Kevin seemed very friendly and unpretentious. Quiet Riot was a fun band. Great memories from the 1980’s. I remember that MTV Christmas party contest. I was only 18 and I can’t imagine I’d have my parents’ blessing if I had won. “Well, Mom, Dad, I kinda invited 4 of my friends over!” LOL RIP, Kevin, Randy and Frankie and God bless Quiet Riot!

@@randytorrez6858 And in return, Sarzo did Rhoad's legacy a solid, by writing the truth about RR, and how he was creatively miserable after slagging for those two vipers in "Off the Rails".
First Metal album to go #1! Back in the days of MJ,MADONNA,PRINCE,SPRINGSTEEN etc.etc. releasing massive albums along with every other group out there it seems,so that was a huge accomplishment. '83-'84 was an incredible time in music.
Rudy was in the right place in 80’s because he earned it and was good. He also was not out of control and band’s could count on him not being an ass. Super nice guy too. Greeted the fans very kindly.
I was in MÉXICO when this album came out, every body loved it, then everybody there started to love heavy metal in México. Thanks Quiet riot for bringin the best music ever.
An English-language rock/metal album getting a Platinum certification in Mexico is a real accomplishment. Obviously, Mexican metal fans appreciated that album. I know QR played some big shows in Mexico, too.
Carlos was good and I think the only problem with his recordings especially on Condition Critical was his tone. It just sounded to nasally to me. I think it came together on QRIII.
I always thought Carlos was such a fluid player, with so much much soul, but he gets overshadowed because of Randy's untimely death unfortunately. As a fellow guitarist, every time I revisit Carlos' playing, I'm blown away by his melodic and sometimes technical style. He married his style to pop metal perfectly.
Love Carlos. He is like the official Robbin Crosby replacement in Ratt. Any reunion has to have him with all the originals. That one album he did with them was very good. Infestation.
I was officially 8 years old the day Metal Health was released. Used to go to the roller skating rink for birthday parties at that time and always heard "Come on feel the Noise" played all the time. Found out QR was the band. For Christmas, My parents got me "Metal Health" and the rest is Heavy Metal HISTORY!
This is great! I can't believe they sold all those albums for Mental Heath and didn't have publishing rights. Wow! He is correct Nikki Sixx was a master mind business man! Thanks for the upload!

Riot really distilled that anxt that many where feeling and channeled it in such a way that made them just better than most bands. They are what I identify as the hard rock sound of my teen years.
Rudy and Carlos were super cool in person. I saw Kevin and QR in concert and it was beyond his heyday and was surprised Kevin did not have a better stage patter or chatter.. Frankie, at least the night I saw QR, was not a happy camper. It was a good show but you could see tensions with the band. Rudy and Carlos were super nice. RIP Frankie and Kevin. I was glad I saw QR. It was not in their heyday but I did see the Metal Health band live.
Having lived through the whole era of when QR [mark II] burst on to the scene, and the following year with all the slagging of other acts which Kevin did in the magazines like Hit Parader, and, on MTV, it was really refreshing to hear Kevin speak so highly and complimentary of Nikki's business savvy; and, refrain himself from really going off the rails on the evils of Spencer Proffer. Thanks for posting this interview, which shows the better side of Kevin.
Not sure but I think he called my old band 'Assassin' Ass at 10:32, lol. They jumped off a tour to headline at the Fulton Theater in Pittsburgh and their album hit gold that day, Assassin opened for them. They were good but very, very loud, and argued with each other through the sound check.
Thanks for posting this . Me & my friends were big fans & wore out that album back then. I saw them open for Maiden here in Florida on the Piece of Mind tour. They were awesome. As much energy on stage as Van Halen. My band even played Bang your Head in our set in 84.
