Yule Log; a thin sheet of cake, covered with custard, rolled up and decorated with frosting to look like a tree log. Generally decorated with sugared fruit to look like berries. I make a chocolate Yule Log with orange cream custard. In the fall I make a pumpkin roll, but not usually frosted or decorated except at Halloween.

I have made several pop-up cards. One I completely did by using different images of my "kid's" favorite things. I cut out the stay puft marshmallow Man from ghostbusters, Loki from marvel comics, a dinosaur, Kermit the frog, Stitch, a wrestler Drew McIntyre, Martin Truex and a pic of me and husband. The card said happy birthday from your favorite things! Had balloons and Loki was holding a HBDAY banner bc the image I found his arms were spread out.
So fun! Love all these ideas for pop up cards!

When you start a card, how do you gather your supplies and what do you put them in?
What cutting machine do you recommend for a beginner. I have a scan n cut which I could possibly use but would have to trace all the dies to do any cutting so I think a machine for the dies you use may be best. I'd appreciate your input.
