- New Tribes 3: Rivals playtest just dropped with custom lobbies so you know the first thing we're going to do is PUG. This is the very first pug ever recorded in Tribes 3 - it was great to get a glimpse at what teamplay and coordination might look like in this game on Katabatic no less.

So...when are they actually adding the real Katabatic map?
That's not Katabatic :( mountains was much higher than that, Katabatic at T2 was a amazing Map, relative balanced. this is like a tournament sized arena for ice based battlefield. I'll return when Tribes 3: Rivals comes with tanks and shrikes, turrets, inventory stations, mines, generators and huge map. That was one of the essence of team based sci fi combat :) not just spinfusor mid air hits and break necking speed to capture the flags.. its much more than that :)
I requested access and got accepted. This has been such a blast to play, I had almost forgotten how much I love playing Tribes.
The way HoFing works now, I was defending our flag and getting spanked by cappers, it feels very different being the goalie compared to T:A.
Which I like, sort of. Not been all that good at it so far, but I'm learning.

Man, watching Tribes all over brings back memories. Makes me wonder if mortar jumping survived to this generation. I last played around 2003, man the ladders was fun, playing HO was fun. Now I think "Will my wrists last long enough to get back the old habits?", but then I realize "Humans taste like ... chicken"

@@shawnlabs yeah I got the playtest invitation yesterday and stopped the installation at the anti-cheat step. Unfortunately, I will not be playing this if it requires this software.
Tribes has been too simplified in Tribes 3. 😢

I didn't really get the idea behind third slot repair tool for each class. And hitboxes are comical large. I made way to many ma's :p
Definitely don't love that they took away our third weapon slot. People were complaining about the weapons being not very good but at least they were another option for finishing off low HP targets. /shrug

Yeah I see almost every streamer accidentally doing this to 🙈 they should just disable shooting in spawn if there's no point

What did you think of the projectile speed in the latest playtest?
What about the inheritance sliders? What inheritance settings do you use?
I have 100 forward 50 lateral
I think projectile speed is tuned to be too fast in this patch. I hope they land somewhere between this and last patch.
@@omgitsfishstix thanks! Did you mostly use the normal spinfusor in T:A instead of blink?
Yeah I found them to be a bit too fast too. It seemed to make fights more dynamic and I suppose it helped less experienced players land more midair shots, but it was a bit much. Assault rifles in particular felt a bit too close to hitscan imo.
