D.B.Inches is one of the most interesting bands coming from Kanagawa, Japan. Their minimalist style is subtle and seems to cause them to be overlooked in the saturated music scene, which is unfortunate. This band is different, while most other bands in Tokyo play fast, loud music, dressing in costumes and jumping around like poseurs for attention. There is something more authentic about D.B.Inches. If you see D.B.Inches live, take the time to listen carefully and you'll find very powerful, brooding, atmospheric music. As they say this is "Dream Pop", take the time to listen and you'll hear thoughtful melodic bass lines and sparse but beautiful guitar work and poetic vocals. There has been some change in the lineup and an absence from live playing, but "0303" is well worth the wait. It fits right in line with their excellent offerings of "eve", "遊泳" and "thursday" and hopefully will culminate into a full album. Play on repeat.
