4For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had. The handicapped were not there at the pool everyday, just when the pool would be stirred, which would only be seasonal, once in awhile, which suggests it was when a hotsprings would flow into the pools. When God heals he doesn't play games,,"last one there is a rotten egg!" He heals not with superstition but with power.
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today (May 26, Easter 6), John 5:1-9 was an option Gospel for us today. However, we read John 14:23-29. Maybe you can do a sermon or synopsis of that passage in the future.
John 5:4 is missing because the scholars have a prejudice against the only pure Bible in English. Those so-called "best" manuscripts are the Vaticanus and Siniaticus, two of the most corrupt manuscripts of Rome. They also remove 15 other passages: Matthew 17:21; 18:11; 23:14; and Acts 8:37 to name a few.
Something is off, I have found these verses, in particular, John 5:3-4 to be completely different in other bibles both online and in my own possession. It could say what this guy is saying in the video, or it could be "5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.". I have a sneaking suspicion these verses where omitted/modified at some point. Seek the Lord for discernment.
If the earlier manuscripts are correct to remove the passage, how would you know if an angel stirred the waters because the passage shouldn't be there.
The grace and Faith in God!!. Very good sermon about healing ❤

What day we that in the Gregorian calendar?
Says WHO?
You got that from HEAR SAY.
Read the TEXT Carefully.
Ummm.... I keep hearing pastors say the stirring pool was a legend. This isn’t a wise approach, imho.
Yah same we're almost certain it's not real as the earliest manuscripts we have do not have the stirring of the pool.
liverpool
Not a legend It’s in the king James
