This is the first time I've ever been to a gamestore mentioned. Went to the Dice Dojo back in 2014 for Dice Masters Nationals. The basement was packed!
Congrats on the 100,000 views! Dice Dojo is a really nice and large board game store. I’d also recommend Games Plus which is in Niles. Great all-around board game stores. Hopefully TMB remains in your collection. It’s such a great game and I’m eagerly anticipating Unbreakable to finally arrive!
One thing that is for sure, even if it does leave my collection (again :) ), history says it will find it's way back... This is the third time I have owned it. To be fair, I had the first printing (second hand eBay), sold it to get the 3rd printing, and sold that with the intentions of eventually picking up this slim box version. I have already gotten it to the table and played some Patches and Tantrum against Nom for a warm up. Patches in the Fatigue rounds for the win!
I appreciate it, and certainly hope that it provides a little stress relief for someone deciding to take that Chip Theory plunge. Also, I have been to Games Plus once as well, they have a really nice store. What puts the Dojo over the top for me is all of the stuff you don't expect to find there. Last time I was there I bought a brand new copy of the ORIGINAL Dresden Files RPG off the shelf new, for retail price. It had been out of print for years at that point lol. Then yesterday with the TMB stuff, just shocking how much that they keep in stock!
@@booksbricksandboards783 That is true about Dice Dojo. Games Plus, every now and then, receives stock of little known Kickstarters. Both are great for different reasons. When it comes to TMB, those endings are the most exciting and fulfilling!
Agreed. Too Many Bones plays out like a prize fight sometimes. Just when you think there is no chance to win you hang around until an opportunity presents itself and you throw the haymaker that puts down the baddie!
Quess i would buy tink and gasket or ghillie together with 40 days in daelore before i would buy undertow, would cost a bit more, but i have the best extra gearlocks and way more Encounters. Greetings from Germany, great Video.
Danke! Tink is my favorite Gearloc to play. I think I prioritize Undertow just because the totality of adding 2 Gearloc options, a bunch of enemies, some solid encounters, and nice mini campaign mode, is a lot of value for the cost. I can see why you would go the route you are suggesting though.
My desk mic is a PRoar (not sure it was a Father’s Day gift), my lapel mics were the cheapest ones available on Amazon at the time. I believe they were $30 for two mics and a charger. Thanks for watching!
That is an option. In my experience, the encounters are largely similar with minor tweaks (with some obvious exceptions), whereas the additional Gearlocs provided much more variety of gameplay. I also still believe that the combination of Gearlocs, baddies, Tyrants, and encounters that one gets in Undertow, makes it the best per dollar investment to add replayability to the game. Thanks for sharing your opinion, AoT and 40 Days are both excellent, I just think it takes a bit longer before they become a priority than you do.
@@booksbricksandboards783 yes 40 Days is along the lines of what you say, more of the same even though the encounters have more variations. But the special event cards from age of tyranny are a must imho. Honestly playing same first 3 days is the only large flaw of the base box (except for the manual). So I find that one to be essential.
@@TexMurphy97 I could see that. Like I said I have all of it, so I was trying to determine if my funds were more limited what could I live without. For me, the first three days are really prep for the main adventure at any rate, so I don't mind them being the same. I still enjoy the extras, just don't consider them essential to my experience. Still worth the investment though!
Nugget isn’t bad, I just don’t enjoy her play style. She is kind of a brawler (with her sword), but I like Tantrum or Gasket better for that. Her uniqueness comes from her loot interactions, but I never really prioritize loot because it is often very situational. It is the curse of there being too many options that are viable. I don’t like playing her, but I know she is quite effective.
@@booksbricksandboards783 i think nugget best asset isnt her loot. its her being melee range. with lots of dice, has best movement in game, best initiative, and triple turn combo (at times) to defeat even level 20 baddies.
@@IamJFD Again, I didn't say she wasn't good. I said I didn't enjoy her playstyle. There are other gearlocs that do the parts I like (namely the brawling) which I enjoy more. The parts that are unique to her are largely her interactions with loot. I would argue that Dart has much better movement. Several other gearlocs have movement buffs that are around the same impact as Nugget. I would much rather play Tantrum, Picket or Gasket if I wanted to brawl. If I wanted mobility, I would play Dart. If I wanted a more unique experience I'd play Tink (my personal favorite). There just isn't a scratch that Nugget itches better than other options for me.

Great shop! Stop there every time I go through Chicago.

This was a fun watch and good intro for newcomers

Thank you for this, your videos are so lovely and useful!
Very welcome! Glad it can be of some value.
great video! your audio is very quiet though compared to the ads that play
Sorry about that, constant struggle to have balanced audio, especially with the ads that are inserted by UA-cam. Thanks for watching!
Hey, Justin, nice video! Just curious: what is the model of that mic? It looks awesome.

I really think Age of Tyranny and 40 days are the first purchase after the Base Game

makes sense.
