Femine maxi pads can be used as wound dressings. They're more absorbant than gauze so fewer bandage changes are needed. A few of my cats over the years had cancerous tumors that burst but not as large or inconveniently placed as Benny's.
I may try that if the bleeding picks up. It is lighter and watered down today. I'm giving female dog diapers a try to hold the pads in place. So far he laid down immediately and hasn't moved, so I'll have to test it longer.
