I LOVE my Johnson coat - I also bought the grey check version -it's one of the ones that are 100% wool. Note: you do have to check the composition depending on the colour as they aren't all 100% wool. As a Canadian, though, it's light weight for a winter coat. This is a fine coat for the south coast of BC - but if you experience serious sub-zero winter temperatures this will be a nice Fall/Spring coat only.
Great video thank you. Love tho first coat. With the Clyde, I recommend folding up the ends of f the sleeves to show a hint of the check underneath. It looks more flattering I think. ❤
Thank you so much for including the Clyde! I’ve been anxiously awaiting this review since ever since you messaged me back saying you would add it. I agree with you…it’s too long for petites. I’m also 5’2” and I think altering it to have it hemmed would make the cost too high for what it’s worth. I did see a very similar style from & other stories that might work better. It’s missing the lovely checkered lining though and to me that lining is what makes Clyde so special. The Calixte coat, wow that’s gorgeous and looks so cozy. But at $900 here in the US, it is way out of my budget. Plus orders over $800 have extra custom charges added. I can’t even imagine what the final cost would be.
Gladly ❤️❤️ Yes, having it hemmed will of course add costs, but on top of that I think it will loose some of the "style", because the last button will then be very low and that might look a bit strange ? 😊 Oh wow, I had no idea about the extra custom charges ! For a coat already at this price, it's indeed a lot then 😵💫
A great review, thank you, I find ( being only 5 foot) on a lot of coats which are not styled specifically for petites, that the lapels are always too big/ to low and swallow me !
Thank you, I'm happy you like it 😊🥰 It was indeed a huge parcel, I probably could have almost fit inside, and particularly heavy 😅 Funny thing is, as always in such cases, I was at home but they decided to bring it to a pick up shop 🙃 Out of all my Sezane orders, it had to happen with this one 🤣 It was only 15mn by foot but I had to take the car. When my husband wondered, I simply told him that I probably cannot carry the package for more than 20 meters 😂😂
Thank you! I’m quite a small figure too, not exactly petite, and didn’t like the Clyde trench. But I loved the coat version. Somehow it sits differently on me and it works. Other than this one and one more belted coat I have from the brand, I’m not too big a fan of their coats. Thanks for your review!
I've noticed that the cloth composition varies for a lot of sezane items depending on the colour and it makes a big difference sometimes in the fit of the garments. For example the Martin crop pants in wool look great on me, while the ones in linnen don't fit me at all. So always worth checking the details closely.
I am also petite and most of the Sezane coats look hideous on me. Makes me chunky and fat looking though I am not fat… So I gave up on those, but I actually got the Calixte last year and love it for tge cold weather! It is just a supercute jacket and I love the pilot bomber jacket style collar alot! Also I don‘t need a scarf if it is cold! Do you keep yours?
thanks for the great review. i hope you can touch more gently the pieces especially you are going to return them because someone gonna get it later on, thx.
Thank you for watching! 😊👍 And thank you for your concern, don't worry I am being careful with the pieces, and they are being checked by Sézane before accepting any return ❤️
Thank you for the review, very helpfull because i am a short person (160 cm). Loved the Johnson coat on you! Looking forward for part 2. Kind regards Trees
Hi, does the Simon feel warm, enough for mild winter? Is it a nice weight? It looks really light in this video. Is it soft to the touch, or scratchy? I know you said it was roomy, but I think this size is just right on you. It doesn't look oversize like they say in the description. Plus it"s a bit tight when zipped all the way up. Overall, do you think it"s worth 290 Euros?
Hi Marie ! For a mild winter (not going below 5 to 10°C), I think it will be warm enough, especially with a good jumper under it 😊👍 Indeed, it was not very heavy ! I would say it was normal to the touch, neither super soft (not like velvet for example) nor scratchy. Mmmh it is roomier than the Calixte for example, although I had it one size smaller, so it is not that tight. If you want a roomier feel, then if you're between two sizes you could take the bigger one (for example for me a 36 instead of the 34 of the video) 😊 But I would have had space for a thicker jumper without problem. Maybe not 3 layers though! It's hard to say if it's worth it or not, because that also depends on a lot of individual factors, but if you really like the style, don't already have 20 similar ones, and this is for you an acceptable price point for a coat, then yes, I think it's worth it 😊 The quality felt good 👍
@iwonadziuba698 totally understand ! The woolen ones were quite similar from the warm point of view honestly 😊 They will be good for a mid winter, but it definitely won't be enough for temperatures under 0°C, with a really warm cashmere jumper+heattech+warm scarf you might manage under 5°C 😊
The Clyde has never interested me as a petite (5ft) I am not a fan of the oversized look on myself, I prefer a tailored look. I love the CALIXTE coat but I already have a sheepskin coat…they are so cozy!
Yes, oversize on petites is really tricky, I avoid it too ! 😊 Calixte is gorgeous and indeed super cosy 🥰❤️ But yes, no need for 20 different sheepskin coats that's for sure !!
Hi, Delphine! Greetings from California! I'm new to Sezane and recently discovered your channel. I love your videos. They're so informative. Already subscribed! On the subject of coats, I recently purchased the Paolo coat in Khaki Check. I'm 5'7" with more of a boyish figure, and I'm typically between a 34 and 36. Sezane's sizing recommendation was to choose the size below, so I ordered the 34. It fit but was too narrow across the chest and buttoned up, it was constricting across my back and chest when I moved my arms. I have narrow shoulders and no bust to speak of, so I was surprised by the fit. I sent it back and ordered the 36 instead. That fit much better and was more comfortable to move around in. It's slightly oversized and roomy enough for a thick sweater underneath. The fabric feels nice and is warm, but probably best for autumn or mild winters. Then when Sezane released the Armando coat in Rust Blue Check, I had to get it too. Their sizing recommendation is to choose the size below, but after my experience with the Paolo coat, I ordered the 36 instead of the 34. That was the right choice. Similar fit to the Paolo coat in 36, since it seems to be the same shape. This coat is so cozy! The fabric is softer than the Kahki Check Paolo coat and it's lined inside with faux sheepskin. It feels like a hug. The faux sheepskin collar can be removed if you prefer just the regular collar. I was thinking you should try this coat if you like the Rust Blue Check pattern. Since you liked the Calixte coat (looked adorable on you), I thought the Armando in Rust Blue Check might be a nice alternative. Granted the lining is faux sheepskin, not real like the Calixte, but it's cheaper and longer, and still very cozy. If you decide to try it, I'd love to know what you think. Since you're petite, you should probably try the 34. I thought the Johnson, the Andrew, the Calixte, and the Simon looked good on you. Did you decide to keep any of them? Looking forward to Part 2!
Hi Edith !! Greetings from Munich 🥰 Thank you for your lovely detailed comment, so much super useful information ❤️❤️ Ah ah funnily just before you wrote the comment I ordered for part 2 the Armando in that exact print and color 😂 Did you send me a telepathic message ? 🤔🥰 This time I didn't keep any of them, I would like to find a new coat but I already have quite a lot and I'm very picky 😂 I hesitated for the Calixte, because I need really warm coats for winter here (we can go easily down to -10°C and have 2-3 months with sub-zero temperatures). But I personally like these warm coats to be longer, when I'm standing around at the playground with the kids, I want at least the upper part of my legs to be covered too 😅🙈
@@delphinthecity Wow, what a coincidence! Great minds think alike, I guess. Glad to hear you ordered the Armando coat for part 2. I'm really looking forward to hearing what you think of it. I'm wondering if you've ever tried the shearling Nico coat. It's gorgeous, but so expensive. I suppose I should be grateful it's unavailable in my size, otherwise I'd be so tempted to get it. For really cold temperatures, I actually prefer puffy down coats. Maybe not the most chic look, but they're so light weight, insulating and warm. If you don't already have a down coat, you should consider it. Looking forward to your next video! ❤

I swear the happiness I feel when yutulu uploads a video is beyond!!!!
I think the Clyde looks great on you! I have the same one and get many compliments 🥰

That's definitely a lovely styling tip 😍
Thank you for the review❤I think Calixte is keeper, you looked great in it!
Thank you for watching 🥰🥰
The Johnson ist fabulous.❤
Can't wait for the Viktor and Mederick coats. I have long arms and hope the sleeves are long enough.
I just placed my next coat order, and added these two 🥰❤️
Well the Johnson has higher quality material but the Andrew has more style, this review was really helpful, xo
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it 🥰

Oh that's good to know for the coat version of Clyde, thank you for sharing 🥰❤️
The andrew coat in the colour sienna is 100% virgin wool and really warm without being heavy.
Oh nice to know about the material composition difference, thank you !!
I wasn’t aware about this either! Just checked and the blue Andrew coat is also 100% virgin wool. 🎉

But I don't think I'll keep it, I need longer warm coats in the cold here 😊

I think the Calixte is actually the warmer ! The only inconvenience is that it is shorter 😕
