Sensational race, Lewis showing everyone his talent in superb fashion. The commentary from James Allen (correct me if I’m wrong, I’m sure it’s the same voice as I used to hear on ITV’s coverage of F1) makes the race even better.
The things Hamilton haters see: He has the best car. The things Hamilton haters never mention: Beat record young double-world champion Fernando Alonso as a rookie at McLaren and was a pit stop mistake (by his team) from being rookie champion too. Joined Mercedes at the end of 2012 - at a time Mercedes was a distant 5th in the championship standings (a whopping 161 points behind 4th placed Lotus). Started the 2013 season facing a 4 time world champion with 39 wins (Vettel) and a 2 time world champion with 32 wins (Alonso), while he (Hamilton) himself had a single title to his name and 21 wins. (not mentioning the other two champions Raikkonen with 19 wins and Button with 15 wins). Won two of his titles in an inferior car, the 2008 McLaren and the 2018 Mercedes (the Ferrari was overall better both those years). Judging by Vettel's performance in 2017 it's fair to say that the 2017 was roughly equal to the 2017 Mercedes and probably better in the first half of the season. (he faced an illegal Ferrari in 2017,2018 and 2019 too). Managed 9 consecutive podiums from his *debut race in Australia 2007* - which still is the 7th longest consecutive podium streak in F1. 6 pole positions in his rookie season - many on tracks he never had raced on before. That's compared to the 2 poles of his far more experienced two-time world champion team mate. But, but...he has the best caaar! Sure, if that's all you can see....
It's not all they see. It's all they mention, because they are desperate to take the shine off of what is possibly the best racing car driver we've ever seen. It's pointless arguing with those people. You just have to accept they exist.
He'll be more grown up one day hopefully. I remember Lewis giving Max some advice, a couple of years ago, after max has lost the race to Lewis by crashing into Ocon at the Brazilian GP. Ocon, on new tyres, was entitled to unlap himself, which infuriated Max and the two collided. Lewis said to Max who was ranting on about Ocon, 'you had more to lose than him'! Max was silent after that. Those were the experienced words of a great, great champion. When I starting racing, an older hand said to me, remember all the prizes are at the finish, as you can't win the race on the first lap, but you can certainly lose it. 50 years on and I still remember them!
James Allen is a GOAT among commentators .. This race was very exciting. I need to watch more from Lewis's 06 year. This was one for the record books as far as exciting.
If it weren't for Timo Glock and his masterclass defensive maneuvers.. Hamilton would've possibly catched up to Zuber. Possibly. Also, I like how Hamilton doesn't give himself too much credit for the passes he did, saying the other drivers didn't want to interfere. I'm liking this guy even more!
That was a display of sheer skill and determination. Hamilton is a Racer to the core he’ll go wheel to wheel with the best of them. He was more dominant than Nico Rosberg but Nico is the only one who has managed to get under his skin and make his blood boil. Ahh, back when it was easy to watch motorsport on terrestrial TV. Great upload btw, don't think I've seen the highlights with James Allen commentating before: much better than the other vids of this race on youtube.
I have heard about this legendary race. Wow Lewis showing his talent.
Proof for all you haters out there... This man is a genius behind the wheel of a F1 car. What a drive in cars that are all equal in his GP2 days. 7 or 8 time champion on the way
But he's only winning in F1 because he has the best car. Yeah, right.
They give him the best car because he is the best.
No one said it’s the only reason. But without it would he be? He’s one of the greatest ever there’s no disputing that.
LH is at great driver no doubt about that but for me his constant whining on the radio over other drivers and particularly drivers who actually races him is annoying. He is sadly not the only driver who does that.
@@runechristiansen7372 so you mean no one else is whining over the radio....?
@@SuperHurtman Read my comment again. Just race dammit!! the older days was about racing now it is politics and who can cry the loudest over the airwaves. "oh no I can't pass him because he is holding his racing line" well that's racing and LH is particularly good to complain in those situations.
They need to remaster this race, I'd buy it
12:19 exactly how everyone watching this feels. Anyone that says Hamilton is quick because of the Mercedes F1 car doesn't know jack about racing. That was unreal driving.
That was some incredible defensive driving by Timo Glock, and it made for some amazing racing. And with James Allen commentating it was even better.
Two talking points for me!! Those cars look like they have the speed of late 90's early 20's F1. But the tyre's is even better.....Hamiltion had a spin and in todays tyres he would need to pit for a mini flat spot. But those tyres let the drivers do what racing drivers do........RACE
Ohh my god WHAT A RACE!! That masterpiece defense by Glock , as relentless as Lewis. What a comeback!
Duing to nolstalgia, I didn't want to admit it, but I think now I can say: this guy is the GOAT of F1. And I've been watching it since 1992.
Legend number 1 greatest of all time
Lewis is GOAT
WOW !!! Hamilton's performance is truly WORLD CLASS !
Keep in mind that 2 time world champion Alonzo won the F1 championship fresh from 2006 ,then came Lewis .
What an amazing race, action from start to finish
Hamilton’s early career was sensational
The perfect C V never been bettered
The cream always rises to the top..
"tHiS gUy OnLy KnOwS hOw To RaCe FrOm ThE fRonT"
Not his fault. He's still salty about getting beat by a rookie as the defending 2 time Champ
Alonso innit
Timo glock was having none of it
Timo had soiled his race suit 🤣🤣
He eventually had some of "it" tho 🤣
Unfortunately, Timo wasn't that good in an F1 car!
11:51 - Is that Glock?
You beat me to it!
I saw those spectators realized this man can break MSC all time record
And then we'll see NEW MAX FANBOYS and GIRLS talking about the car ...
But when it comes to the Redbull , it's just a slow car and Verstappen is just a wonderful driver ...
JEEZ......i.diot nowdays
wow, unbelievable!
Sensational race, Lewis showing everyone his talent in superb fashion. The commentary from James Allen (correct me if I’m wrong, I’m sure it’s the same voice as I used to hear on ITV’s coverage of F1) makes the race even better.
Lewis has got no fear, he must trusts the car & heat in the tyres! & just goes for it! Very competitive!
The things Hamilton haters see: He has the best car.
The things Hamilton haters never mention:
Beat record young double-world champion Fernando Alonso as a rookie at McLaren and was a pit stop mistake (by his team) from being rookie champion too.
And you hear Lando Norris talking trash!
He need to be shown these videos
He's an over-glorified mid-fillder. Riccardo will crush him.
Proof of work for all to appraise from the virtuoso himself, Carl Lewis Hamilton.
James Allen is a GOAT among commentators .. This race was very exciting. I need to watch more from Lewis's 06 year. This was one for the record books as far as exciting.
RIP to her husband John. Louise was a splendid presenter.
Obrigado Hamilton por você existir essa foi espetacular !!!
Even better with this commentary
That late braking 😱
What a race..!! Get in there Lewis..!!!! Legend..!! 👍😊
Gandalf The Glock. YOU SHALL NOT PASS!
And where is Glock now?
No matter how good a car without a good driver no dice
GOAT.
This Hamilton guy is great, hope he gets an F1 seat next year
this man is going somewhere, hopefully he gets into F1.
Now that's interesting racing! Great to see how good Hamilton was back then.
That was a display of sheer skill and determination. Hamilton is a Racer to the core he’ll go wheel to wheel with the best of them.
He was more dominant than Nico Rosberg but Nico is the only one who has managed to get under his skin and make his blood boil.
Kinda miss rosberg and Hamilton haveing a scrap hope they’ll be friends one day . 🤝
Wow just wow. And to think that he also won his 7th title in Istanbul as well....
Lewis spun back into the track like this is sim racing
EPIC fighting at 11:00 for a whole minute!
And now 7 times world champion.
2008 Glock in Brazil remembering this, “fuck it, it’s Hamilton I won’t bother fighting he’ll just pass me anyway”
Thanks for the upload...really enjoyed watching this. Some serious, hard nosed driving from Lewis.
5:55
“Hamilton aware he going to lose vital points unless something happens to Piquet”
What happened was Hamilton overtook Puquet
Someone should show this to Jackie Stewart
@Samanthaflower Lewis isn’t black he has a white mom
Agreed, Jackie has rested on his laurels for way too long, and has now become a grumpy old man with a huge chip on his shoulder.
@Samanthaflower where did you get all that from? Are you a racist if you don't praise Lewis these days?
Jackie Who 🦯
@Samanthaflower Spot on!
