After the craziness that the last few weeks were in Edmonton, we can't even put into words how relaxing and therapeutic it's been being back home. I don't know if it's just me but when I was editing this video I kept thinking to myself how much happier we both look when we're here. Even though this week's video was a little shorter than normal, hope you still enjoyed coming along...see you next Sunday! 💛
I loved this, it made me feel so homely and you guys are definitely more relaxed. The boys are clearly thrilled to have you home. I would love to try proper maple syrup as I'm sure what we have in the uk is fake and tastes completely different 💖😀xx
As always I totally enjoyed the video. The 14 day self quarantine is a blessing for y'all to decompress from the trip n changes made n spend quality time with each other n the boys. So looking forward to next Sunday video. LOVE FROM WASHINGTON STATE! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I kept thinking all week that I can’t wait until Sunday to see the homecoming video from Tyler and Todd. As you would expect it was incredibly well done and worth every minute of the wait. Plus I miss seeing the boys and they were cuter than ever.
OMG...Chasing the beaver...hilarious. Also, I gasped at your aerial shots of the lake...your photography skills are **chef's kiss**. So incredibly gorgeous...glad to have you back and so much happier!
There was a guy working in one of the provincial parks who constantly had to unclog culverts because the beavers kept damming them up and causing the roads to flood. It was a big deal and they were considering eliminating the beavers :( But he talked to a biologist instead and discovered that beavers respond to the sound of running water. So he made a recording of the running water sound, then he installed vertical bars in the months of the culverts which largely quieted the running water sound. Then he took the recording of the running water sound and played it where he wanted the beavers to create a barrier- he would just have to unearth the thing he had playing the recording. He was able to get them to build walls where he wanted them So if you want to do some recontouring, you may want to put your beavers to work ❣️🇨🇦
Just so you know my husband and I are both 52 and have been together for 30 years. Yours are the ONLY UA-cam videos he’ll watch with me. You make us smile and we love seeing your bond. 😊
The Burrs that are sticking to Eddie could be from Burdock which has traditional food and medicinal uses. Many people still rely on the traditional uses. :-) I love all the things you two are discovering on your land and just from living off grid. I can't wait for my own dream homestead. :-D
Dear Tyler and Todd. Its the first time I leave you guys a public comment. I have been following your content for a while now, and am very thankful for your contribution towards the youtube community.. You are inspirational and I admire your courage and dedication! Keep Safe and Strong and Proud!
I had a german shepard dog and when the deer came out of the trees he would play with them all the way to the pond where they would drink water together.
The aerial shots on the lake of you guys with the dogs literally made me cry. So beautiful. Such a peaceful moment after such a hectic time of your move. Much love. ❤
OK guys. Quick lesson about Pancake Day and Spikey Things in the Woods: Pancake Tuesday is Mardi Gras (French for "Fat Tuesday"), and yes, it's the day you have your last big indulgence of food before the fasting of Lent. Those spikey things are called "Burrs" and they're seeds. They stick to animals like Eddie to get distributed all over the place. And, cool fact, they're what inspired the inventor of Velcro. It's another time that nature thought of it first and then man imitated . End of lesson. Steve in Ottawa.
Mardi Gras is known as Shrove Tuesday in the English-speaking world. Nevertheless, the French name and the colloquial English name of "Pancake Tuesday" is more apt as housewives and chefs would use up all their cooking fat on that day.
In addition to what you two have mentioned, hiding something in pastry is a pre-Lenten tradition in New Orleans and some other cities. It's the King Cake. I wonder if hiding money in pancakes was related to that tradition.
We call them cockleburrs in Illinois and they're horrible. They have two seeds in each pod. One to germinate in the spring and one to germinate the next year. They are very determined to survive. Burn them. I've pulled them out of dogs hair. The best way is to separate the mass of tangled hair and burr and pull each side apart. Your dogs are beautiful😎
So glad you're back home. I knew the Boys would be rejoicing. I swear you two seem more relaxed than you've been in a while.. When I was in the US Army I was stationed in Alaska and we used to see moose (it's singular and plural) wandering around the post. Some of the locals there came up with collecting moose turds, painting them with gold paint and marketing and selling them as Alaska Gold Nuggets. I still have one of them many years after the fact. You always bring smiles and good feelings as I watch your videos. Thanks.
Exactly my thought, they are really into nature and feeding the soul, they would love the idea of actually living in the trees and having so much water nearby. They would make great podcast interviewees.
Loved the happy ‘Welcome home’ greeting you got The aerial shots are incredible “We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” George Bernard Shaw
The trip to the lake clips were well put together. The footage, the music, the editing and of course, the commentary were more authentic than watching a Disney movie from my childhood. A life well lived and well captured!
Chasing the beaver - Todd strikes again .... 🤣🤣🤣 When I was little, it was a thing to wrap coins in waxed paper and put them in birthday cakes. Those things the dogs get in their fur are called burrs.
The beauty of the aerial shot when you and the boys are on the lake is spectacular...your boys as expected missed you both so much they are not letting you out of their sight ever again! Really enjoy your banter and that you do not make fun of each other but just lovingly tease each other a big difference. So glad you are home.
Glad you boys made it back home safe. To bad about the quariteen. Fourteen days will pass fast. Just keep yourselves busy around the place. So cute how much the boys missed you. Stay safe bye.
There is nothing better than the love your pets give you when yiu return from a long time away! Your vid shos Charlie and Eddie,'s affection. So very, very great, guys!
You guys are the best. My life would not be complete now without Watching your videos love you both, and I can't leave Eddie and Charlie out love you to boys.
My Podcast suggestion is Eamon and Bec, they are beautiful positive people and I just feel you guys would be instant friends and could share lots of ideas. Great to see you two in such a happy place x
I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT PUT INTO WORDS HOW I LOVE YOU GUYS, YOUR CHANNEL AND YOUR POSITIVITY! Watching both of you in love, best friends and how you live your lives has been a total joy for me. The world needs more positivity and love in everyday life and if more people would watch this channel they would get that message. You guys are amazing and as a gay man myself I have to say you are both SUPER CUTE!!!!! Charlie and Eddie are so happy and adorable too :-) My husband and I are celebrating 15 years together and have two rescue dogs that are the joy of our lives. Again , love you guys, the channel, and thank you for letting us into your lives. Love, Brade
Hello you lovely guys great to see you back on the land. Hint: Pantry staples are tins of chidkpeas, bottles of lemon juice, jars of tahini, jars of garlic paste and you have all ingredients to make hummus. So easy and its available all the time then. You can also adapt quantities to get your own flavour. And its cheaper.
Awww sweeties, your puppers are sooooo adorable !!! I just found you and fell in love with you. You’re such a wonderful couple and amazing puppy parents. There is nothing like living in the woods. We’re in Donalda, Alberta. A little hamlet of about 105 people, an hour from Red Deer and an hour and a half from Edmonton. Congrats on the podcast !!! Be well, be you Tyler and Todd. Much love 💕🔆🕊🪔✌🏽🦋🌟💕
I know you were torn... being west and closing out that chapter - but you have already started an amazing new novel. BTW - it might be a fourteen day quarantine for you, but is is a fourteen day reassurance for your boys. Trying to follow you up tat ladder, they are not wanting to separate until they get the confidence back that you won’t be gone again so long. Win win for everyone.
It's good to see you both looking so relaxed even if you are stuck in quarantine. Not having to worry about your properties and having cleared out everything is like you've had a huge weight lifted off you both. It's good to see that you'll now have the time to focus on the things you want to do and when you want to do them. Always remember, it's always "wine'o'clock" somewhere in the world.
I commend you for respecting the quarantine, Canada seems to be handling this pandemic so much more sensible than the US. I hope you stay well and healthy and look forward to your upcoming podcast. Take care and enjoy the life you have worked hard to create together!
PJ and Thomas...since they are in real estate and contracting so you all could have a great convo about construction of the cabin, your property business.
So good to see you home and enjoying the time in quarantine with Edmonton (AKA Hell Frozen Over) behind you! That’s great! So good to see the boys! Looking forward to the blog and whatever else you have planned! Love the “curling rink!” Can the “The Land Bonspiel” be far off??!! Take care and enjoy the free time that you have so richly earned!! Hugs to the boys and all the very best!! 😃😃⭐️⭐️👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻❄️❄️❄️☃️☃️🍷🍷🍷🍷😃😃
I LOVE the "Anyway" response when Todd goes off the rails. (Never stop going off the rails, Todd!!) I've decided in honor of National Wine Day to make a drinking game for watching next week's video and take a drink/sip/shot every time Tyler says "anyway". Who's with me?
Awww, so precious how excited Charlie and Eddie were to see you guys (and you them)! They love their dads! So happy you are able to have time to relax and enjoy your land after your stressful/productive time in Edmonton. Your land is absolutely stunning! So glad you shared your walk and exploring! It is fun to get out and play once in a while! At 59 years old I still enjoy sledding and playing in the snow! You are never to old to play! Loved hearing the owl! Besides deer, what other wildlife do you guys have in your area? You two are just the sweetest couple! Todd your sense of humor and quick wit crack me up! And Tyler your eye rolls and willingness to go along with Todds shenanigans is the best! You two were made for each other! A perfect balance! Love and hugs to the 4 of you!
Todd and Tyler, its so good to see you back home! It just seemed like you were out of place in Edmonton. Your welcome home from the boys had me in tears, they love you so much! Just shows what good taste they have! We thought you both looked more relaxed must have been a relief to get all that work done. You two work so well together, we love seeing that. Take care and stay safe, lots of love to you both and sweet Charlie and Eddie! See you Sunday!
Tyler and Todd SunYAY!!! I love how happy the boys are that you're home and that you are to be home with them. So sweet!♥️ Tyler's photography is phenomenal! I can't WAIT to be able to pick some out!
Happy you both are back safe and sound. LMAO with Todd’s comment about Charlie chasing the beaver saying he was straight and the lent comment with Todd again about l gave up girls for 40 days and never went back that made my day. Always tons of hugs and love to you both❤️❤️🤗🤗🤗🤗
So happy you made it back to the land with no trouble. And I am sure the boys were so excited to see you!! My sunday's are never complete until I see you guys, and hear about your week. Makes me feel like I am there. Much love,Rick
So great to see you back at the land and reunited with the boys!!! You also seem to be much more relaxed and the stress on your faces that we saw the last couple of weeks is gone. Happy for the four of you!!!
Great video guys! You should record the owl hoot and set it as a notification/ ring tone! lol And the pancake montage along with the booty sway, hilarious! 🥞😹 Glad to see the brood back together again! Have a great week guys! See you next Sunday! 📱😸👍
In Scotland a tradition is to put money, coins, into dumpling. A pudding. Usually at Xmas. In pre decimal currency days it was a sixpence. Several. So that each grandchild got one, granny put one in each serving bowl, as well as few actually cooked in the pudding. The pudding was steamed for hours to cook it, filling the house with the smell of the spices. Your pancakes are maybe an adaptation brought by Scots to Canada.
Always lifting me up at the start of the week! You would skate on a frozen bathtub. No place like home. You don't have to isolate. The place is isolated as it is. Ideal! The landscape and the boys are so amazing. And so are you guys. These very sharp and mean things grow also in Israel, and not without a very wry sense of humor, they are called in Hebrew: ... Eichmanns You can't make it up like that.
@11:31..... I grew up with my parents and five siblings. The “money cake“ was an absolute real thing for us as we were growing up. My mom would bake our BIRTHDAY CAKES 🎂 … She would wrap coins in plastic wrap.. INSERT them randomly throughout our Cake.. ..And let me tell you, you are so dang lucky if you scored a “quarter“.. (25cents!!)
Welcome back to "The Land". I'm just commenting as I watch the vlog. Be very careful on the rv roof, the ice on there will throw your ass out in the yard, and be careful not to poke a hole in the rubber roof. I love Todd's off the hip humor, "you can tell that one's str8." as Charlie runs across the lake. Loved the drone shots as you are out hiking today.
They have those spikey things in Texas, too. I stopped at a rest area on I-10 driving from New Mexico just inside the Texas state line. I let Mason out of the truck and within minutes he was full of them. What a mess. And you're right, they have super sharp and I had to cut them out of his fur. Never stopping there again. Glad you're back safe and sound. I love the reunion scene with Charlie and Eddie.
I had just taken a sip of juice when Charlie was chasing the beaver. Fortunately I swallowed just as Todd made his remark.😂. It was nice to see how happy Charlie & Eddie were to have you home. The scenery is breathtaking! You both did seem less stressed out not having to worry so much about the business. I can not wait for the podcast. Maybe Charlie and Eddie could be the first guests😃. Thank you guys for the joy you bring us each week.
I so look forward to these videos every week. I hope to visit Nova Scotia again one day. So beautiful! Love the Charlie and Eddie and the voices that you do for them.
Always carry a pole when you go on ice hit the ice and listen for cracking if you fall in place the across the ice so you can pull your self out or hold onto the stick so you want sink.saw it on life below zero .
OMG I spit my water out on the Charlie chasing the beaver pun. Was not expecting that!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🥴 For the podcast I would love to hear Brooklyn Hytes and Prianka and Jimbo ect......🥰
This was a beautiful vlog, your filming and editing skills are fab. Loved the excitement the boys showed when their dads arrived back home, a dogs love warms the heart. Looking forward to the podcast. Best wishes from Scotland🏴
Those are burdocks in the boy’s coats.. I grew up in western Massachusetts, we used to get them stuck in our socks when we’re were kids... I’ve never lived anywhere as an adult to find them again... it’s a reminder to watch for them when we travel back to New England from Alaska nest year.
Hi guys! You're making me a little nervous around that pond. How do you know for sure that it is frozen? I've seen too many incidents where animals and people have fallen through ice. Be careful. Charlie and Eddie are so loved
Hey y'all I think I'm 3rd now I'm going to watch. I came back to the top to finish my comment. Great video! The boys look so happy. Loved the Beaver joke LOL. and I can't believe Eddie and Charlie tried to climb the ladder so loyal and happy. Such beautiful property! be careful on the Frozen ponds. I love that song that was playing while y'all were cooking , the pancakes and potatoes. I will see y'all in the live on Tuesday. Take care and be safe
Thank you Donna...thanks as well for being a patron as well, truly means the world that you see value in the content we're creating each week and choose to provide this support! See you Tuesday!
Shrove Tuesday is big in England as well as in Anglican Canada. It’s the day before Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent!!!! Look for churches advertising pancake suppers. The idea was to use up all the fat!!! In England, we make almost crepe like pancakes with either sugar and lemon added and rolled up or jam. one egg, half cup each of flour, milk and half a cup of water. Stir thoroughly and let rest for a while. Then fry like North American pancakes. Recipe is also good for Yorkshire pudding and batter for fried fish. (A fairy dream). Love you guys..cheers Colin (a pagan)😎
We’ve been so excited for this all week! So happy to see just from the title that you are back and it’s put a smile on our faces. We’ve had a bit of an up and down week with still being in lockdown and this is just the end to it we needed💙
Podcast suggestion: Chasten and Pete Buttigieg or at least Chasten and their dogs, Truman and Buddy. You do look much happier on the land but why not...you have a sweet piece of paradise there. Enjoy
When Todd turned to you Tyler and mentioned making the pond into an ice rink, I could tell from your reaction and facial expression that you were thinking omg shut up lol
So happy to see you home. You have been crazy busy but accomplished so much. Be proud of all you have done. You make such a great team. I hope that you can relax and plan more together. Being best friends together what an amazing way to deal with this icky crazy Pandemic. Stay happy, stay healthy and continue to create this amazing world together. I look forward to your Sunday updates. They give me comfort to know there is a special happy place in this crazy world. 💐

I loved this, it made me feel so homely and you guys are definitely more relaxed. The boys are clearly thrilled to have you home. I would love to try proper maple syrup as I'm sure what we have in the uk is fake and tastes completely different 💖😀xx
Living tiny makes snuggling easier
As always I totally enjoyed the video. The 14 day self quarantine is a blessing for y'all to decompress from the trip n changes made n spend quality time with each other n the boys. So looking forward to next Sunday video. LOVE FROM WASHINGTON STATE! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I kept thinking all week that I can’t wait until Sunday to see the homecoming video from Tyler and Todd. As you would expect it was incredibly well done and worth every minute of the wait. Plus I miss seeing the boys and they were cuter than ever.

Todd has never been more Canadian than while sliding across a pond, pretending to curl, and yelling "Sweep! Sweep!"
You guys are such a joy to watch. We should all be so lucky to have such a partner in life. The world would be a kinder place.
Just so you know my husband and I are both 52 and have been together for 30 years. Yours are the ONLY UA-cam videos he’ll watch with me. You make us smile and we love seeing your bond. 😊
MY husband and I are also at 30 years...in our 50’s. Nice to know we aren’t alone, lol
"Chasing the beaver...". I died. Just. Died. ❤️🤣😁❤️
And he said something about you know the dog must be straight! 😂
Todd’s trademark brand of humor strikes again. Love it!
I laughed so hard. Love you guys
Oh God! Took me like two seconds for it to register and then I burst out laughing.
There's nothing like coming home to a dog who misses you.
Unless he chews all your stuff. Knocks everything off the tables and counters lol

We eat pancakes after soup on Thursdays where I grew up 🤩
In Chicago, Fat Tuesday, or Pancake Day is called Paczki Day (pronounced poonchkey). A Paczki is a filled doughnut, like a Bismarck.

Always tons of hugs and love to you both❤️❤️🤗🤗🤗🤗
Not the first one here, but still appreciate you guys.
First or the last, we appreciate you just the same! Hope you enjoy the vlog!
@@tylerandtodd Haha! that's great. Thnx. You guys are the best. Welcome back.
Isn't it wonderful how much are dogs love us.
Great video guys! You should record the owl hoot and set it as a notification/ ring tone! lol And the pancake montage along with the booty sway, hilarious! 🥞😹
Glad to see the brood back together again! Have a great week guys! See you next Sunday! 📱😸👍
Love love all the videos with Eddie and Charlie. The sweetest boys💙💙💙💙
How cool it is to see the 4 sweetest boys back together. Love
Your dogs have SOOO much personality!!
🤎Tyler🐶Todd🤎
"Chasing the beaver, you can tell that one's straight." LOL!
(25cents!!)
Barred Owl!!! They say their hoot is saying "Who cooks for you?" I miss my Golden...seeing your two so happy makes me smile! and both of you!
What a place to isolate... It's fantastic. Enjoy the peace and drink lots of wine 🍷 🤗
I literally thought that was Todd in the woods hooting like an owl.
I laughed when Todd followed where Charlie fell in the stream ......good reaction , made me chuckle .
Careful on river guys. It's not like a lake. River water constantly flows. Erodes the ice from the under side.
Always carry a pole when you go on ice hit the ice and listen for cracking if you fall in place the across the ice so you can pull your self out or hold onto the stick so you want sink.saw it on life below zero .
Lots of love from Bryan in Lodi NJ USA. 🥰😘🙏❤🐕 miss seeing Charlie and Eddie ! Woof.
Take care!
You really have so much talent for this - the videography and editing is exceptional.
Thank you Alicia, means so much!
OMG I spit my water out on the Charlie chasing the beaver pun. Was not expecting that!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🥴
For the podcast I would love to hear Brooklyn Hytes and Prianka and Jimbo ect......🥰
A podcast with Mark E MIller would be cool.
Welcome back to the land.... and affection from your boys. Lurve the frozen lake ❄️⛸⛸
Make the most of your quarantine
Hi guys! You're making me a little nervous around that pond. How do you know for sure that it is frozen? I've seen too many incidents where animals and people have fallen through ice. Be careful. Charlie and Eddie are so loved
Amen on CAREFUL
The deer tracks are the clue. Also, if it's anything like Maine (hint, it's more north) it hasn't been above 28F in weeks. So... safe.
@@eba44 no our temps fluctuation. It was -10 Celsius yesterday..its plus 4 and rain today. Horrible ice walking weather here;)
you guys were so busy for the last couple of weeks. I'm glad you are back in your nest and have freed your time to pursue fun projects.
@@tylerandtodd I love your channel I think it's great. Y'all are great
Shrove Tuesday is big in England as well as in Anglican Canada.
Whoops, only a quarter cup of water....my bad
We’ve been so excited for this all week! So happy to see just from the title that you are back and it’s put a smile on our faces. We’ve had a bit of an up and down week with still being in lockdown and this is just the end to it we needed💙
Hope next week is a better and less stressful one for you!
Thank you for going back to the sweetest dogs on the whole Internet. Kiss them and tell them that the weird lady in Oklahoma loves their cute snoots!
Interview Tom Daley and his husband Lance Black. I think you all would get along very well.
I got tired just watching everything you guys did in Edmonton! Glad you're home safe and have the time to unwind and process everything.
Podcast suggestion: Chasten and Pete Buttigieg or at least Chasten and their dogs, Truman and Buddy. You do look much happier on the land but why not...you have a sweet piece of paradise there. Enjoy
please, no politics in your magic woods, please...
Would love for you to interview Pete and Chasten. It doesn’t have to be political. Chasten is an educator and they are animal lovers.
Love your story telling, the visual footage, music, conversation and of course the boys.
When Todd turned to you Tyler and mentioned making the pond into an ice rink, I could tell from your reaction and facial expression that you were thinking omg shut up lol
Hahaha I mean, you're not wrong!
@@tylerandtodd it would be the same if my husband suggested it .lol
please be careful taking the fury kids on the pond....made me so nervous! You fury kids are the best - so happy and loved. take care and stay happy.
Gooooood heavens my heart was just aching to see the boys ... and you did NOT disappoint. Much love to you all.
'Chasing the beaver, you can tell that one's straight'. 🤣 no words
Welcome back home, surrounded by the love of your boys and thank you for the beautiful video on the frozen little lake.
Podcast talk/interview with "trent and allie" and "eamon and bec" to hear you all talk life tiny travel building it would be amazeballs
