02:08: Lolll. The rotten stem review was from me! Otherwise good plant shop but on that occasion I was really disappointed as the entire plant was buried in the pot way too deep and newly developing leave was completely destroyed by mold.
Also, you clearly received an exceptionally big leafy end cutting of the plant. ... Lucky mr Sheffield! 😂
Really?? That’s funny
One thing about thai constellation..... do not water it untill fully checked ...it needs a drier side
Lol Small world, curious what part of the world this Amazon listing is getting shipped to?! I’m in the US
What a coincidence 😂
I bet they follow him so saw it was an order from him and gave him a good one....
Cutting??? That's a whole damn plant! Dang
they realized who was the buyer and got the best they had at the moment for some free advertisment 🤣🤣🤣
Nah it was my personal account 😁
Hmmm, sending you a whole plant gave them a good plug on your channel😊
Loved the nightmare scene 😂👌🏻❤️
Cheers!
Oh god he has the ultimate Dad Outfit
Guys I think he's becoming the ultimate Plant Parent
Cheeky 😅
I was pretty sure I saw 2 different colored socks too! 😂😂
Plant Dad 🪴 🥰
Wow. I was gonna say what you said...that's not a cutting that's a plant. Very nice
best unboxing. no fuss, no bluff. just unboxing. great plant.
Much appreciated
Nice to see a company caring about the product that they are selling, very rare commodity in the horticulture industry.
Really enjoying the upgraded editing style and subtle storytelling mixed in.
Cheers!
I usually buy my more unusual plants from Etsy. It's nice to support smaller businesses. That is a beauty though; you may have changed my mind!
That's my review on the Thai Con at 2:05; it's absolutely enormous and just pushed out a huge mature leaf with sectoral variegation and galaxy speckling. 100% recommend Tropical Plants UK. I was worried about putting down £50 for an online purchase but was really impressed with what I got!
Small world!
She is a BEAUTY! I wish that Seller was in the States.
lol Amazon sales must be going crazy now!!! Enjoy your Monstera!!!
Thanks!
Richard's house is like a black hole for plants: there's always room for more.
😂
Yes absolutely one more!!!!
Love it!!!
Tips from someone with a Thai:
•preferably put in a very chunky mix, chunkier than the sybotanica aroid mix to prevent rot. (The mother plant of Thai constellation had root rot making all the other Thai constellations susceptible to rot.
•they don’t like wet feet.
That’s me, touching every plant in the plant store.
The nightmare 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 " brown leaf no no"
On another note, how gorgeous is that plant? Absolutely beautiful. Looking forward to seeing her grow
😁
Dude all I got from this video is that you're very tall. The plant was also nice.
I got a bunch of plants off Amazon as a gift and they were all perfectly healthy and beautiful! I was shocked lol
beautiful plant. I would love to see an update on it in the next few months
Will do!
That's definitely a real beauty! Via Amazon last autumn I bought a few smallish houseplants (from Perfect Plants in Sussex, I couldn't get out). Normal monstera, rubber plant and asparagus fern. All wonderfully healthy still growing strong for a good price, glad I took the risk. :)
Great stuff 👍
Hey, thanks for the advice Mr. Sheffield. I just now received my second grow light and my moisture meter. I'm very busy catching up on all your other video's also. Their all brilliant and very interesting. You have a good day with the Mrs. Peace.
Thank you 😊
Love how funny this video is. You have a great sense of humor!
Glad you enjoyed!
So glad to see that, not only were you spared disappointment, you got a beautiful, established young plant ready for display. Congratulations!
Thanks!
After this I might start exploring Amazon for plants. What a deal you got.
Wow! I would have never thought of ordering a plant from Amazon…..great deal ! The prices are finally going down here in Canada and more available to buy so I just bought my first 4 inch pot for a good price…keep us posted !
Same here
My niece will order plants from Amazon and she's had no problem with them. But anyway, that's a really nice plant you got! It looks really good!😊
Etsy has a wide selection too
Being disabled I buy all of my plants from amazon, I've never been disappointed. Although be careful with seeds, I bought a bag of wild flowers mix and all that grew was weeds and a cannabis plant!😲
I purchased live plants from Amazon a couple of weeks ago and they arrived beautiful and ready to plant. I would order again.
The weirdest thing i buy off amazon is live ladybugs for my garden. ❤
Congratulations..all the best luck with it 😃🪴
Thank you!! 😁
I love how the first review you looked at was from someone called KUSS-TOMER 😂
😂 didn't notice
You got a really good deal.
Two weeks ago we were at a comedy show hosted by one of the local churches and right in the entrance hall were two decent sized monstera. When we left I found one of the staff and asked if I could take a cutting. They were so sweet to let me have one. I got one small enough to not hurt the profile of the plant, but big enough I've got three cuttings to propagate!
Very generous
I love the story telling in this one!!! Loved the going to the shop and the nightmare! I’ve seen plants on Amazon here in the US but never had the nerve to try. Maybe I will, one day…
Awesome! Thank you!
Congratulations 🎉 Mr Sheffield on your Monstera Deliciosa Variegated find. He or she looks amazing ❤️🌱🪴 👌
Thank you kindly
Wow that plant is beautiful
Very good buy. More plant shops should be this generous.
Rich, I know by your video you bought rare monstera from Amazon. You have been rewarded with a grown plant instead of a small start. All your hard teaching has a reward beyond price. Keep on keeping on. Your are the best. I never miss a vid. Love to you and your plant family and you wife and kids
Thank you very much!
Lovely and they didn’t know you are a UA-camr!Hi from coastal Maine🦞🦞😊
That's right!
I’d say that was more than successful! I really enjoyed the editing style on this video, Richard. Nicely done 👌
Much appreciated!
it's lovely! i'm so happy for you! this is so exciting
Thanks!
I’m happy for your good luck.
Thanks!
WOW THATS A BEAUTY!
Congrats on your new baby! 💚🌱🌴
Thank you!! 😊
Lucky Mr Sheffield! That’s a dandy!!
Gorgeous plant. Great buy❤
What a beautiful monstera 🥰😍 definitely a pleasant amazon experience!
It is a cutting, I believe. As apposed to a plant that was grown from seed. What a score!
You lucky dog! I'm so happy for you!
Thanks!
Wow....now that, my friend, is very impressive!!
Wow!!! Amazon??? Who would have thought? So glad it turned out for you.
Thanks!
Thank you for Sharing beautiful plants from Amazon lovely video
I’ve noticed live plants on Amazon before but I thought they might be not good. So happy it worked out for you 😀🇨🇦
Thanks
Oh my gosh look at THAT !!! NOT ONE BROWN LEAF 🍁 EITHER!!!! Congratulations
Thanks!
I just bought a pair of euphorbia lactea at a decent price from Amazon. Someone else said they had received some but they were only 3” tall…okay. So I took a chance. Mine came a bit dry, 7-8” tall, pink and branching at the top, and well rooted. You never know. They are trying to compete!! I am immensely pleased. Planted now and happily growing.
Nice!
WOW gorgeous plant, great find! I bought one recently from online, and mine is just a baby compared to yours :) I can't wait to watch it grow.
Thanks!
Enjoying to content.Keep up the good work.
Here in the US we had a grower release at grocery stores. Thai Cons for $30, very young plants. Repotted as soon as I got home, the soil was terrible. I bought 3, I have two in soil and one in leca. All are thriving now.
Nice 👌
Now I need one ❤ what a beauty
Wow what a great deal!! Looks fantastic 🍀
Amazon is pretty decent when it comes to plants. I've bought a few from Amazon.😊
Loved it!! Loved it!! 🤣 The outing, the browsing, the waiting, *the nightmare!* 😱 Then the unboxing...
Wow! That's no cutting, you're right Mr Sheffield.. it's a MONSTER(a).. 🌱💚👏👍
Thank you 😊
I'm very impressed; you got a great deal. I work part time at a friend's greenhouse in Florida. They bought five of them from a supermarket for $60 US each. They gave me a two node cutting with a small areal root and I put it into Semi-hydro. The size of your plant, the roots, and the number of leaves, was well worth the price. I have an Albo which I have rooted in the same way. Excited to see my Ti grow.
Definitely!
The bin looming in the background while you checked the roots gave that scene a bit of a horror movie feel 😁
🤣
I have about 25 plants from Amazon they've all been great.
Incredible coincidence! I just bought a variegated monestera for 50 euro's at Hornbach in the Netherlands (less than an hour ago). 4 adult leaves with a lot of variegation. So happy.
Good luck with it
You too!
I'm glad that worked out for you, and you got the whole plant!
WOW! What a beautiful plant at a great price!
That is a beautiful specimen, I was gifted a Thai for Mother’s Day….
I’m very excited it’s about half the size of yours; also well rooted….
I can hardly wait to see your plant as it develops and of course see all you do to and with it….
Video coming next on that
Okey-dokey, if you say so. I understand.the world wide web knows us all. I am still looking for my plant. I will check in if I find one like yours. You have the best collection of plant babies. Your collection keeps me going. Best to you always ....Billie usa
The brown marks underneath the lower leafes are definitely thrips damage
Very nice. That was a good deal.
😂😂 you’re so funny Mr Sheffield. That Monstera from Amazon looks fantastic!! Well done them!
Awesome! Enjoy your new plant!
Thanks!
I've been buying live plants on Etsy lately. Not one bad experience! I can find plants i don't see in stores around me.
I've purchased several plants from Amazon, including Monstera Peru and Standleyana and Syngonium Erythrophyllum. There are well known an established growers who have storefronts on Amazon.
Fabulous cutting .. love it
Wow! That's exceeding customer expectations. Lovely plant stories too...engaging.
My niece husband sent me one via Amazon it’s small but beautiful. Just opened up its funny leaf today. I have well it came in bonsai or orchid soil. I water it every other day he’s in front of the window. He happy so far. ❤. They are now everywhere here in stores. 40$.
Sounds great!
OMG 😮 looks awesome 🌿🌿🌿
I've bought plants from Amazon in the US and they were perfect. I even bought them for people who had a lost loved one. I buy from a plant nursery who sells there and I've been buying their plants for years in stores so I figured buy from them from Amazon is just as good. I've never bought plants from an individual or unknown nursery on Amazon before.
😮😮😮Jesus how tall are you Mr. Sheffield?!?! I saw you duck when you walked in that store😂
Too tall to not bang my head on doorways 😅
🤣🦒
thinking the same!
Sheffield in the wild!!!
I was thinking that same thing watching him walk into the store 😮
I lucked out buying a mostly white variegated monstera cutting with a leaf from Amazon, kind of dry when arrived, popped back in a day.
Thank you Mr Sheffers : )
By coincidence I’ve just received a package of four small Pothos today (order placed 12th May). Also ordered on Amazon but delivered by Royal Mail. They have obliviously been very shaken up on route as the potting mixtures and roots have become loose in the pots. Still, they were well packed with a square of plastic sheet around each of the pots to keep the whole botanical assemblage together, so the plants themselves are fortunately just-shaken-but-not-stirred. These nurseries seem to have the packaging sorted out otherwise they would not be able to stay in business.
Whilst on Monday, I was in my local plant shop asking the proprietor to look out for one of the elephant ear philodendron’s as I thought that a plant of a similar size to your Monstera would be safer in his hands. Either way, the delivery of any new botanical addition to the family is always anxiety provoking. Time for a cup of soothing Lemon Balm tea.
Thanks for sharing 👍
Congratulations, lovely plant
Thanks!
Gorgeous plant
In the past weekI've been on Amazon looking around for plants and couldn't decide to risk it or not, then boom here's your video! Lol you can't always trust reviews but I trust you with plant advice!!!
Perfect!
Wow!!! Gorgeous plant!! I just bought a baby Thai in a 4" pot for $25 and thought I landed the deal of the day!! I will have to check Amazon next time.
Way above my budget but I’m so happy for you.
When referring to white variegation in monstera one usually means an albo. Thai cons have cream variegaton. But theres so many different variegated monstera out there you really have to specify. A white monsters, a mint and an aurea are also variegated monstera, but they are way more expensive than an albo or a thai con (obviously you can find a ridiculous price for those as well).
If possible support smaller businesses instead of Amazon!
I bought a thai con cutting last year (was 40€) and it was 3 >30cm leafes. It was extremely well rooted in moss, like the entire 17cm pot was full of roots. I put my cutting in pon, because I noticed it didn't like the chunky mix I gave it (my other monstera likes it though). But the most interesting thing is that the shop I ordered it from had a 3.7 stars rating. Everything was totally fine and a actually quiet like that shop, reviews aren't that reliable.
Also, people are more likely to leave a negative review than a positive one. It's really tricky
I watched one of your earlier videos, and dang you have found your niche! The cutaways are absolutely magnificent! Although my personal fav is you holding onto your elgergrass real tight, hoping to show it off to your ‘friends’ 😂
You’ve got a gift, mate. Your input and experience have given me the confidence to branch out. I now have a monstera, peace Lilly, and about to get a calathea (when I get gnats under control 😫).
Keep up the superbly entertaining and exceptionally informative content!
Much appreciated!
I love your humour with the nightmare of brown leaves 🍂😂 this Monstera is a real beauty😻
Thank you 😊
I bought my first pathos on Amazon 2 years ago. It’s doubled in size, I’ve repotted it and 3 or 4 babies. I’ve also propagated many leaves to give to family and friends. A great deal and very healthy!
Hi Richard .im so glad the gamble paid off for you , looks great . I was in Lidl probably about 2 years ago and they had about 6 small variegated monstera for 10 pound each ,i picked one up and looked at it . And thought thats a bit expensive and put it back. Then i found out how rare they are noooo. My biggest none purchase regret ever !! .
😬
i found a small constelation on etsy for $30 it came very healthy from florida
Nice
We got lucky just found a local nursery that has a wide variety of variegated monsteras. They propagate themselves. 2 gal size for $85. 4” for $20-60 depending on size. We got 3. All heavily variegated
lol your humor never disappoints 😂especially when you were in bed having nightmares. I’m glad your nightmares didn’t come true and your Thai arrived in great condition🙌🥳, that’s a really great deal. I hope she grows well for you. I’ve purchased a few of the Thais and please be careful because it does live up to the hype of root rot out of the blue. Best of luck on your plant baby🪴, Amazon came through!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow definitely a whole plant not a cutting and looks great
I find it cute that people have this thing for monstera. In subtropical sydney the stuff grows outdoors like a weed and I have to keep hacking it back. It so quickly crowds out my ornamentals. I would never think of bringing it inside, it's too unwieldy.
I call a cutting a piece that has not been planted in any potting soil yet. I have ordered plants from venders on the US Amazon but you have to watch out not to have them shipped while there is still frost in your area some are growers who ship when you ask , then send them North where you let the freeze on your step.
I've gotten all 37 of my plants off amazon. I only had 1 issue where I got the wrong plant and 1 issue of a plant dying but that was my fault. I tried to order 1 more plant before the cold hit in mid October. I missed my window and it just got to cold in shipment. I would and will keep getting my plants off amazon. Why not? they come in healthy and they're very well priced for the most part.
Yeah they're normally just regular growers using amazon to sell
Jeff of a mason is very happy with your support. Small business owners not so much.
