    The Green Bay Packers have kept 2 quarterbacks on their roster for 3 straight NFL seasons. Jordan Love could be a millionaire by next week. Michael Pratt has shown potential in QTA’s and minicamp. Sean Clifford has struggled in the early offseason program. If the Green Bay Packers keep 2 quarterbacks, Sean Clifford may join the Packers practice squad. Josh Jacobs is earning a top-5 running back salary. Additionally Marshawn Lloyd impressed in early QTA’s. AJ Dillion serves as a dependable 3rd-string running back. However, his salary represents less than 1% of Green Bay’s cap space. He could excel as a 2nd-string option for many NFL teams. The Green Bay Packers could trade him to address needs or acquire assets before the 2024-25 NFL season starts. Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, and Dontayvion Wicks are the core receivers, all capable of claiming WR1 status by 2024-25. Moreover, Bo Melton is likely our WR5, earning his spot after clutch performances in 2023-24. WR6 may see competition between Malik Heath and Samori Toure. Malik Heath is a more reliable weapon on offense, which gives him a slight edge despite Samori Toure’s tenure and special teams contributions. Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft form a dynamic duo. TE3 hinges on Tyler Davis’s recovery from his ACL injury. He might begin 2024 on the Physically Unable To Perform List, potentially moving to the active roster later. In the Green Bay Packers 2024-25 offensive line, only Zach Tom’s and Elgton Jenkins positions are certain. Zach Tom at right tackle, Elgton Jenkins at left guard. Rasheed Walker likely starts at left tackle, with competition from Jordan Morgan. Josh Meyers is the expected starting center. Andre Dillard adds depth. Jacob Monk and Jennings are promising developments. Moreover, Green Bay invested a 3rd-round NFL draft pick in Sean Rhyan 2 NFL seasons ago, and they need to evaluate his potential. Kenny Clark and Preston Smith are veteran leaders. Additionally, Devonte Wyatt had 45 total pressures in 2023. Karl Brooks excelled among rookies in sacks, hits, hurries, batted passes, and stops. He was Green Bay’s top defensive rookie and highest-graded defender in the playoffs against the San Francisco 49ers. Furthermore Rashan Gary, and Lucas Van Ness form a strong edge rushing duo. Wooden and Slaton will rotate on the interior. Green Bay will cautiously handle Kingsley Enagbare’s return after his injury in last year’s Divisional Round against the 49ers. Brenton Cox received praise during training camp in the early offseason. In 2024-25, Green Bay will primarily use a 4-2-5 defensive scheme. Quay Walker and Edgerrin Cooper are likely starters at Mike and Will linebacker. In a 4-3 setup, Isaiah McDuffie and Ty’Ron Hopper will rotate based on down and situation. Furthermore, Wilson and Welch play key roles on our special teams. Jaire Alexander is the undisputed CB1 for Green Bay. Additionally, Eric Stokes and Carrington Valentine will compete for CB2. Moreover, Keisean Nixon likely plays in nickel packages. Corey Ballentine adds solid depth. Kalen King will occasionally see playing time. Xavier McKinney and Javon Bullard start at safety in the traditional 4-3 defense. They may play closer to the line in nickel and dime packages. Kitan Oladapo will be a hybrid safety, often in the box or as a single high safety, often in the box or as a single high safety. Furthermore, Evan Williams and Anthony Johnson Jr. serve as backup rotation players in our secondary. Anders Carlson wins the kicking battle. Bowden could extend Green Bay’s streak of including an undrafted free agent on the final roster for 15 years. Whelan faced no competition for his job this offseason. Injuries can alter the roster’s composition. Nonetheless, regardless of who’s on the field, the Green Bay Packers have reliable players across all phases capable of performing every week. Go Pack Go 💚💚💛💛

    Awesome job with the prediction and explanation of rationale! Pre-training camp, I’d agree with every single one. The practice squad makes sense too, pretty much every single one. Before Andy even said it, I was thinking about the possibility of bringing up some of the special teams “standouts” off the practice squad, and it makes a lot of sense to me. I’d add that the special teams performance wasn’t very good even with all the roster spots taken by guys largely for special teams abilities. A lot of these guys now know the system and can be called up for a few weeks each for the game-day active roster, and Rich B has just got to make it work or they need to make a change before next season.

    Andy, great content as always. I always love your analysis. I would basically agree except that I think Tenuta over Dillard, one of the special teamers over Johnson, and D. Jennings and either E. Dubose or E. Wilson will make it because other people will get injured and roster positions will open up. Injuries are simply reality but also an opportunity for someone else. I also really like the idea of a kicker on the practice squad. I have said all along that Carlson's biggest threat will be someone else's final cut. But I predict Carlson will make it and that other as-yet-unknown kicker might go on the practice squad.

    I can never understand why every team does not carry a kicker on the practice squad every year. What happens if our kicker has a year ending injury? Then what? Sign A street kicker? Or would it make more sense to have the kicker on the practice squad who up to the time of the kicker getting hurt becomes more familiar with the field conditions and wind trends at their stadium? One would think the practice squad kicker would have the best opportunity to help the team than a street kicker

    I think PK Turner will be on the practice squad. I also think CB King goes to the PS.

    I agree with every single pick except Andre Dillard. I would put Caleb Jones in that spot. He impressed in the limited opportunities he's been given that I've seen.

    i do think that this is very realistic prediction, tho i have 2 things to say:
    1. ST can't really get worse, they finished as 29th last year(31st by DVOA)
    2. If Jenkins or Tom have to miss any significant time then this OL is fucked

    Predicting who is likely to clear waivers will be a major factor in deciding the final few spots. Protecting developmental talent from being poached will need to be weighed against the ability to contribute on game day on special teams.
    If you're willing to lock in the following: 2 QB, 3 RB, 3 TE, 5 WR, 9 OL, 5 DT, 4 DE, 4 LB, 5 CB, 4 S and 3 specialists that's already 47 spots.
    Only 6 spots remaining for: QB3, OL10, TE4 (Tyler Davis), WR6 (Malik Heath), DE5 (Brenton Cox), LB5 (Eric Wilson), CB6 (Kalen King or Robert Rochell) and S5 (Anthony Johnson Jr)
    We've already got a good idea of who those 47 likely are although there are still competition battles including: QB2, OL, K, LS and possibly others. All of those roster bubble guys are deserving of a 53-man spot and regardless of the decision it's bound to leave some fans upset.

    My 53 is incredibly close to yours 🤝 I have Anderson as the 5th safety for teams
    Let’s be clear about one thing though Donovan Jennings is a Green Bay Packer. 53 not P-squad. They did not give him 100 K to cut him. Period. He would have to be an absolute abomination for that to happen. It’s more likely he’s a starting G then cut.

    • @PackADayPodcast
      @PackADayPodcast  Місяць тому +1

      He was my last cut but teams cut $100k signing bonus udfa’s all the time. In the scheme of thing it’s nothing more than a rounding error financially. He may well make the team but they’ll have no issue cutting him if he’s not able to make the 53. And in releasing him the odds they’ll get him back on the p/s are incredibly high so they can still develop him. Either way he’ll be a fun player to track in camp.

    • @Metawrecker
      @Metawrecker Місяць тому

      @@PackADayPodcast As Kirko once said, It’s not about the money, but what the money represents … As far as I was able to track, this is a record setting UDFA # for us. That guy doesn’t get cut unless he’s unsalvageable in camp
      The reason I don’t think the P-squad is an option, again the bonus money. He clearly had a market out there if we cut him, he’d be on another 53 + 9 OL is a little light
      Otherwise, I agree. Really how many of “Rich’s guys” make it will be very interesting & will determine the final few spots to me
      *fully on board with the Cox hype train

    NFL O-line play in the NFL is so bad that JRJ got $10M/year from the Giants. I’m not sure why Andy is so confident that we can sneak our 10th guy onto the practice squad.

    • @PackADayPodcast
      @PackADayPodcast  Місяць тому +1

      Because they have 5 guys who could be the #10 guy. If they lose one it won’t really be that big of a deal.

    Let’s say we only keep Love and Clifford and subject Pratt to waivers and packers lose him…are there any other back up QBs around the league that are making a surprising splash?Might be able to pluck from somewhere else too.
