    Great video of 4x4ing in Moab. It’s a great idea to show how a stock JL does in this environment.

    Good to see you guys (wayalife) with new video's! The new JL's are impressive! Just got back from Moab, (the promised land), a couple weeks ago with our group (NorCal Jeepers) and watching all 4 of these segments is giving me PTMD. (post traumatic Moab disorder) ;-) Great scenery and wheeling combined! Keep up the great work! Maybe see you on the trail.

    What a terrific video series! I just finished watching all four, and wow! LOVE the terrific production value. It also makes me want to get back out to Moab! I was there 2 weeks after EJS, we were there for 10 days of mountainbiking. On my last day I was planning on renting a JKR to hit the trails with, but a bad crash 2 days before the end of the trip foiled that. As I'm still recovering I have plenty of time to catch up on your videos. They make me want to get my ass back to Moab, as well as get a Jeep! Of course then I'll have to relocate out west, as there isn't much for wheeling in New England, where I live.
    Oh, and that stock Rubi was awesome! It's amazing what these are capable of off the showroom floor. I saw at the end in the credits that it has the Turbo 4, did the owner share his thoughts on it with you?

    • @wayalife

      Duhhh, see how impatient some folks are? Ok, so you are pretty impressed about the acceleration. Would love to hear your feedback once out on the trail and how it behaves there when crawling and if the Turbo is smooth there. One downside clearly is that the Turbo requires 91 octane gas instead of the 87 like the V6.

    The 2.0-liter turbo makes 268 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, versus the 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of the Pentastar V-6. Off road, which would yo choose now? On-road its probably the turbo, right?

    • @wayalife
      @wayalife  6 років тому

      I ain't gonna lie, as you can see in the very very end of the video, the 2.0L turbo rocked! If I were keeping it stock, it's definitely the way I'd go. What I really want to know is how it'd perform with 37's or bigger.

    I just bought my 1st jk it's a 08 saraha some day I want to do Moab. I you was just starting with your current knowledge in what order would u do upgrades and what brands

    • @wayalife
      @wayalife  6 років тому +2

      I would start by determining what size tire you are wanting to run. Next, I would decide on a budget you can work with. Both will determine what you'll need.

    • @shack200351
      @shack200351 6 років тому

      Wayalife 35's is tires and between 5 to 10 k on budget I guess

    • @wayalife
      @wayalife  6 років тому +2

      Based on your tire size and budget, I personally would run something like EVO 3" Enforcer Kit.

  • @hickoryridgefarms

      Yes, they can. Most of the chips can be found on the door hinges and rear fenders.

    Great video as always!! Quick question, is there a reason you don't have center caps on your wheels?

    • @wayalife
      @wayalife  6 років тому

      The KMC XD231 is a racing beadlock wheel. They don't come with center caps. The member JeepFan over on www.JLWRANGLER.com has found a solution to this though.

  • @d4vidgarr44
    @d4vidgarr44 6 років тому

    If u have enough money for the 4 door would u get it? Or the 2 door ? Mostly do offroading in the desert & mountains. Not really alot of crazy rock crawling. Any JEEP experts? I' dont know anything about jeeps offroading but I plan on getting one.

    • @wayalife
      @wayalife  6 років тому +1

      Having owned both, I would get a 4-door especially if you have others that come with you and/or if you do any camping. The extra room to carry gear is nice to have and I have found a 4-door to out perform a 2-door.

    • @d4vidgarr44
      @d4vidgarr44 6 років тому

      even if I'm only going to drive in the desert and mountains? not really crazy trails. plus I'm single. I have the option ( money ) too buy a 4 door. should I? I see most of your videos have 4 door.

    • @wayalife
      @wayalife  6 років тому +1

      If it were me, I would still get a 4-door. They really are that much better on and off road even if you're single.

    • @Shuki-g
      @Shuki-g 5 місяців тому +1

      If your a single or a couple a 2 door make more sense ,it looks better , has better ground clearance ,maneuver better on and off road ,better steering , better fule consumption and better acceleration .

  • @notice_fpv
    @notice_fpv 6 років тому

    What air pressure are you running, @Wayalife? Watching this series, I can't help but wonder why you don't go lower. It seems the Evo folks are running a significantly lower pressure, judging by sidewall flex, etc. I say, if you've got the bead locks, how low can you go!

    • @wayalife
      @wayalife  6 років тому +1

      EVO was also running about an inch more lift and therefore had greater break over angles. Going lower on psi also LOWERS your Jeep and being that we were already an inch lower than them and suffering from reduced break over angles, we decided to keep our psi up a bit higher. IF we had problems getting up obstacles, we would have aired down more but we didn't so we left well enough alone. Just because you "can" go lower in psi doesn't always mean that you "should" or "need" to or at least, not in my opinion.

    How is the road noise on the stt pro compared to ko2s? They look great and appear to handle well off-road, but I’m sure you had to travel a considerable amount of miles to get there.

    • @wayalife
      @wayalife  6 років тому

      It's almost a thousand miles each way for us to get there. The STT Pros are quite for an MT but you can definitely hear them more than an AT like the KO2. Much better off road though.

    Been wanting a Jeep forever! You great videos just reinforce the idea. Might wait until the 3.0 diesel though. That engine sounds exciting. What are your thoughts on it?

      @wayalife  6 років тому

      Jeep has been talking about a diesel for more years than I can remember. If it really does come out, I'm sure it'll be nice but it'll make this $50k Wrangler price out closer to $60k.

      Yeah tell me about it. I think Jeep really has missed an opportunity here. If they do that diesel right I think it would sell like hot cakes to the enthusiast but he’ll what do I know? Lol... by the way just joined Your site! Username Tallcoolone. Have a great day!

    • @wayalife
      @wayalife  5 років тому +1

      It's just the letter designation for the new 2018-up model Wrangler. It used to be the JK before.

      Unfortunately, I think there are a lot of guys who are in the same boat as you. I'm pushing companies like EVO to hurry things up.

      Thank you , it’s Frustrating trying to get my Jeep trail worthy, after two years in production of the 2.0l in the new JLs one would think one or the company’s out there would have put one on the market , makes $$$ since thank you for getting back so quickly

    Wish you'd lower the music so we can hear the actual vehicles.

    • @wayalife
      @wayalife  6 років тому +1

      Sorry, these are like home movies for us. We make them in a way that helps us to remember how much fun we had on our trips. The music and their volume is a part of it and while we hope that others will enjoy our videos, that's not why we make them. We hope you continue to watch our videos anyway but if not, we'd completely understand.

    "Something so small as a new JL Wranger" (looks at price tag. .. Hey! thats not so small :(
    I now Live in Germany and you would be surprised how many people own JK's TJ's and various modified classics I even saw a JL last week. There is nowhere to wheel here. All mall crawlers.

    • @wayalife
      @wayalife  6 років тому

      LOL!! No, there's nothing small about the price tag and it's a bummer that things cost so much for you.
