Afraid not. You delete all of Okinawan history with that statement and I will select from the origin before I will consider a copy cat. No practitioner on mainland Japan qualifies as they ALL have corrupted karate, the classical art of Okinawa.
The number 2 - Mas Oyama - if there was ever a person better suited to the style and creedo of the karate they created I simply don't know. Talk about the hard man of karate - in his prime I don't think there was anyone in the world who could stand up to him and his blows. The bit were he was sparring with five black belts and took each out with single blows look farcical, but those guys train so hard and have bodies of steel - you really wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of any of those blows that looked more like flicks - but no one not at the pointy end of blows would understand the power this incredible master could deliver. I think all his board, stone and ice breaking exploits pretty much remain unbroken. System or style can't really over come the insane level of power he could deliver with pin point accuracy. I think a fifth dan student of his (Dan Inasanto) once said even sparring with him - if you blocked you got severely bruised and if you didn't whatever he hit - it broke!
