Sounds like how in my opinion a car should sound like. No pops an bangs... Pure symphony.
I really dislike how newer cars have such artificial exhaust sound its like all aftermarket exhausts these days are paired with a pops and bangs tune

Totally agree! I much preferred the velvety smoothness of the old “Small” M20 and “Big” M30 engines in ‘70s and ‘80s BMWs. I loved my ‘80 528iA (E12) which sounded so good. My current 2020 M340i has too many pops and crackles for my liking!
Totally agreed 🎼🎻 In our era a pop meant, open your chequebook. You had a fuelling/detonation issue, if not fixed - bye-bye engine. Fuel injection was a game changer. Ironically the guys from Stuttgart where early to use it.
my dad had a 525 from 79 with chrome side mirors i remember was 17 and was in love with the car .....i drove it often without permision . A year later had my drivers license and bought a e21 6 straight 5 gear ... the engine was a beautifull refined sound
Old M30 and M20 BMWs sound SO much creamier and more velvety than modern ones (I know because I’ve owned everything from a 1980 E12 528iA to my current 2018 440i Coupe...
Mechanical symphony without modern electronic & emissions interference, or the worst engine sound killer; turbos 🤤

@@andrewtopgtate111 hope you get it done, been lucky to be passenger when my mom got it from new and later got to drive it my self, and 80's was crazy haha. Maybe interesting to know, the rear wing (will also be extremely hard to get or impossible) was not mounted but delivered with the car in the trunk for customer to decide to mount it, the car needed it, most did. Think they will become valuable when people realize this is the first BMW Motorsport 5 series and to does who know arguably the most pure
