I’ve heard of test elevator for a bit, and even from the thumbnail I could tell that it was similar to Regretevator. I even thought it was made by the same devs, but no. Personally, I prefer Regretevator more as a Regretevator fan, but I do have high hopes for TE as well :)
I hope it goes on its own direction, cause right now it is legit a rip-off of regretevator, and doesn’t really add anything new to the elevator mini-game type roblox experience. The devs of regretevator feel the exact same way about this as well, and outright dislike test elevator for its lack of originality
Im sorry but the game sucks,theres barely any floors with minigames and stuff,u cant campar regretevator to that,it just look like a cheap copy of regretevator
im gonna be so honest this game is SO trash.. and if you dont feel like seeing me go on a rant, dont press read more. it uses public music on the roblox catalog AND they use a kids music website called beepbox. MOST OF THE CHARACTERS ARE JUST CHARACTER TRAITS FROM REGRETEVATOR IF THEY WERE SEPERATED, paintfull is literally a gnarpy ripoff, etc some of the animations are LITERALLY public on the CATALOG, again, paintfull's walking animation is something that is free for use on the library, you might ask how i know this? I HAVE IT IN MY INVENTORY!!, ITS NAMED (Run v2) and its really noticable because the arms on the animations go up alot , and also Waffles animations are just the r15 bold animation, but converted to r6 using a plugin, and how do i know this? COMPARE THE 2, SEE HOW HIS ARM GOES UP, THE SAME AS THE r15 BOLD ANIMATION? and dont get me fucking started on how unoriginal this game is. backrooms level,coins make the same sound-- actually fuck it, COINS IN GENERAL!! the BACKROOMS black bars are so FUCKING BIG!! it takes up a 3rd of the screen, and the amount of glitches in this game, ill just list them here Sun and Moon Level: You can stand for 1 minute without taking damage, and you randomly die without even doing anything. Settings: You have to mute the music every single time you die. All levels in general: Sometimes you just dont teleport to the elevator and you just fall and die Animations: when holding the ice cream sandwich, you do the walking animation even while standing im gonna go to sleep edit: i have found that they are actually starting to get animators instead of using free model animations,and getting bettet music, but there are downsides on how THEY LITERALLY ADDED A DR. RETRO RIPOFF THAT LITERALLY LOOKS LIKE SOME KIND OF CREEPY ASS SHIP CHILD BETWEEN CHEEKY (that blue sphere with a drawn on face) FROM MUGEN, DR. RETRO AND MR. they made one of paintfulls lines so fucking self aware and attempted to make it funny that it isnt even fucking funny it just comes off as fucking annoying,AND AGAIN JUST LIKE THE FUCKING RIPOFF THE GAME IS, THEY ADDED A DEATH SCREEN WITH RANDOM SENTENCED ON “You died” AND SHOWING HOW MANY TIMES THIS OR THIS HAPPENED. AND THEY ADDED A BIGGER LOBBY WITH THE DEVS, AND A FUCKING SHOP. IT IS SO HARD TO FIND NEW IDEAS THAT ARENT JUST SHIP CHILDREN ASS CHARACTERS OR HAS CHARACTER TRAITS FROM REGRETEVATOR!!! HOLY SHIT I FUCKING HATE THIS GAME EVEN MORE
Literally, but somehow people will still defend this game, and for some reason say its so much better, now i know it isnt my place to talk since, for some reason, the creator of regretevator supports this game, i dont know why, i mean they dont even care the game is a legit rip off, nothing is original, but people will say "regretvator is a rip off of normal elevator" bro, its a genre, i mean of course theres alot of elevator games that seem the same, but regretevator did it much differently then a normal elevator game, then people will say its because the game is new, which is a horrible excuse, they still straight up stole a whole bunch of ideas, of course it isnt bad getting some ideas or inspirations, but this is just all stolen ideas, nothing is original besides the characters, barely, most of them have very obvious similarities, i know when i was talking about it in the regretevator server, everyone defended the game, and just mocked me, some didnt even make valid arguments, a higher rank said "the developers are new, let them copy so they can learn!" which is also a horrible idea, since they are justifying stealing, then theyll continue to do so, they straight up copied the backrooms floor, the shop menu, the floors are just absolutely lazy, one just being a very small desert, you sit there for a while doing nothing, literally how could this game be better than regretevator. Plus they dont seem to care of others opinions, since i heard that a UGC creator didnt want them using one of their items, but refused to care. The game just sucks, it isnt fun, and there isnt anything original, why have more of the same game, when they literally rip every idea from it, thats why most elevator games arent popular, only a certain amount that do it differently.
My friend and I played this game recently (and no we didn't know the creator was problematic at the time), and we joked about how the npcs were just weird ship children (like how Mr. Badger has traits of Mark and Infected), but honestly a lot of the npcs in TE are really low effort, like how Darkwin has the roblox guest shirt in Japanese just like Pest except with inverted colours, how Mr. Bob is literally just an MR knockoff and there's also a WillaimPlayz57 knockoff that I forgot the name of, and how Blob is just Gregoriah but with no voice acting and looks even more like a furry. And also I'd like to add that pretty much all of the floors (except knock-off Fun Flood At Squishy's and Wall Of) are nothing burgers where you really can't do anything except walk around. Also then npcs have limited dialogue to one another, I kept seeing Mr. Badger and Darkwin repeating the same conversation over and over again, not to mention said conversation was very generic imo. So really, this game does just get really boring after a while and honestly I feel like the only thing I liked about the game was Xen's character design.

i think that test elevator is just a copy of regretevator in which only the characters differ. even the damn interface and elevator design are just a copy :/ the game itself is still empty, there is no interesting lore, no interesting characters, and even the floors are kind of boring idk, the game didn't make a huge impact
some of the characters are clearly rip-offs from regretevator ones, too. for example, Blob is literally a less goofy Gregoriah rip-off. Infact, he is also in a flood level just like him

difference being regretevator expanded on the elevator game format and had many unique features and floors that set it apart from other elevator games, while this game took all the things that regretevator did and just retextured them
imo I don't like it, the NPCs look ugly, levels aren't exactly creative, its also just poorly made and feels *rushed*. i would say more things but i only played it for like 7 minutes before i got bored.
