@@kingjoshuamanatad2140 I dont think its a given. Magic was, arguably, getting better moving into the 90s. A better outside shot, and even slicker offensive awareness. The Lakers were losing Kareem around 90 regardless of Magics trajectory, but the Lakers always had major budget, and Magic was able to lead a teams offense epically well.

Chick Hearn relayed a story about Magic. Growing up they would watch games on TV and if someone had a big scoring night Magic would get hyped. But his dad would chime in and say that if someone has a big scoring night it means SOMEONE is getting him the ball. And the became a theme for Magic, placing emphasis on play making and passing.
Magic 🪄 in my opinion I think he would have been the goat 🐐 if he didn’t retire early because of HIV he would’ve played for a while his game didn’t rely on scoring a lot of points to win championships 🏆 it relied on passing the rock having fun and being a good teammate and also scoring in the clutch when needed that man went to 9 finals people need to talk about this guy more I’m telling you ❤😊
In the span of 4 years: High School Champion, NCAA Champion, and NBA Champion. The only Rookie to be NBA Finals MVP. And he did this all before he turned 21 years old! 21 YEARS OLD!! There hasn't been anyone since 1980 who has come close to accomplishing what Magic did in those 4 years. Of all the records that have stood the longest, I don't think any player will ever match Magic being the only rookie to win NBA Finals MVP.
We will never know how great a player Magic, the original M.J. was. Out of respect, and well deserved, he played 2nd fiddle to Kareem Abdul Jabbar for the majority of his career. Pat Riley told him to play a bigger offensive roll and Magic won M.V.P. that year, 1987 I believe.
His greatness was his all around game. Kareem and Magic worked today brilliantly. That is the mark of true greatness. Not this Hero Ball they sell now.
You guys should do this type of video for Patrick Ewing or Ben Wallace. Two Hard nosed big men who in my opinion never get enough recognition in the conversation of great centers.
The Magic man not only the goat pointguard but the best team player I have ever seen,I did not see Bill Russell live.Could do it all, play 5 positions when needed to.He was not about volume scoring which he could easily do but more importantly he was about orchestrating winning basketball,he knew basketball is a team game and have not seen anyone get everyone on the team involved like a fine tune machine. Most viewers go for points but the scientists of the game know you had a floor general,a walking triple double where getting 20+ pts,15+assits,and 9+ rebounds with 1+ steals consistently wins championships. While scoring 45+ points but not having an influence on the overall team offensive production most likely translates into a loss.I think Bird is a close second, then Michael,Lebron,Bill Russell dispute for 3rd place.
Other than traveling and dribbling above the shoulder(carrying). Magic was incredible. He could do anything on the court. Greatest point guard ever, then Stockton.

Nah from the start of 1991, Jordan had that decade locked for him. Ain't no way beating the Bulls in 90's. 80's are for Bird, Magic and Isaiah but 90's was all Jordan.
A remarkable player. Maybe the greatest.
It's awesome how we see these nba legends past black n white photos
In my opinion magic is the best point guard of all time
Of curse
@@jimmy_40 curry best pg all time
@@juwantaylor5293 helll naw
@@jimmy_40 yes. Curry the goat 🐐 pg
@@juwantaylor5293 That would be magic actually.
He was truly magic, and a major force in reviving a dying NBA. He should be getting royalties
Greatest scorer on and off the court since Wilt😂💪🏾
Nonstop Sports i love this kind of video on how good was this player you need to do more of this like next how good was david robinson and other legend men
Best pg ever
100%
YESSSS!Finally!Thanks a lot!:))))
Best Lakers player of all time
Na Kareem was better he’s 2nd-3rd
Ever heard of Kobe?
@@yahlee1802 u only say that cuz he died tbh
@@cosimodicicco1876 I only say that cuz it’s true tbh
@@yahlee1802 Magic is better tho
@Nonstop Sports great documentary love the previous ones too such as wilt Chamberlain and kareem Abdul Jabbar, may I suggest that please make a prime Shaq video but in all honesty damn thx one of the best sports channels in UA-cam by far. Cheers brother
HOW GOOD WAS OL'🐐👑MAGIC JOHNSON#32?? .. AS GOOD AS ANYBODY THAT EVER PLAYED IN THE NBA ..
Chick Hearn relayed a story about Magic. Growing up they would watch games on TV and if someone had a big scoring night Magic would get hyped. But his dad would chime in and say that if someone has a big scoring night it means SOMEONE is getting him the ball. And the became a theme for Magic, placing emphasis on play making and passing.
best pg in my opinion but also if u put him in the league today might not as good
probably would, look at ben simmons he don't shoot the ball yet he still an all star.
@@suck4599 thats true but also he has good playmaking and finishing
@@Cartercutzz where was all that good play making and finishing in last year's playoffs?? Bum Simmons
He’d be better today
@@christian-lf2oc thats true yeah he was really scared last year in the playoffs
Magic 🪄 in my opinion I think he would have been the goat 🐐 if he didn’t retire early because of HIV he would’ve played for a while his game didn’t rely on scoring a lot of points to win championships 🏆 it relied on passing the rock having fun and being a good teammate and also scoring in the clutch when needed that man went to 9 finals people need to talk about this guy more I’m telling you ❤😊
Dude was so good he was an All-Star retired
That’s crazy I’m watching this at Michigan state rn😂
The greatest Laker ever
In the span of 4 years: High School Champion, NCAA Champion, and NBA Champion. The only Rookie to be NBA Finals MVP.
And he did this all before he turned 21 years old! 21 YEARS OLD!!
There hasn't been anyone since 1980 who has come close to accomplishing what Magic did in those 4 years.
Of all the records that have stood the longest, I don't think any player will ever match Magic being the only rookie to win NBA Finals MVP.
The most complete player in the history of the NBA!!!
My favorite player ever
We will never know how great a player Magic, the original M.J. was. Out of respect, and well deserved, he played 2nd fiddle to Kareem Abdul Jabbar for the majority of his career. Pat Riley told him to play a bigger offensive roll and Magic won M.V.P. that year, 1987 I believe.
His greatness was his all around game. Kareem and Magic worked today brilliantly. That is the mark of true greatness. Not this Hero Ball they sell now.
Magic with the fro 🔥🔥🔥🔥
You guys should do this type of video for Patrick Ewing or Ben Wallace. Two Hard nosed big men who in my opinion never get enough recognition in the conversation of great centers.
Congrats on 500k 🥳🥳 keep the bangers coming!!
Magic and Bird saved the NBA itself from bankruptcy. That decade was the golden age of basketball. So entertaining.
I Been Waiting For This
Thank you for coming to my Commander's magic a great basketball player one of my favorites love you.
Been waiting for this one
The GOAT! Best ever no one is even close.
magic not only love basketball, he brings showtime to baSketball
G. O. A. T. Point Guard and my second favorite player behind MJ
One of the best if not the best guard to ever play the game!!
They don’t call him “Magic” for nothing, y’know. 😎
4:51 "Oscar Robinson"
My personal Basketball 🏀 GOAT. 🏀💜💛🏆👍
What’s the song that plays here? @8:25
Magic and Legend are criminally underrated. I'll take these two in their primes on a new team vs. Lebron and Mike.
They said if Legend played MJ one-on-one it would end in a fight.
magic Johnson is my favorite basketball player
25 million for 25 years is WILD
Other than traveling and dribbling above the shoulder(carrying). Magic was incredible. He could do anything on the court. Greatest point guard ever, then Stockton.
Best all time personality in NBA!
25 mil for 25 years is wild
This channel is fire
Bro y isn’t nobody talking about that 25 year 25 million contract 25 years is crazy 😂
Basically a basketball god.. I'm saying top 5 all time. #1 PG & passer ever. GOAT of fastbreaks
MAGIC JOHNSON ONE BEST PLAYER ALL TIMES NBA😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
#1 pg of all time & #5 basketball player of all time.
Def the best point guard and for me, the goat as well.
My father's favorite player. And at 31 years old. And watching the game since 1997, I see why yo!
if you want more behind the scenes of magic and the lakers watch that show winning time on HBO.
Magic is the true GOAT.
