Introduced to the game when i was just a child Mama love a drug dealer str8 quit her job They took his life and along with him I died she died we died!!! Then came my daughter to my bed side told me daddy dont cry im alive!!!
for those of you old enough ---- leah kunkel is cass elliot's sister (mama cass of mama and papas fame) I was in college when this album came out and I played the hell out of it --- every song is one I loved..... great voice, and great songs.....
Beautiful song. Perfectly song and the musical arrangment in the background couldn't be better. Whoever produced the song for wayne dug in tha crates 4 dis 1. kudos niggaz kudos
+baconandhex he didn't purchase the music or give Leah any credit whatsoever. He didn't clear the sample. I know this because Leah is a friend of mine and this shit angers me to no end.
Many a song has been nothed up by maybe the best backup singer of them all, Leah Kunkel. Her solo efforts didn't go well but if ever there was proof of what a wonderful singer she is, this is it. Thanks so much for sharing.
Don Yowell was a friend of mine. I treasured his friendship. I remember a month of Sundays when he performed at SNAFU in Chelsea. I would rustle up a group of my friends from north Jersey to see him every week. He got a job in Jane Olivor's road band. He'd call me from the road, but his calls got fewer and farther apart. Then they stopped. A couple of years later I found out that he'd died. I was heartbroken. I'm glad to know that he and his songs are remembered.
How lovely. I have Don Yowell's recording of this song. I only heard Don after we lost him; his dear friend Michael Callen sent me a top of Don's unreleased recordings and a VHS of a live performance. Then we lost Michael. So many losses. Leah is so talented and so special. It runs in the family.
Im sure Wayne cosigned it but the beat Wayne rapped on had some drums added to it.. Dont forget the producer.. Shit he probably was the one who introduced this song to Wayne.. Rappers get too much credit sometimes when they have a team of musicians backing them
@The313boi in case you didn't know, REAL HIP-HOP is made from samples, not synthesizers, doesn't matter where the sample is from or how it sounds as the original track, if it works and sounds good?? that's all that matters . . either way, this song is dope, and if you can't feel it then you ain't real . .
Don Yowell was a friend of mine. I have recordings of his performances, but I've never heard Leah Kunkel's version of I Run With Trouble. I can't find the CD anywhere.
Hi VideosForBrian, I would like to chat w/ you about Don Yowell and his music as it pertains to my dissertation topic. I also have a copy of this Leah Kunkel album if you're like a copy. Could you please message me privately? Thanks!
So is she saying she is friends or lovers with Wayne or whats going in here bc I've heard lil Wayne mention a farm girl with cornbraids in the song Krazy or is this a different reference here...
Music Maven And she was married to the great rock drummer, Russ Kunkel. I've never understood why she only released two albums. Perhaps it was because she wanted to dedicate more time to raising her late sister's child. I've always really loved her voice. You can definitely hear a lot of Cass in her singing. You should listen to the ' Coyote Sisters ' album that she's on. Excellent
Lil Wayne’s song trouble brought me here. Nice to know where he sampled it from. Cool song
That was always my favorite Wayne song glad to finally hear the sample. Hauntingly beautiful

Beautiful song. Perfectly song and the musical arrangment in the background couldn't be better. Whoever produced the song for wayne dug in tha crates 4 dis 1. kudos niggaz kudos
Leah you have one of the most beautiful pure voices. The world should listen!
Lil wayne murdered this sample
Corey Cotton I actually think he did a good job.
+I'm Just Trouble :)
+baconandhex he didn't purchase the music or give Leah any credit whatsoever. He didn't clear the sample. I know this because Leah is a friend of mine and this shit angers me to no end.
+Kay Bizzy well it didn't make his album, so therefore I don't think the credit and sample didn't need to be cleared
+Corey Cotton wrong, the song is being sold on iTunes . Therefore they are liable.

But its trouble just the same...💔

As Cass Eliot's sister, I'm surprised she wasn't more famous since her voice is very similar to Cass.

Classic Song. Street Runner Knew What He Was Doing.

Scary to see how deep lil Wayne’s mind explores

Thanks 4 posting this cause I was thinking it was some amy winehouse sample
LiveFifty.Blogspot.com ouch
@The313boi The producer that sampled the track obviously knew the song, that dosent mean the rapper he sold it to knew the original song.

Wayne stole this song from Leah. This song came out in the 70’s. She has received zero compensation or credit from him to this day.
@@KBizzy and people stole half of Wayne discography, he never made one cent of this song since it has never been cleared so stop lying.
@@TheWeezyJayBaby she’s a good friend, he never credited her. All he did was speed up the original track, he didn’t recreate it or anything like that.
@@KBizzy he can't credit something that has been stolen from him

Leah is the daughter of Cass Elliott - looks just like her too
