I have ADHD, depression, and anxiety. I have been through so much messed up shit that has left me with a lot of trauma. I was born with scoliosis, knot knees, pigeon toes, and flat feet. It hurts to even stand for a while and it makes physical activity even harder for me. I stunted my growth because of starving myself for over a year and when I started eating normally again I gained a lot of weight. I went from physical activity being hard because I didn’t have proper energy to do it to it being hard because I have a lot more fat to deal with. I am Mexican, pansexual, and trans. I'm a huge minority. When I came out as trans my parents didn't fully accept me yet. I am a past self harmer. My first relationship was an off and on, unstable, and abusive relationship. So many things have happened without my consent. I was teased all throughout elementary which turned to bullying in 5th grade. My family was pretty poor and I used to live in the ghetto. All of this happened before becoming a freshman.

Just because it’s not a problem for you doesn’t mean it’s not for others, just because it’s not the most important problem in the world everyone’s problem is valid.
@@Obxpotterthings I'm not saying it's not a problem, I'm stating my experience and the fact that being tall isn't as bad as it was shown in the movie, it was incredibly exaggerated.
I'm sorry if you've been bullied for your height, and it may also be a difference in location that we've had different experiences.
(the two biggest things that bug me is the line "You think your life is hard?" because it really makes it seem like being tall is the worst thing that can happen to you, and it invalidates anyone else's insecurities/ problems. The second is that overcoming the "fear" of having a boyfriend shorter than you (and therefore overcoming your dislike at your height) is the main plot of the movie... I feel that approaching like this really makes tall girls feel like they SHOULD feel that their boyfriends should be taller than them. (ex: say that you are happy with your body, and you watch a movie skinny shaming and the main character needs to overcome the haters; rather than solve the problem it brings attention to it, so you're now paying attention to details you didn't think about before).
So what I'm trying to say lol, is that insecurities are insecurities, we all have them, we've all had different experiences. But movies like this (at least the way that I saw it) make the insecurities over exaggerated, and in the hopes of bringing attention to it and normalizing it, it invalidates other problems as well as possibly worsening/ creating your insecurity.

I life with a mother who is borderline insane.
Most of my romantic relationships have been toxic.
I have severe trauma.
I have no affective empathy for anyone around me.
My father is in prison.
My other step-father left.
Half of my family is in a gang rivalry with the other and me and my mother are trying to connect to the few relatives we have.
My mother refuses to listen to me and makes decisions that psychologically harm me and calls it “ mental self-care” doesn’t respect my boundaries. And guilt-trips me.
My cat ran away.
My other cat is barely allowed in the house.
I have a movement disorder.
I suffer from generalized anxiety disorder and major depressive disorder. And also severe ADHD
I almost had the cops called on me.
I’ve tried to run away numerous times.
My mother is collectively pissing off our entire collected family and forgetting how I’m apart of it.
