @flammenjc
      @flammenjc 11 місяців тому

      Reliably? You can't. It's local to the area, they know the local crime family or whatever, who is connected to who, all that kind of crap that mere wanderers don't have any knowledge of.@@Wizard-pw8yo
      The only way you could find that kind of information is to really ask someone who is street-smart, local to the area.
