Hi Cassie! That's indeed a lovely book cake you created. Well in the video at 5.33 mnts u asked if there's any other idea to do the bottom part of the book which u forgot it seems. Never mind in case of any such crisis, u can cut a thin strip of fondant or gum paste n stick along with the bottom edges of the book which gives an illusion of bottom cover. I'm yet to make one but I feel this works.
Flipping your cake and adding that cover was probably still be easier way, but you could’ve just added like a strip of fondant around the perimeter of the backside of the cake so without flipping it over, you just put some even strips and sort of let them overlap, and then you cut them at an angle at the corners if that makes any sense and it just gives the illusion that there’s a back cover when they’re really isn’t because it’s just strips going around the perimeter of the back of a cake without flipping it. But your way was probably easier to do anyway.
After completikn of work where to keep the cake in fridge? at the end u pasted the sheet witten a name on it where will I get that. What colour did u use to write
Woww looks great! What exactly did you do to make sure that the cover wasn't going to hang? So what exactly did you mean by "I let it set up for a few hours"?
Hi there! I let it sit out and dry so it became hard enough not to droop. I live in Colorado so that only took a couple of hours for me but may take longer if you live in humidity. I hope that helps!
