The older I get, "good enough- is good enough". I don't sweat the little stuff near as much. It is a conscience effort, but I now choose the people close to me over my perfectionism.
On the other hand, my need for logic has grown to insanity levels. My need for alone time has become self-isolation. The older I get, the more I learn- the less I want any part of society. I am not a people fan- and yet I'm cursed to be one.

We INTJs have a gift of razor sharp thinking that can cut through complication, confusion, and chaos. Trying to moderate how we think or speak is exhausting, and feels dishonest. Accommodating other folks insecurities or bad practices is a guaranteed way to diminish my own strength. Maybe the world can think of us like salt….a critical ingredient in the right amount.

    • @INTJRECLUSE
      @INTJRECLUSE Рік тому +7

Presumably, your an INTJ? If so, maybe these are 2 reasons: I will add a few more later if you are a INTJ
number 1 on the list: you are not shy or timid about telling the brutal undiluted truth. That is something I've found in myself that intimidates pretty much everyone who is not a part of my inner circle of friends. They think they are always the target of brutal honest truth when I talk to them even if what I said doesn't necessarily apply to themand seem to feel like I am attacking them personally. As far as that goes, all I say to that is "if the shoe fits, wear it"
Number 2: you likely use sarcastic comments to call out crap, mock people who are stupid or foolish, or whatever the case may be, but at the same time you have a good sense of humor, but it is sarcastic as well I have said things sarcastically in different contexts many times while keeping a poker face attempting to be lighthearted or easygoing in my way, and then afterwards found from a mutual friend that they thought I was dead serious and that I was unbelievably rude, cold-hearted, and callus! My friend told me when we were discussing the matter that when we first met and started doing things together, he was often blown away and shocked by things I'd say until he learned to look for the underlying meaning of what I said; only then did he find my sarcasm, jokes, and comments to be humorous like I intended.
Another point that I could elaborate on that is a huge factor there is "arguing" properly termed "debating" if it comes from a INTJ, OR INTP but I'll cut this short for now.

As an INTJ, I can say that people's opinion of me doesn't bother me very much. But probably they might think I'm a little aloof from society because I have a small social circle in real life, I often spend time alone and I like it that way. But probably the main thing that makes me strange to others is that I myself don't take many people seriously: their weird and silly jokes, over-emotionality, etc.
P.S. My acquaintances and friends often tell me about my brooding or even angry face. They suggest I find a partner or somehow change and do things I don't need to do at all. I rarely pay attention to these words, but somewhere in the back of my mind I get amused when people say that.

I was never mad as they thought, I was just absorbed in my own thoughts.

My best friend and my partner are both INTJs.
I think their straight forward honesty is very disarming for someone like myself who worries and second guesses how people view me.
I have very particular things I like and dislike as well so there's no way I'd fault someone for that, it's only an issue when someone gets overly controlling and micromanage the people around them. The INTJs I've met are not like that at all but maybe an unhealthy one could act that way.
Also, just like lot of introverts, they need their alone time to decompress. When an INTJ goes out of their way to spend time with you then it's because they Want to. I think it's a good way to recognize if they value your company or not, assuming they're not swamped with responsibilities.
Oh and the way they let their inner child out when they warm up to you is so adorable. ❤
If you have a chance to befriend or even woo an INTJ I Highly recommend! Don't let the RBF put you off, they're great company and fantastic friends.

I’ve never seen myself as intimidating but when I consider people’s behaviour around me, I think they feel intimidated by my knowledge. Rarely, if at all, anyone challenges me in my field of knowledge. I feel like they think I would destroy them with arguments, which is quite possible. However I’d rather have someone challenging me because that’s an opportunity to prove that I’m right OR iron out the issues so that I am really right. Then nobody can disprove my theory as I’ve answered all challenges.

i always work on moderating my behaviors. the honesty thing is a real big one because i'd rather not say anything than bullshit someone out of "politeness".
still, i keep in mind that being honest isn't a free pass to being an asshole. i keep learning to speak my truth in a way that won't hurt other people's feelings. it's difficult and not always entirely possible to completely avoid hurting someone but i think i'd rather have people disliking me for who i am than loving a facade and then calling me a liar. i think it's easier to learn accepting/liking someone who's honest than forgiving someone who keeps lying to your face.
efficiency is a big deal for me too. i am willing to admit i was probably acting like a clown in the eyes of my classmates/peers but the teachers and later professors liked me. one time my prof gave me entire grade higher than what was i supposed to get because i helped him sort through his students' grade charts (about 60 people from different classes). the way he was doing it was taking ages because the documents were poorly sorted and he couldn't find anything. it was so funny when he got to my chart first and jokingly said out loud "lets get through miss impatient's grade first since she's in such a rush to catch her bus".

    • @wertfasd
      @wertfasd Рік тому +1

@Kapoy Yes I have the same experience as you.
I'm an INTJ-A and 2 of my coworkers are INTJ-T. True enough like you said I act more like an ENTJ (better Te and Se) versus those two INTJ-T who are more reserved.
I don't dispute the Assertive vs Turbulent idea perse but its just that I refuse to use it as part of the 16 personalities. Reason being the theory about mbti (or cognitive functions) is that its supposed to be your personality since birth and it does not change by the environment and transformations in your life (developing cognitive functions are different from the base personality and can be affected by the environment but your orignal personality stays the same).
Now the turbulent and assertive are actually you can say maturity levels such that if you gather enough experience you can become assertive from turbulent in the future and vice versa.
That's why you can say you are an INFP-T now and then 10 years has passed and you have become INFP-A. That's why I don't like the A vs T attribute as its changeable according to your current state in life (young, old, rich, poor, etc) and doesn't define your personality but instead you define it according to your current mood in the present.
I hope that make sense, I usually lost people with a lot of words.

Why do people ask me for my expertise/analysis and then get mad if they don’t like my thoughts? Also bystanders will tell me that I should have said something nice. Tell a “white lie”. I never on purpose tell a lie. I do make mistakes.

I get the you should sugar coat things more often and I'm like theirs no sense in doing that. I also told off my parents when I was in my teenage years with only using facts, reasons, and words they said so many times that I felt like they hated me sometimes I knew they didn't. And also I didn't care for attending funerals for family members that we knew that they were going to pass soon because I was more focused on setting myself up for college.

I'm an INTJ that has watched an endless number of these videos that describe me exactly. But I always question if these are horoscope-like descriptions that appeal to everyone. My question is what non-INTJ's think of these behaviors. Everything in this video is me exactly, but do, for example, ENTJs or ESFJs sympathize or are they like, "totally not me."
Basically, I'm trying to figure out if this is som astrology bullshit, or there is some legitimacy. There have been admissions that none of this has any scientific support, but it really does plug into how I see myself and my behavior.

Of course, Myers Briggs is only one model for evaluating personality. People annoy me but I'm sure that I annoy other people as well. It's expected in my estimation, and I don't understand why people get so ruffled when trying to understand and discuss things. I just want to understand everything, so whatever. I am classified as INTJ.

I hate INTJ's more than any other personality type, and I want to put my honest opinion out here as to why that is. The points will be true for many of the INTJ's I've met, but there will always be exceptions.
INTJ's are arrogant; they think everyone is stupid and that they know more, and all the while, they just stand there while everyone is trying their best and just complain and complain, while doing nothing themselves.
INTJ's are insensitive; this is usually not intentional, true, but at their worst, they try to solve traumas with logic when it's more of a feeling problem. It's the worst when you are struggling with something personal, and then INTJ's just come along and tell you that you should see a psychiatrist, are mentally unstable, and should consider medication when you open up to them.
INTJ's are narrow-minded; I've never seen a personality as narrow-minded as INTJ's. Usually other types are at least respectful about it, but INTJ's are the type of people that will cut you off because you believe in say, riding horses being ok, and they believe it's human superiority, animal slavery, or whatnot. The cutting off part is also part of being insensitive, they don't care how it will affect you; they just expect all their friends to always have the exact same opinion as them, or agree with them, and cuts off anyone who doesn't, then turns around and start writing some post about INTJ's being lonely. It's kind of hypocritical.

intimidation is a tool which we use to shoo away people who we think might cause distraction from what we are currently doing. Also nobody wants to be a jerk, but if we put a good face on, people take that privilege for granted, I would rather loose a person than loose a fantastic idea

We watch a lot of INTJ videos, so it makes sense to cater to the audience. The ESFP's probably watch the fewest videos, so it wouldn't make a lot of sense to make a lot of videos on that personality type.
