Friendly reminder that Gulfoss has three options: [OG], Live, Master. The Live option is designed for tracking and thus has very little to no latency but not as extensive processing. The Master option is very extensive and has been recommended to be used only once such as the stereo bus or during the final effects chain in a mastering session. Then there's the Sonible smart:eq option and the Focusrite has the Fast EQ, which uses Sonible's processing. The smart:eq3 gives you the ability to prioritise instances, which can also aid in achieving balance amongst parts. Once again, excellent job with these and keep them coming =]
@@picklerick2865 soothe2 seems to focus more on resonances (and I think has some compression like properties under the hood). Gulfoss focus on human psychoacoustics in general. smart:eq uses a learned profiles as a baseline.
Congratulations for your really good content in your videos and your blog! I am reviewing them completely and enjoying a lot !!! Thanks so much. Best regards from Spain. 😁😁🎸👌
Man you have maybe the best channel...the knowledge I get from you I cant find it nowhere else and super fast videos.THANKS --It would be awesome a video about mixing bass for metal/rock and how to glue it with guitars/drums. Neural parallax is helping a little. Anyway no-one has made a video to make me understand what should I do to make a bass sound right and glue with guitars!!!
Brother....I like your masters...I'm a customer already....I was wondering if u ever gonna offer mixing services since u know so much and show it in your videos.....I would love to get my stuff mixed by u...
Both of those things are more of a "use your ears" type thing. I agree that maybe some pointers on how to account for those would be helpful, but in a lot of cases it's more of a preference thing. Some people like that crispy digital sound and bass that's way too loud (lots of modern hiphop and EDM). Some don't and would prefer the warmer analog based mixes (70s rock type sound).
The Gulfoss Master was the one shown. There are three options and they all do the same thing. However, the Live is designed for tracking (thus low latency) while the Master is designed for mastering or stereo bus processing (thus high latency/CPU usage)
I thought the word length within 'modern' daws was 32bit floating point which means that the dynamic range extends above 0 as well as below. Doesmt the 64 bit refer to the computer processing required to work the plugin its self?
@@Quant-Beat 64 bit without a floating point would still imply that the full dynamic range is below 0 though right? Doesnt it have to be floating point for the dynamic range to extend above 0 and not clip?

I've been doing music production for 6 years, so it's not like I am an absolute beginner. But when _any_ channel talks about EQ techniques, I just can't seem to hear the difference. Are my ears just bad?
Hey there, I've always been asking myself this question: whenever I use a synthesizer and it's got a build in reverb, shall I use that one in the vst or use an external one? Some plugins have a bad programmed reverb and in these cases I use external ones on my channel. So is it a demanding thing or should I always go for external reverbs, because the vst build in may influence the frequency too much?
Guys your videos are straight and to the point but why is literally everything on-screen moving all the time?! It makes it really hard to focus on what's being discussed when the task bar is shooting fireworks, the words I'm reading are floating away, and the screen is zooming in and out. You don't need this much visual stimuli to make a point and could be saving motion for things you really need to call attention to.
Can u make a video on mix bus processing? Would be helpful 🙏
Seriously ⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️pleaaasseeee do it💯
Agreed. Thanks for the vid.
Foreal!!!!
stop watching these horrible videos
The darkness/brightness on the reverbs depending on sources is very important for a professional mix.

It sounds so good I've always just slapped it on without knowing this
What is the difference between this plugin and soothe2?

@@DerekPower hmmm thanks! They are both really expensive hahaha that I can tell
This channel is amazing literally everybody involved in the creation of music needs to see this

Yeah that’s why I’m not too bad hat
Really enjoyed this video. Especially enjoyed the reminder that frequencies change after after fx to the mix. Thank you.
Thanks for giving us ur valuable time.

How do you use bertom analyser to measure the change in frequency response caused by saturation/ distortion ?
Please make a video on how to make two instruments with the same frequency ranges??
Some of these tips are very useful. However, this doesn't address typical mix issues, such as tonal balance and digital harshness.

You cannot see this tittle and not click on it haha, well done Sage Audio 👏
Can you also make a video on how to mix instrumental steams for beats. For example. Bass, snare kick etc.
How do you get gullfoss to look like that!?
The Gulfoss Master was the one shown. There are three options and they all do the same thing. However, the Live is designed for tracking (thus low latency) while the Master is designed for mastering or stereo bus processing (thus high latency/CPU usage)
the only way where Clipping occurs is NOT the stereo output. Try to clip a q3 instance, you will never get rid of this clipping.
love you tutorials! amazing :) Thank you

I have 64 bit depth option but I have never used it as I see no real reason yet.
@@Quant-Beat 64 bit without a floating point would still imply that the full dynamic range is below 0 though right? Doesnt it have to be floating point for the dynamic range to extend above 0 and not clip?
Shall be 64-bit float even there. They claim so.
Well .. turns out I'm a bit stuck in the past! Had no idea there was 64bit float!! Maybe I've been using it all along 😂😅🤟🏻
