Honestly??? This made me cry. I'm going through a tough time and I know inflation is happening even in Sky, but the message "It's okay to take a break sometimes" hits me hard. Thank you for this video! It serves as a reminder that we can always be selective about what we want to have in life and most importantly, how it makes us happy is what matters.

As someone who’s been playing since prophecy and has near 3000 candles, I really wish there was an option to gift people igc items. Times are hard for moths rn

I have been playing since prophecy season too but I definitely haven't been as active to have 3000 candles.

yes. some moths and other players have a ton of stuff to catch up on with the leftover items from past seasons, ts, and events its becomes impossible to save and sometimes just need a helping hand with stuff

I'm crying because honestly? I've been hit with such awful FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) after picking up on Sky back at October. The realization of missing out on so many things and not wanting anything to pass me by just makes me scramble harder and harder out of this quicksand of the company getting greedier and greedier. I was genuinely okay with grinding everyday, after burning out once and getting into the groove of a 20 candles a day regime. But then life happened. I don't have free time anymore.
Seeing them say how you don't need to buy anything and that you can take a break almost made me choke up. It's almost all of the comfort I need to be able to let go of chasing after the in-game collection and actually focus on college. I'd still want to get everything I need, but now I'll be able to tell myself it's okay if I ever miss out on anything. It's still going to be there, even if it takes a long time for their events and the TS to come.
And if anything, Sky is originally about the fun you have with friends. You can flex with your capes all you want, but sometimes being a moth with even just a ponytail is enough to experience everything else Sky has to offer. (Though of course, it's still fun to dress up so do what you want to do, as long as it doesn't cost you important time and your health!) 💙
With the addition of shared space spells, until TGC nukes being able to use them at idle wax spots (and geyser) to automatically pop to wax for us, you can get a very large amount of wax and the only work you need to do is go to the spots. It's fantastic. been so awesome for a break from candle running
@@shadowdemonaer Yeah. Sky is mostly a hangout game and an "over glorified dress up", and unlike other games which has actual grinding systems and levels, you don't have to worry as much about getting left behind in Sky. You can still have so much fun as a moth, if anything.

i got this thing after a year i spent on sky....i only get things which m really really gonna use ...missed out a whole season coz i was busy and still feeling good...i only want to have fun there not to be a cosmetic collector noone cares what i have in my wardrobe as long as i can talk and have fun ....we can use this in real life too
Man, this hits hard. It will be my 2 year anniversary of playing sky in 10 days, and even I needed to hear this. After all this time, I still don’t have many things or thousands of candles. It’s okay to play casually.
I've been playing sky for 3 years and I still don't have everything in the constellations unlocked. It's mostly all the stuff that requires hearts, but yeah. I just get what I want and wait for next time, everything always comes back, unless it's ultimate rewards or it's something special like that one v-streamer's cosmetics that was for their retirement.

Same I'm also in my 2 years playing sky without me knowing (I just realized it when I saw my gallery full of sky photos) and I don't even experience having a hundred candles and hearts. and I'm scared to finish quest when krill is involved, I feel like I'm still a moth disguised in cute outfits. 😢
its gonna be my 3 year anniversary on april 8th, and i feel ya. i really wanna get candles and buy stuff, but i just dont have any motivation to.
even as a veteran i could not catch up with the prices, i ended up only buying from events that i liked like mischief, fortune, feast and anniversary plus ts, so i have a few months time to actually gather and collect the candles to prepare myself when those events come
FOMO is tough too, but i have no choice, either i could actually spend my precious time just grinding or spend that time hanging out with friends, i chose the latter
Atleast TGC has changed the length of the event from 2 weeks to 3 meaning longer time to get candles for the capes :)

The problem isn't a TGC thing, but a problem with modern game development as a whole. It's especially prevalent in mobile game market.
The problem is this:
The model is no longer
Good game alone≠big money
It's instead
Good game that's actually a framework to contain parasites towards gaming=big money
Gaming parasites are basically good money making strategies that work well psychologically but take away time from making the game Good and complete in the first place.

It's especially prevalent in mobile gaming because these are games that don't typically have an ending.

@@wikitanI think it's more about how you set your standards because you can still chat and chill and play instruments and you can candle run ,it's very optional because you don't have to own everything in the first place and if you want to you can grind daily to achieve it and if you don't have time that's not the game's problem because you can't have every cosmetic without any work done except buying stuff .
The game rewards you after playing a lot , In this case people usually burn out because of forgetting how to play the game (chatting, fooling around, playing music and enjoying the environment of Sky with or without friends or even randoms ) they are so focused on candle running that they lose focus on the other beautiful things. People expect to get everything with minimum effort and blame TGC in the end . If you basically can't get your cosmetic it's unfortunate and not somebody's fault .
The other thing is cosmetics that are paid .
And for the other hand TGC need money for improvements and stabilization of the game .
Even if the most wanted things are paid they're still other free things and TGC needs some money cuz the game needs to go forward.
There are people who can purchase items and then there're the ones who can't ,again not TGC's fault . Also it's a very good business point actually for them to have some better items to be paid by money so they can have assurance that people would want those things.
Big + is the game is free and people can get stuff only to like themselves more or have more fun and it doesn't change the game's progress. Getting a break or leaving the game is okay but blaming it on TGC is the easiest thing that someone could do.
It's my first Bloom and I got the Sakura cape. I'm very happy with just that alone and don't intend on getting any of the other capes. It's okay to just get what you want and that's it. You're not competing with anyone 🌸
Same, I just want stuff that I vibe with and the rest can be bought never or just another time. The only thing I care about with TSs is the wing buff, the heart and the musical instrument/music sheet

As someone who has an unhealthy ambit of trying to collect all of the objectives in a game this video was like a breath of fresh air I have never heard anyone tell me that it's ok not to do everything in a game
As someone who has played this game for many years, I agree. Many players at this point are so obsessed over collecting the newest accessories that they often forget that Sky was meant for friends, not toxic comparisons over the grind. It’s always okay to take a break and just enjoy after all.
as a new player it's been absolutely savage having to deal with these sky (haha) high prices, it gives us zero chance to fill out the regular constallations and is really off putting! but thank you for the message of you don't need everything... even if I still think the prices are unfairly high >:'C
I agree with this sentiment to a point, and I think it's important for people to take care of themselves first and foremost. But I don't think the responsibility should be on the player. Players shouldn't be punished for *wanting* to get everything. It shouldn't be impossible for them. TGC's job is to make the game enjoyable and support different playstyles, and *everyone* - moth and veteran alike - are rightfully very upset with the inflation that's happening in the game.

I got the cape and table I wanted last year, so luckily fomo isn't stressing me for Bloom. If 'it's ok to take breaks and you don't need to get everything' doesn't work for you, then remember that the only things that go away 'for good' are seasonal ults and very specific items from collab seasons. That cape you'll never wear will come back next year, so just relax.

I didn’t expect that Omori ost damn- but this perfectly sums up how I feel about Sky. I’ve played since Gratitude and just seeing the downhill slope it’s going makes me sad. This used to be one of my favorite games to go on and relax. It’s sad seeing the insane inflation and sure while TGC did address this whole situation, it still sucks this is happening. I just wish they couldn’t have to make the game feel so grindy most of the time with their insane prices (yes I already know there’s gonna be comments saying to “tAKe bReAks” and yea I have. Every time I come back it just feels like going back into the same groove of ‘what event is coming’ and ‘I need to cr’). Granted, they’ve started adding the whole seasonal spirits come back now, so I’m real curious how that goes, but I still personally feel like it’s not enough (esp new moffs?! How are they gonna get a cape that’s like 100+ that literally looks like sashimi?!)
yeah as a moth it was really hard starting out, especially since i felt like veterans looked down on me for not being able to know where or what or how, and would much rather spend time with people who already are all set, it was kinda shit tbh but now i have 100+ candles hehe :)

what a fun, well done animation! i was sucked into the hoarding mentality as well (i still kinda am, but less so with iap's) for the longest time until there was just too many things getting released one after another, i couldn't afford it anymore. the sooner you learn the lesson, the better!!

Agreed! Inflation is horrible but best way to not get burnt out is take it slow, take breaks, suit it to your needs, find what makes you comfortable. As a new player, seasonal events you can leave be. They will return so save your candles at that period. Seasons don’t come back so use your seasonal candles wisely and leave the constellation spirits to went you have nothing else to spend on.
it’s not just not having to buy everything- fundamentally, one does not need to buy *anything* to enjoy sky.

I legit got the hair but I am still processing on what to get. Thankfully it's until April 9th reset for it to be over and I still have a lot of time to cr. Also fun fact, the first thing I got as a cosmetic other than the hairs from the spirits was the pink bloom cape, as a moth! I literally grinded for those 70 candles before the event finished like a mad woman XD

I find it's something to remember. You don't *need* every item. I don't really want half. I used to look through the wiki and sigh over every cosmetic, but what that means is that when the time comes to choose I already know what I really want and what I don't mind not having. As a moth, it got me my fave cape early, and it still holds a special place in my sky kid heart ^^. Yes, it meant missing out on a popular mask, but of the two I was happiest with the cape.

i'm used to buying every single IAP items. last rainbow event i bought every single item. and i don't even use those cosmetics now. now i don't do that anymore. i got the violin because i'm a musician..skipping oreo. and in future i'll just get something that i know i'm gonna use constantly
its really hard but hey these are some of the capes that return every year so there is no need to rush. You can work on it slowly. Thats what I do. It helps
I've been playing for nearly 2 yrs and lately it's become easier to skip out on stuff. Remembrance ends in 12 days and I still haven't bought from 2 spirits. Used to be the person who wanted all season cosmetics. Not getting the new Bloom stuff either. Much rather save that energy for stuff I really really want

I think we also have to remember the world has expanded and keeps expanding. It's actually really easy to get 20 candles in a day now that it ever was and I'm sure tgc knows that. Plus, these capes keep coming back around. Just wait till your first season ends so your leftover orange candles get converted to white ones and you'll have a big base of candles to buy stuff with. It's ok not to buy everything this year, or next year. I had enough candles for butterfly feeder and still didn't get it. I gave out candles for hearts to friends instead _>

YES I always say it's okay to take a break. Event cosmetics do come back, sure it does suck that you have to wait a whole year, but that is okay! I've been playing since Dreams and I don't have all the cosmetics. Your mental health is more important than cosmetics in a game. If you really want to candle run and get an item, do it, heck get some moths and bring them with! I like to put a video on on my computer while I candle run, or I turn off the in game music and play my own music. Don't force yourself just because you feel you have to, at the end of the day you don't. I do wish we could gift IGC items(someone mentioned this as well here) I think it'd be a nice thing for those who want to give their friends gifts through the game, but don't have actual money to do so.
