Patriarch Kirill read an akathist in front of the icon from the cell of St. Serphim of Sarov

On April 19, 2024, on the eve of Saturday of the 5th week of Great Lent - the Feast of Praise of the Mother of God (Saturday of the Akathist), His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' performed Matins with the reading of the Akathist in the Cathedral Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow. According to tradition, the Seraphim-Diveyevo Icon of the Mother of God “Tenderness”, the cell icon of St. Seraphim of Sarov, which is kept for a year in the cross church of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God at the Patriarchal Residence in Chisty Lane in Moscow, is brought to this service. Today, having performed glorification in the cross church of the Patriarchal residence, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill transported the revered image to the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. The Seraphim-Diveyevo icon was met by bishops, clergy of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, and believers. The icon was installed on a lectern in the center of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
