anything from 3 grams up to 8 grams . 1/16oz crappie jig with a 2.75" soft plastic all the way to 1/4oz jig with a d.o.a paddle tail . bellow the 2.5 grams is kinda struggles but great for the money , really similar to the xf series , less bearings and a little lighter .
Awesome video. I saw this reel on aliexpress and am seriously thinking of getting one. Are the spools interchangeable between the XF and Hurricane? Also do you notice any difference between these 2 reels while fishing as the Hurricane has lesser number of bearings?
@@crosswind982 yes they are you can interchange them , and the hurricane reel having the rubber handle knobs feels smoother then the xf50 . cast the same and I didn't notice any difference . sometimes less bearings is better .
@@hernanhaf4268 That's awesome. I saw this reel online a while ago and was waiting for a proper review on it in English and you did it! Thanks a million!
you gonna be really happy , I put 150 yards of 8# power pro and cast really good and for under $50 dollars is a great saltwater option no other bfs saltwater friendly reel the next option id the Shimano scorpion for $240
yes and sometimes for big fish as well , the secret is to have good reliable gear , smooth drag on the reel to prevent breaking off , and fight the fish smart take your time with it . thanks for watching and commenting
on the first two snook I was using at 10 lb seaguar fluorocarbon leader, then I went up to a 14lb vanish fluorocarbon leader because the snooks where getting bigger , about 6 foot long both , connected to my 8lb braid with an fg knot , I like to run my leader all the way to the reel . thanks for watching and commenting
I really can't tell any difference , the hurricane is a bit lighter and is saltwater friendly , but I think both Reels are, both have seal stainless steel ball bearings and brass gears . hurricane has less bearings and sometimes less is better . also the hurricane came with 2 spools a shallow and a deep spool . i think the x50 is better option because of the reputation since has more good reviews .
Hernan Haf thank you, I’m still debating between the tsurinoya and sea knight pots but I’m gonna see which casts better, if I have to buy the tsurinoya and the hurricane is cheaper though, I’ll buy the hurricane🤣
@@Bearclaw_Co. I try the sea knight and is not capable to cast any lure under 4 grams .. watch the reel test channel he just did a review of the sea knight and he will do a casting video soon . my opinion get the tsurinoya
Hernan Haf yea that’s what I’ve heard as far as the sea knight. I saw the vid as well as bcsg’s reveiw. I’ll probably get the tsurinoya xf 50, thnks for your info and help
@@Bearclaw_Co. you will be really happy the x50 is the best decision , the hurricane is cheaper just for few bucks .. I actually sold my hurricane to a friend and kept the x50 for myself
Nice point with learning the small bait fish seasons to know what type of lures to use for sport!

Looks like a saltwater version of the xf series. That's neat. How light of lure weights can that reel cast?

I currently have the spinning version of that rod with a 2000 Tsurinoya Saltwater Reel. The bait casters has my interest.
