I have felt alone dealing with daily heart palpitations, skipped beats, tachycardia,,the occasional episode of SVT. All I have to deal is a beta blocker to help my daily fast heart rate (tachycardia). Once I had idiopathic VT.

I got diagnosed with ventricular tachycardia after passing out during a cross country meet. I was 16. After being in the hospital for two weeks I had an ablation that failed. After the second ablation it “fixed” the serious issues, although I still have some flare ups to this day, 6 years later.

I’ve actually just been diagnosed with Tachycardia...Today... I’m also 23... I had originally went to my gp about my anxiety and palpitations but after she heard a few other symptoms she had me do a Ambulatory (24hr) ECG, and so I got the results today... I was just doing some research as I didn’t understand my doctor much over the phone (covid restrictions so telephone appointments only) After watching your video, I think it’s helped me appreciate that it isn’t as bad as what you went through and how strong you are to have gotten through it! I honestly need to make changes right now before I also have to share the same story... or worse...

i am 20 & was just diagnosed with tachycardia. it’s a very isolating diagnosis. i’ve suffered from ectopic beats, shortness of breath, adrenaline rushes for years & never knew what the root cause of it was. after some testing my cardiologist told me it was tachycardia. it’s tough, everyday is a battle, but we’ll get through.

    • @alicesky2636
      @alicesky2636 3 роки тому +7

also like to add that i was diagnosed with anxiety years before my tachycardia diagnosis, everyone would tell me it was just anxiety, but i knew it was something else so if you have constant shortness of breath, light headedness, ectopic/irregular heart beat, please see a cardiologist & get the tests because it’s better to have answers to these symptoms instead of living in fear. i was prescribed a beta- blocker & have checkups with my cardiologist. :) please don’t wait to get answers if u thinks it’s something worse. our bodies know when something isn’t right.

SVT and VT are very different everyone. VT is when your ventricles beat too quick which is often life threatening and can lead to cardiac arrest. SVT is when your upper chambers (atria) beats too quick and is rarely life-threatening. VT is often life-threatening because your heart can’t completely with blood, leading to your body and brain not getting enough oxygenated blood.

I used to panic and call a friend to calm me down, but now I just pray to God and take deep breaths. I am now singing favorite church songs to stay in a happy mood. I also purposely don't look at my heart rate because seeing it go up gradually on it's own when I'm at rest freaks me out. I don't wear the Fitbit anymore. I just try to calm it down on my own if it rises. I don't know what's causing it. This is all new to me.

I'm pretty sure I have NSVT. I get runs of 2-6 really fast forceful beats randomly sometimes, but especially during intimate activity. Strange thing is, sometimes it doesn't happen even if I engauge in intimate activity multiple times a day. I actually had some really scary NSVT episodes after sprinting when I was 12 and then miraculously didn't experience them again until I was 31. I had plenty of isolated ectopics (picked up some isolated PACs on an ekg once during severe panic attack in the ER) but nothing else. Not sure why I was so lucky in my 20s but now life is basically hell. I have to live in constant fear of death and worst of all, if I have a panic attack, I will surely die. Not sure what's wrong with me tachycardia is a newer issue for me. Probably what nearly knocked me on my arse in the restroom a couple of times now. The doctor has now noted two independent episodes of tachycardia as they happened while I was searching for answers for chronic headaches and confused episodes.
Brain involvement is still my best guess, but 0 in 4 neurologists agreed with that possibility - despite clear MRI evidence showing a mild cerebral tonsil herniation.
On top of all my other confounding symptoms, I've been dealing with progressively worsening tachycardic episodes... So naturally I decided to see how people experience these. Not what I'm feeling. These people's explanations are foreign to me. My heartrate can spike over 150 and I might feel nothing at all or I might feel faint for a few minutes. Do I feel "dizzy?" No. Do I get blurry vision? No, my vision fades out instead. Of course when I nearly passed out I'd never heard of tachycardia. I instead focused on ways mitigate the side-effects of hypoxia which seem to have worked! Despite my 111BPM early today my O2 level was 99% probably because it wasn't being properly absorbed.
I can't self diagnose. I can point to research online to guide care if I feel my symptoms are not being addressed, but that's about it (and it hasn't helped at all).
2020 is shaping up to be the year when I am escorted to the ER in an ambulance. I tried preventative care and when my symptoms became too severe to function normally and regularly, I stopped working to get help... I got nothing after a seven month hiatus!
I kept on thinking what I have isn't rare I'm not that unlucky, but the more I look at my symptoms and the more I see that they don't match anything (with tests that basically prove they don't match a series of conditions from autoimmune to thyroid and including traumatic physical injury) the more I'm inevitably starting to convince myself that I'll wind up as that odd statistic in a one-off case study.
I don't know what issues that I have are purely coincidental and which will lead to a long term fix or cure, but the reality is that I've been suffering for decades already putting it off for far too long and now doctors are confused by my symptoms many seem utterly made up to them others they can see and are backed by hard evidence. All things considered it's hard to believe I made it this far.
If my tachycardia gets worse the doctor tells me to go to the ER and get a cardiac evaluation. My heart rate is actually normal now, I can hear my heartbeat so I know if it's too high. My ears also bleed that's why I started going to see doctors over 5 years ago. I foolishly assumed that was caused by distant past head injuries but apparently "that's not possible" and without any recent head trauma my ear bleeds are still unexplained. I thought it could've been the headsets I use, but I went without wearing headsets for months at a time to see if my ears would stop bleeding... They didn't.
I put my life on hold and I have nothing to show for it. This is probably the closest thing to stress I've ever felt or maybe it's anger that I'm felling right now?

I have similar issues! Have you looked into POTS. You don't have to pass out to have it. I have it and never passed out. I started to have high heart rate episodes which brought me to ER multiple times. I then would have other symptoms that go with POTS. Over time, the tachycardia episodes became frequent. @Mohammed Jama No they diagnosed me at the hospital when my gasteritis triggered the attack ( gasteririts is an indigestion issue. high sodium and high fat and high acidic foods can cause an attack ) after the last episode I had ( which lasted 3 hours) they had to use a medicine called adenosine. Scary medicine cause it makes u feel like ur gonna pass out. Other than that they stopped my heart and reset it. After that they told me I needed surgery I cried about it the first few days then the day before yesterday I was excited for the surgery my heart always pounded out of my chest and I have asthma so it really didint help at all. I felt an svt attack coming. Gladley it waited till I got to the hospital they did the surgery and they solved it !!! it was the best surgery ever no pain you van take tyeonal no other medicine cause of the blood thinning. I have suffered from VT for most of my life. I have had 4 open heart surgeries and about 80 catheter ablations in the past 25 years. in my last go around with it, i went into a VT storm (sustained Ventricular rhythm in excess of 270 bpm) that caused me to be shocked over 60 times in a row both internally and externally. I was pronounced dead 5 times that night. It took the better part of a week to stabilize me, at which point I was medevac'd from CA to University Hospital in Chicago where I underwent a DaVinci procedure along with a standard catheterization to re-ablate an old scarring site. I have been relatively free of prolonged VT episodes for the last 7 years. The moral is, it can and will get bad at some point, very bad...but you can survive if you fight. Drug therapy is not the way, only ablations can save you particularly in the younger patient cohort.

That is incorrect info or at least my case, I have suffered the last 4 years with none sustained v-tach and multifocal PVCS I had a ICD fitted September 2019, thankfully it’s never fiRed, my main symptom was the PVCs , after trying many different types of beta blockers a calcium channel blockers which didn’t work, I went to see a electrophysiologist who recommended Flecainide which thankfully got rid of 90% of my ectopics, my electrophysiologist said if the Flecainide stops working we can try a catheter ablation but it’s not going to be straightforward because my PVCs are multifocal.

Rob Oddly enough, Im post-svt attack as of right now. It usually happens to me during night time. It would start off as a panic attack, waking you up from sleep then it would go into svt attack. Imagine waking up to a loud noise and your heart will naturally go ballistic but there is no noise and your heart just continuously going crazy. Your arms and limbs feels clammy, fuzzy? And warm/cold, your breathing feels hundred times heavy. Your stomach might feel like it is churning. Your throat feels as if it is closing up on you and your start to feel light headed. I usually just do coughing and maneuvers. Tonight i couldn’t calm myself down so apparently dunking your face in cold water works :p Post-svt, i get terrible shakes and tremors. Although i look forward to having those because thats when i know the svt attack is done. You also feel extremely tired and just fatigue.
It is such an awful experience :( i’ve gone through more attacks than usual recently, probably because of mental stress. Hope this helps!
