Hey Matt, I just wanted to say thank you a lot for doing everything you’ve done. If it wasn’t for you many people including myself would still be spending WAYYY too much time trying to find the songs we wanted, so thank you for going out of your way to help us and solving the question some of us have been asking for 20 damn years. :)
Hello mattcintosh, i am curious to ask, do you know if the songs on MUZAK environmental music are ever slightly “altered” because when comparing the copies to some of the songs we have heard in videos, I noticed certain notes were like “out of place” Thanks.
Ive had dupes of songs and the pitch can definitey vary. I have 3 copies of the song "for so long" and the first couple seconds are obviouly different pitches
I noticed it specifically with “She’s Always A Woman” compared to the WTC footage, it has the exact same aspects, but certain notes aren’t played at the exact same time when compared.
@@WorldTradeCenterMuzakCommunity it was filmed on analog tape (most likely), so sync and tape speed may have been an issue. Also, speaker placement as they are moving around may catch audio from different speakers. 100ft causes 1/10th of a second delay, so if the mic is directional, switch from a close to far speaker may cause delays. I dont really recall any cadence errors, as most of the beats are pretty uniform, but never understood the pitch issues. The audio does have forward error correction built in, so if some data is garbled, the receiver may try to fill in the holes with what redundancy was captured
Thanks so much Matt, for helping find all those songs we were looking for, for over 20 years people have searched for these songs, thank you…

Actually its Hold On - Ian Gomm
@@mattcintosh2 is it possible for notes to clearly be out of place, like the backing track stays the same, but the solo lead notes are like “moved” ?
