People forget its TF and not the Golden Pineapple cup. Sadly ego > ability is a common issue no matter how many wheels. It gets seriously dangerous when the bikes and cars are mixed up though.
It's simply that mate if it showed up on the rear view mirror just move! A couple of months ago I rented a Swift from you guys at R4R (Highly recommend to anyone reading this) and a biker just under the bridge in the beginning overtook me and did a wheelie and by the end of the straight I was already on his tail again. He did some weird moves on next few turns because he didn't want a swift to pass him... Can't deny, it was slightly dangerous
I have done MANY funlaps on the GP track on Scooter at Scooter-Weekend It is faily fun with a competent "Roller" (I have been on the podium three years in a row during 24H scooter racing) But luckily. I didn't have to bother with cars when we drove there. And last time I drove there (a few years back) I was glad there was only few bikes around. Cars and Bikes just have different capabilities. And ideally. You need to be a biker, to be allowed to drive a car around bikers.
I’m sure I’m not alone in wishing that the riders left a little bit more room while passing slower traffic. I was on a mixed GP session on Saturday and numerous times left room for a motorcyclist to overtake only to see them pop up seemingly centimetres from my front bumper. It’s rather disconcerting and worrying to think that if they’re that low and that close and fall off I wouldn’t be able to react in time to stop the car from going over the top. Personally I think that motorbikes and cars are incompatible from a mechanical and mindset point of view and shouldn’t be sharing a racetrack. There were enough bikers and cars to warrant car only and bike only alternative sessions.
The theory is the TF is easy, fun and not-serious tracktime. The reality is that I find it more of a challenge than a trackday or even a raceday sometimes. Go figure.
Great video, got recommended to me via UA-cam algorithm… Anyway, I totally agree with your point of view. I visited the Nürburgring for the first time this year and was lucky enough to get a session on the GP circuit in my car…I was shocked that they allowed both bikes and cars on together as this isn’t the norm on UK track days. I also ride bikes, so I was hyper aware of bikes on the track at the same time, it just felt a bit sketchy. Good fun though… If a little intimidating for novice bikes and cars alike. I guess like you said , best advice is drop the ego and more out the way for faster vehicles whether that’s bikes or cars. 👍🏼
Simple - if something faster appears in your mirror move over let it past when safe and carry on. no enjoyment lost and safer for all. I love TF GP sessions
Its only incompatible.when the inexperienced run out spare mental capacity. That so many view this as incompatible justbsows whatba high percentage of track users are either unable ti adapt to conditions or are not as experienced as they think. And I say.pilots... because it appears drivers and riders appear to be.just as bad as each other at anticipation and planning at speed.... is it really so hard to fathom low exit speed but harder braking v looks narrow but isnt? Turns out yeah... most of us can't do it.
Terrible idea to mix cars and bikes. I have been on tracks where sidecars and bikes were mixed, that was also a very bad idea and was stopped after some incidents. With cars it is so easy to have a fatal, a car run over a rider and it's done, stupidity.

Mixed traffic is the forbidden fruit.
@@btgmoto the forbidden koolade one could say 😑

TF is just the wild west of track time. I still love it tho
