Thanks for posting. Might ad, Sadie holds a number of age-group world records. Last summer, at age 15 she ran 1500 meters in 4.11, which is faster than Katelyn Touhy or Mary Cain at that age. Or any girls from Kenya, Ethiopia, or the rest of the world, for that matter. Hella fast. We Americans got some talent coming up. Edit: and congrats to Ashlyn Boothby for that 4.39, currently second fastest in the country. Huge PR jump.
Sadie is my friends daughter Sadie is an amazing kind soul and genuinely deserves accolades never seen such hard work and dedication she is mature beyond her years....Key note born and raised in Massachusetts the family relocated to watch her shine on the right stage the dominance here in Massachusetts was no longer a challenge..
I have said this before. Sadie has the strength, height, stride and good technique. She will break national records. I don't like to compare, but she will break some of Touhy's records at the HS and perhaps college level if she stays healthy.
I feel like Sadie may start to race collegiate and pro as a high schooler, like lex and leo are doing; competition is greater and matching their levels
cant do that in Cali unless you want to lose your eligibility. shell be in some good post season meets though including the Portland Track Festival 1500 this weekend where she ran 4:11 last year.
Lex and Leo are goofy for doing that 😂 they weren’t even the fastest high schoolers they had a bunch of comp birnbuam, burns and more high schoolers just as fast or faster than both
Crazy how she let up at the very last BEFORE crossing the finish line losing .3 - .5 seconds. Compared to every other element of a flawless technique, THAT was glaring blemish that her coach will certainly address. That national record was hers, but will be hers soon enough. CONGRATULATIONS on a near perfect performance of 99%!
Congrats. If she had just run through the finish line, she'd have had it. Kinda let up in that last 5 feet. What a run though. Agree with earlier comment. Another Katelyn Tuohy? Looking good for the future of USA distance racing.
@@adambricker2719 It was a masterful performance and yes, I am nit picking. :) That's the only thing I could find in her race, as I'm sure she and her coach have already analyzed. Running through the finish line is just something that drilled into us track athletes since day one. USA long distance running is improving and I'm looking forward to see her future races.
@@carlrossi7989 Very true. Polly Plumer was quite the stud runner. We went to the same high school, University High in Irvine. She was a freshman the year after I graduated in 1978. I met her in 2011 at a reunion, and she is very easy to talk to and be around.
65, 68, 70 & 70... great run!!! Tallest here, it looked like, plus very developed thighs for a 15-16 year old...but again, excellent time, great effort. Keep it up & make strides from here on out.
Perhaps, she'll come back periodically to train with Sadie. That Wolfpack is tight! It has been so cool to see the supportiveness between the runners (and, also the coaching staff)!
Poor Chiara. She thought she could run with Sadie and it ended up burning her out. Sadie Englehardt is just on another level. Anyone wagering on Ms. Englehardt skipping out on H.S. Track her senior year?
Maybe in 2 years she run 4:20 or close to it but not now or anytime soon. She could have run like 4:29 but she paid the price for her horrible pacing. Yes you might say she’s very young she’s a kid but this kids have been running competitively probably since she 7-8. No excuses.
If she stays healthy, there will be a lot of records with her name on them in a few years - amazing record!
Thanks for posting.

Wow, Sadie looks like "Wonder Woman" with that headband, and you know what, SHE IS! Brilliant Run. Love to watch you win!

The maturity is evident - watching from South Africa.
Second and third were impressive times

shes just fractions of a second from her mile record.
Sadie Englehardt ----> Super well done. Absolutely incredible runner. Hard and consistent work got her to this performance and many more to come!
So glad to see a girl break the girls 1600m record in California. Great job Sadie!!

Yeah, what’s with runners not running through the line?
You've just witnessed a masterful performance and you are nit picking. She was exhausted. Come on, do better.

Fantastic! And still two years of HS racing left!
the goat
BADASS
She’s going to 4 peat in the mile during her high school career.
I believe Mary Decker had the record back in the day and she was from California. I may be wrong but that was a long time ago and what a talent!
Polly Plummer
The meet record was held by Christine Babcock of Woodbridge High School in Irvine - 4:33.85
@@LeeFred78 Indeed it was, Plummer had held it for something like 25 years prior to Babcock....

Maybe Sadie should go to NC state and work with Katelyn Touhy
Touhy will be long gone by then.
Perhaps, she'll come back periodically to train with Sadie. That Wolfpack is tight! It has been so cool to see the supportiveness between the runners (and, also the coaching staff)!
Fantastic ! Only a sophomore: Wow
What stadium is this? It's too nice to be a high school.
Buchanan High School. Lots of money in that area. And the Bears are perennially a powerhouse program.

I bet she does her sr yr running.
@@l3gendarylag805 I have a feeling she'll be running against college and open division runners.
With NIL, there's no reason to skip unless she's going to go home school while going pro.
@@l3gendarylag805 Oh, I bet she'll be running. The question is for who?
no chance
So another Katelyn Tuohy in the making?
On the track, at least. Nowhere near for XC
Who owns the records?
Sadie is a great runner, I think she'll get under 4:30 by senior year.
Called it
By her senior year she will be running under 4:20
@@ejgalindo82that’s a stretch
Waddy Wachtel brought me here 😁.
A Sophomore, almost breaking a Varsity State record??? I'm curious what her secret is!? LMFFFAAAOOO
She's fast
What's absorbed is your behind getting swept on the playoffs
U say sophomore? Ain’t no way I know highschool junior and senior boys running slower
The best girl in a state is better then some guys 😱😱😱
Good junior and senior boys aren't running slower. Maybe in slow states or small schools.

@@donshields2379 even some freshman at my school

Finally a race not won by a little pipsqueak. Thank goodness for middle distance.
Second place finisher looked to be under 4:40. The state meet near me, it's typically won in 4:55 or so
She's imagining , K. T. Out in front of Her...😜
Almost all of KT's high school records have been broken already... Chill!
The girl that went with her died a horrible death!! Yikes.
why not the mile????? stupid they insist on this...meeningless distance-the mile holds the CLOUT!!!!amazzing-amazzing!!!!
Lmao what
California? Are thy all on drugs?
Not sure what the announcers were talking about for the national record? My girl Addy Wiley ran 4:29 for the full mile last year.
4:27 actually.
What race was that in?
What is that compare to 1600 meters?
@@runrunrunrunrunrunrunrunrun1 4:26.16 actually and it was a 1600 not a mile.
1,500? 1mile? Nope, lets complicate things and invent the 1,600! Such a shame. The old mile times and school records last forever now.
A real woman winning a woman’s race, almost a rarity
Horrible pacing from 4:21 pace to 4:33 just ridiculous.
If I was her coach I would slap her on the face lol 65 sec first lap really? Everyone knows that 4:20 1600m is just not possible for HS girls period.
She will run a 4:20 her senior year.

She won't beat KT she looked waisted at the end. She may beat her on a short race but a longer race is to much for her
She might skip her senior season like the lex and Leo and go against pros
