A single off of a BBC radio show, Mumford & Sons take on a cover of Not In Nottingham from the Disney Movie "Robin Hood". Written & composed by Roger Miller
OMG I looooove this song!!!! When I was a child I watched the film sometimes more than 3 times a day!!! I'm German and so I was really interested how this song would be in English - and it's soooo amazing!
Best Disney movie ever made! I really enjoyed introducing a kid I thought was going to be my stepson to it and he loved it. Good kid. Wish I could still be involved in his life.
Seriously cool. Always thought this song transcended the movie as a song I could stand to listen to all its own cool to hear an extended version by a familiar band. Id freak right out if I heard them pull this out in concert.
It's because musicians of this era have seratonin receptors that have been fucked up beyond belief, and nobody has the patience or fortitude to carve out a truly unique piece of music. There are exceptions, absolutely, in every genre, but those that break the mold are now few and far between. Original ideas are basically shunned in this day and age of "impersonation culture".
Great cover, first saw the movie in the mid 80s, watched countless times back then, the songs always stuck with me. Great film, just rewatched today for the first time in god knows how many years. R.I.P. Roger Miller
That is some A+, number one, fab town, HOT DANG, “wow-what-a-whistle-blowin” whistle. First time hearing this version, great job🙌🏻🙏🏻! Thank you guys for doin this tune!
This is an absolutely superb cover of the classic song from "Robin Hood". I love the singer's voice - he really makes you believe the song is happening to him. Brilliant, thanks for posting this!
This song was my favorite in the movie as a kid. Somthing about the chords, the melody and lyrics always made me very emotional. I was actualy going to cover it myself but looks like the boys beat me to it!
I love this!!!! I am on a bit of a kick this morning to find every song they wrote or sang. I have a road trip in two days and these guys are great traveling music! They are great anyhow! I am so excited that I found them...
Sheriff of Nottingham: "Criminently", Trigger! Point that peashooter the other way. Trigger: Don't you worry none, Sheriff. The safety's on Old Betsy. Sheriff of Nottingham: What in tarnation you tryin' to do, you birdbrain? Trigger: Just doin' my duty, Sheriff. Sheriff of Nottingham: Oh, you and that itchy trigger finger of yours.
Truth:: Robin Hood is the best Disney movie ever made.
angela mw and zootopia
True, but for Pixar it's Walle
angela mw true, Hercules is pretty great too though.
Born in 81, yup, Disneys Robin Hood is the story I live by...
False. Oliver and Company.
Favourite Disney song.
Favourite band.
And a song about my hometown.
Life = Made.
let the Mumfords record "Oo-de-lally" and "Phony King of England" as well and I'm done asking for things.
Omg please
I completely agree
Dude you left out Whistle Stop but not sure how you can make that one any better seriously some next level whistling in the original.
80 people have never spent time in a Nottingham jail for tax evasion
For "tax evasion"
Wish this song was much longer.
Totally agree
There's a guy on UA-cam who wrote additional verses.

OMG I looooove this song!!!!
When I was a child I watched the film sometimes more than 3 times a day!!!
I'm German and so I was really interested how this song would be in English - and it's soooo amazing!
When you are in isolation because of corona virus, you listen to this :(
True. The robin hood soundtrack is my stay at home album.
Just change the word "down" to "lockdown"
Aye, I am and almost crying...
Exactly.
For real, every day I feel like I'm in the Nottingham jail 😂
That is the most beautiful whistling I have ever heard. EVER.
I am glad someone covered a song from the best Disney movie
This is legit my favorite Disney song and hearing Mumford do this makes me so happy!!!!
God this song is a universal commonality for the melancholy of the middle class and below.
After 6 years... well said
Best Disney movie ever made! I really enjoyed introducing a kid I thought was going to be my stepson to it and he loved it. Good kid. Wish I could still be involved in his life.
Damn my man tears! Favourite movie as a child, favourite movie nearly 30 years later.
+Malone CR my favorite as a kid, and at 38 years is still my favorite too!
I wasn’t ready for the quality of the whistle solo
Seriously cool. Always thought this song transcended the movie as a song I could stand to listen to all its own cool to hear an extended version by a familiar band. Id freak right out if I heard them pull this out in concert.
the music in this cartoon is better written and better delivered then half the pop music of today
So true.

*99.99% of pop music today
the soundtrack alone from Robin Hood is well thought out and executed really well. As opposed to so-called "epic" soundtracks of this age...
I mean, it was done by Roger Miller I believe. A country titan in those days.
Great cover, first saw the movie in the mid 80s, watched countless times back then, the songs always stuck with me. Great film, just rewatched today for the first time in god knows how many years. R.I.P. Roger Miller
That whistle solo!
Oh my god...the harmony!? I wasn’t expecting that...been singing that harmony all by myself for thirty + years now. Wow.
That movie really had some of the most beautiful music
i was watching funny videos and now im crying i dont get this website
The fact that this exists is fn awesome.
One of my favorite Disney songs.
No one better to cover this song than Mumford and Sons..
Yep im in here to. Nottinghan was in deep trouble.
Derbys worst.

I love this song + one day i will visit Nottingham and Robin Hood statue , greetings from Albania🇦🇱

Roger Miller was a fucking genius.
I expected to be soooo mad about this. It is literally one of my fave songs, but this is BEAUTIFUL!!!
That is some A+, number one, fab town, HOT DANG, “wow-what-a-whistle-blowin” whistle. First time hearing this version, great job🙌🏻🙏🏻!
Thank you guys for doin this tune!
The fact that my favorite band did a cover from one of my favorite childhood movies makes it that more sweet
I really love the whistling, guys. Everything is my heart from my childhood.
I could listen to this all day.
Very pleasant surprise, fantastic cover!
The fact that they covered this song officially makes me love this band so god blessed much I could cry.
I am completely BLOWN AWAY!
When you got corona and listen to this 😔
I realize that this was sung at the lowest point in the movie and was meant to be depressing, but this cover is actually really relaxing
Probably because of the additional instruments and backup vocals. The original is much more lonely and raw.
***** and better.
Suddenly so much more in love with this band--my favorite childhood movie and my favorite band...what more could I ask for?!
I love Mumford & Sons but this just threw them over for a whole new round of respect from me. It is a fantastic cover.
Best Band Ever :X keep up the outstanding work boys!!!
Robin Hood!
I grew up watching this movie ALL the time. Absolutely love all the songs! Quote it all the time. So glad so many people love it too.
This is an absolutely superb cover of the classic song from "Robin Hood". I love the singer's voice - he really makes you believe the song is happening to him. Brilliant, thanks for posting this!

I can't get over this cover! So amazing and lovely!
robin hood is my favourite disney movie! I used to watch it everyday when I was a kid

Amazing, perfect song for my winter blues.
ROBIN HOOD... First thing that came to mind. Favorite Disney movie and Mumford & Sons, I'm in heaven!
Roger Miller was known for his upbeat silly songs, but he also wrote some really depressing ones. This is one of them.
.....jeezus even the whistling.....wow....beautiful cover to one of my fave disney songs. Is there a way to buy this??
agreed
Definitely my favorite Disney song of all time and my favorite band. Too good
So happy someone was able to put up a good quality version of this :D Thanks!
Man this song gets me every time... such a good film I'm going to watch it now
Beautiful.
This song was my favorite in the movie as a kid. Somthing about the chords, the melody and lyrics always made me very emotional. I was actualy going to cover it myself but looks like the boys beat me to it!

They are great anyhow! I am so excited that I found them...
64 people live in Nottingham
This version is great, but it will never match the original by Roger Miller ♥
+DarkEmperess86 totally agree
DarkEmperess86 yep
DarkEmperess86 I honestly thought that robin hood was the original version
Roger Miller was the rooster in Robin Hood.
The Fabulous Lommax and also the 78 year old dancing goalscorer for Cameroon in the 1990 World Cup
Definitely brought tears to my eyes!!
Oh my dear goodness. As if i couldn't love them enough:) I can't believe two of my favorite things were united in the most spectacular way!
WOW...This always made me sad, every time I ever watched Robin Hood but this is just completly amazing. Beautiful

I just love the way he sings the word 'darling'!
When I was a little girl, I recorded this song on a tape from the video and I would listen to it over and over. Not sure why, but I this made me cry
Wow! What a brilliant cover!

Wow. Just made my day. Simple things.
Sheriff of Nottingham:
"Criminently", Trigger! Point that peashooter the other way.
Trigger:
Don't you worry none, Sheriff. The safety's on Old Betsy.
Sheriff of Nottingham:
What in tarnation you tryin' to do, you birdbrain?
Trigger:
Just doin' my duty, Sheriff.
Sheriff of Nottingham:
Oh, you and that itchy trigger finger of yours.
Lovely, thanks Gents.
....This is the epitome of awesomeness, you guys. T-T
I love this whistle.
Fantastical. Whimsical. Incredibly bodacious. M&S strikes again. Lifting me up on those days I'm down. Reminding me my heart still beats.
Honestly a good cover of this. I loved this movie as a child, and I grew to love this band, so the two of them mixed? Sign me up.
I am elated a band remembered and loved this song enough to remake it. well done mum & sons
