- If Nini starts going by Nina, I'm going to lose it. Nini was the nickname Ricky gave her when they were young, now she wants to change it back. I'm going to be honest, I'm a little worried for Rini. Ricky doesn't want anything to change and everything to just stay the same while Nini wants to grow and figure out who she is. You know that phrase "right person, wrong time" that's starting to apply to them and I'm hoping they can make it through. Anyway, I don't know how I feel about this edit, I was struggling to find a song to match their story and just couldn't find anything plus I used scenes of them that were good and bad and try combining them when they didn't really flow together.

because people only call her Nini because Ricky used to call her Nini when they were super young and hearing “I’m nina” made me think that Nini is moving on from ricki

The minute when Nini introduced herself as Nina I swear I felt an ache in my heart😭😭😭 and I teared up a bit. I get it why Ricky was hurt by the song but his attitude hasn't been the best in a while. I really hope they don't break up but I kinda have a feeling that they will💔😢

Ricky doesn’t want her to feel trapped, and if Nini opened up about why he will be able to change whatever he is doing to make her feel that way it can be corrected. But nothing can change if she doesn’t say what needs to be changed. Same with Ricky, he needs to tell her why her pulling away is causing him to react so intensely. I mean it’s kinda hilarious how aware he is of Nini’s actions (even before she is) and then his complete obliviousness to Gina’s (not so hidden in ep2,3&5) feelings.
It not just a song it. It everyone hearing about the relationship issue. Lily figure out the song meaning in no time. I really hope they can work this out 😰

Her name is Nina, Nini is just a nickname. She is trying more independent there is nothing wrong with that. Ricky is to self centered and childish. I'm #teamrini forever but her story shouldn't be all about Ricky. I don't think that Nini is pushing Ricky away I think Ricky is pushing Nini away.

When she said "I'm Nina" I flopped on my bed and had a literal mental breakdown
sure it’s disheartening for Nini to decide that she wants to abandon the nickname that Ricky gave her, but it’s also completely okay for her to decide that. the symbolism makes it seem like she’s letting go of ricky, but she’s really just becoming more of her own person instead of being tied down to a label that’s held her since she was in kindergarten. she’s growing up! she’s allowed to!

my heart broke when Nini called herself "Nina" like I know it's her real name but it just hurts for some reason.
But the fact he said that he's never going to stop loving her and he's never going to break up with her again but then he was being soooo mean to her I mean I understand her because if you have no idear what to right for a song and then you change idear of it its easier and he's making it hard for her I feel bad 💖
isn't this just a coincidence?? Ricky(joshua) dates Nini-Nina(olivia), and takes the BLONDE girls side, lily's side. I honestly think they did that on purpose. When i first started to watch the show, it was a love triangle between E.J(matt), Ricky, and Nini. Now theres a real life love triangle between Ricky, olivia, and sabrina. I think something is going on. And in one of the parts, they use lyrics from sabrinas song "Skin". THIS BREAKS MY HEART!! Did anyone else notice this? or just me?

I'm sorry but... This relationship was dysfunctional from the start, and I wouldn't really be mad if they broke up. In hindsight, this is kind of reversing what happened in Season One. They started off really close, and might end in a not-so-great way.

this is RLY RLY long but if you do read all of it, thx!
so I think that if you compare to season one to hsm1, you'll see how alike they are (that's a whole other topic lol) but now comparing season 2 to hsm2 you can realize those are similar too. Also adding Beauty and The beast into the mix from when Ricky says "I don't like who Im becoming" just like the beast(which is also the part he plays). In the rini break-up scene (that scene made me cry and I'm not exaggerating). We also know that in hsm2 Troy is blinded by all the attention and love he gets from people, kind of like how Nini looks at her phone and sees all the comments on her channel near the end of S2E8. The way Nini acts when they break up is almost like she doesn't want to have to do that. Just like Gabriella when she leaves the summer camp. There are even more parallels, but it would take forever to name them all. Now seeing all these parallels, we can only assume this will end as hsm2 does. Basically, Nini takes it so far to the new identity that she loses pretty much all her bonds with the acting crew. She realizes what she's doing is wrong, even if all the attention seems right. And as always, a happy ending :>
I hope they end up together, and you're right there are a lot of parallels between the show and those movies so it only makes sense

That's crazy. As I see them, I wanted to ship (Rini), Nini nicely calls Ricky, ("Ricky") not (Richard); Ricky nicks name ("Nini") nor (Nina). Grade School stuff sounds "cute" they had kept it, as them being older, they're teenagers
(I know), but in a few episodes, Ricky's attitudes short - tempered and high rate with (Nini).
The pizza dispute!? The Rose Song!? Parts was strife. And the "I'm Nina!" segment.
Like -- I'm hurt on why she said that,
"I'm Nina!" because, he holds her back!! She supports him. She wants to cut ties -- from Ricky. > She has herself to be the Nina > I would want Nini to stand tall in the crowd whether if she's Ricky's (GF) or (not) -- she'd be her; the real self she is, she'll be happy she can discover her, herself!! > She wants to find her own destination, in the future, she would've had her boyfriend (Ricky) with her as well as to be her own person, too!! So I expected there were things clearly much getting worse. Is a wake up call!! It's possible they'll split (somehow). I think in between all of this, Miss Jenn is aware of somewhat of Nini's and Ricky's choices. At the same time, Miss Jenn was confused, and had uncertainty on Nini's and Ricky's situation>> -- The song lyrics --
