as an american... i love her dancehall music, her accent, and authenticity. Not only that, i understand patois a lot better and can reply in small phrases. I really hope she doesn't ditch it completely however... i am excited to see her grow as an artist and dip into other genres🥰

Shenseea is very eloquent about her music decisions and goals, I love that. She has always been very upfront about the fact that dancehall is not the be all end all for her. I get that people are use to her in a certain way, but she has all the right to go towards the sound and genre she really wants. I wish her all the best!
I just don't understand Sheneesea reasoning about doing Dancehall because people don't understand half of Afrobeats,, Amapanio and Reggaeton but it's still doing numbers and people still listening. It weird that we go into other people culture to present the same thing that they're getting, they don't want that and that reflects in the numbers.
The real reason is that Jamaicans are not welcoming her fishy ways in Dancehall. Plus it seems as if she just want to be in America culture since she always imitate them

I think Shenseea and her management team are not open to constructive criticism. They are not taking the perspective of fans into consideration and that's a huge factor in the music industry. I think a lot of artists forget that they have a "music career" because they have "fans"... Nothing is wrong with wanting to transition into another genre but it's the approach that you take. Instead of doing multiple interviews that confuses her fans even more. A great marketing idea would be to film a mini-documentary showing her fans the process of how she got started and where she's at now. This would've allowed her to showcase your transition in a more authentic and genuine way.
@@BlasianLynn It’s constructive criticism. I don’t think Shenseea owes her fans anything, and I don’t think Shenseea’s fans owe her anything either. But at the end of the day, music careers are a two-way street. Artists make the songs and fans listen to them, the more fans listen, the more an artist can grow their career. It’s naive to think that someone breaking into a new market with a new musical identity doesn’t have to make her core fans understand the new direction through effective marketing and media communication. People know her as "Dancehall Shenseea" and she wants to move into pop music so her team should have ideally developed a marketing and promotion strategy that would have allowed her to re-introduce herself to her core fans as well as introduce herself to those who could potentially be her new listeners.

A lot of artists use the music industry to get to where they want to go, they give it a few years then they move on to something else shenseea is no different. Jamaicans need to stop hating on this young lady she has a good team behind her and they all know what they're doing trust the process you guys are going to be surprised .

I love her talent and only can mourn her switch to this pop dream. She says that she wants anybody to understand her, but that is it really so good? Music is not only about lyrics but also flow, quality of voice, rhytm, beat. IMHO, dancehall is Shenseea's arena, she shines there. In pop, you are avarage.

I don’t know why so many hateful comments about American this or that a lot of American love & support dancehall and their artist! I can’t help but to notice how some Caribbean folks seem to talk down about Americans but truth is if the artist want to move around and work outside of their country or original artistry that’s fine too! I live in a city where the Caribbean culture is heavy in my community and I don’t hate! I love the different cultures & music let these people do what they want and stop making everything so much about this & that! Music is supported by all types of people! It’s ok to get the American money though!! I’m just so tired of seeing these sly American comments lol….

When did she transition to POP? What did I miss? She’s had been signed to interscope since 2019. She still cannot drop a solo song and chart on billboard alone. None of her collabs broke into the US market the way her label needed them to or were they monster hits. She hasn’t found that crossover sound or a song.
