02:08: Lolll. The rotten stem review was from me! Otherwise good plant shop but on that occasion I was really disappointed as the entire plant was buried in the pot way too deep and newly developing leave was completely destroyed by mold. Also, you clearly received an exceptionally big leafy end cutting of the plant. ... Lucky mr Sheffield! 😂
That's my review on the Thai Con at 2:05; it's absolutely enormous and just pushed out a huge mature leaf with sectoral variegation and galaxy speckling. 100% recommend Tropical Plants UK. I was worried about putting down £50 for an online purchase but was really impressed with what I got!
Tips from someone with a Thai: •preferably put in a very chunky mix, chunkier than the sybotanica aroid mix to prevent rot. (The mother plant of Thai constellation had root rot making all the other Thai constellations susceptible to rot. •they don’t like wet feet.
Rich, I know by your video you bought rare monstera from Amazon. You have been rewarded with a grown plant instead of a small start. All your hard teaching has a reward beyond price. Keep on keeping on. Your are the best. I never miss a vid. Love to you and your plant family and you wife and kids
Wow! I would have never thought of ordering a plant from Amazon…..great deal ! The prices are finally going down here in Canada and more available to buy so I just bought my first 4 inch pot for a good price…keep us posted !
Being disabled I buy all of my plants from amazon, I've never been disappointed. Although be careful with seeds, I bought a bag of wild flowers mix and all that grew was weeds and a cannabis plant!😲
That's definitely a real beauty! Via Amazon last autumn I bought a few smallish houseplants (from Perfect Plants in Sussex, I couldn't get out). Normal monstera, rubber plant and asparagus fern. All wonderfully healthy still growing strong for a good price, glad I took the risk. :)
I just bought a pair of euphorbia lactea at a decent price from Amazon. Someone else said they had received some but they were only 3” tall…okay. So I took a chance. Mine came a bit dry, 7-8” tall, pink and branching at the top, and well rooted. You never know. They are trying to compete!! I am immensely pleased. Planted now and happily growing.
Okey-dokey, if you say so. I understand.the world wide web knows us all. I am still looking for my plant. I will check in if I find one like yours. You have the best collection of plant babies. Your collection keeps me going. Best to you always ....Billie usa
I live in Tokyo, and bought plants from amazon several time which didn't have a review because nurseries are so expensive, but thank God my plants are gorgeous and got nice pots with them. Maybe place with more sun will help new leaves more variegated? I do that to all my variegated plants to prevent them turning green.
I bought my first pathos on Amazon 2 years ago. It’s doubled in size, I’ve repotted it and 3 or 4 babies. I’ve also propagated many leaves to give to family and friends. A great deal and very healthy!
I'm glad ordering a plant from Amazon worked for you! Your videos are so entertaining. I order things from Amazon frequently, and seldom habe any complaints, but when I ordered a plant from them several years ago, got one that was all cuttings with no roots! It died quickly, so noe I only buy plants locally, mostly from Trader Joe's which has great prices on healthy plants. Nothing rare, though, and when you go in you dont know what you'll find, which is typical of Trader Joes. My store is near the Canadian border, so it's an international destination!
I'm very impressed; you got a great deal. I work part time at a friend's greenhouse in Florida. They bought five of them from a supermarket for $60 US each. They gave me a two node cutting with a small areal root and I put it into Semi-hydro. The size of your plant, the roots, and the number of leaves, was well worth the price. I have an Albo which I have rooted in the same way. Excited to see my Ti grow.
Enjoying to content.Keep up the good work. Here in the US we had a grower release at grocery stores. Thai Cons for $30, very young plants. Repotted as soon as I got home, the soil was terrible. I bought 3, I have two in soil and one in leca. All are thriving now.
Hey, thanks for the advice Mr. Sheffield. I just now received my second grow light and my moisture meter. I'm very busy catching up on all your other video's also. Their all brilliant and very interesting. You have a good day with the Mrs. Peace.
I've bought plants from Amazon in the US and they were perfect. I even bought them for people who had a lost loved one. I buy from a plant nursery who sells there and I've been buying their plants for years in stores so I figured buy from them from Amazon is just as good. I've never bought plants from an individual or unknown nursery on Amazon before.
Wow! I was so impressed when you unboxed it! I will definitely see if I can research a ‘trusty’ Amazon seller here in the US. You gave us all hope 😊 We won’t have to wait 50 years to get one for cheap 😂 BTW, your nightmare part was hilarious!🤣
In the past weekI've been on Amazon looking around for plants and couldn't decide to risk it or not, then boom here's your video! Lol you can't always trust reviews but I trust you with plant advice!!!
Two weeks ago we were at a comedy show hosted by one of the local churches and right in the entrance hall were two decent sized monstera. When we left I found one of the staff and asked if I could take a cutting. They were so sweet to let me have one. I got one small enough to not hurt the profile of the plant, but big enough I've got three cuttings to propagate!
I know availability varies from country to country. In the US, Thai Cons are everywhere now. Still pricey but if you know where to look, you can get good deals. I see them at farmer's markets, on Facebook plant trade/sell groups, and even at regular nursery shops. So if you're trying to find other options for buying a Thai Con, availability and pricing is improving.
I love the story telling in this one!!! Loved the going to the shop and the nightmare! I’ve seen plants on Amazon here in the US but never had the nerve to try. Maybe I will, one day…
My niece husband sent me one via Amazon it’s small but beautiful. Just opened up its funny leaf today. I have well it came in bonsai or orchid soil. I water it every other day he’s in front of the window. He happy so far. ❤. They are now everywhere here in stores. 40$.
That is a beautiful specimen, I was gifted a Thai for Mother’s Day…. I’m very excited it’s about half the size of yours; also well rooted…. I can hardly wait to see your plant as it develops and of course see all you do to and with it….
Wow!!! Gorgeous plant!! I just bought a baby Thai in a 4" pot for $25 and thought I landed the deal of the day!! I will have to check Amazon next time.
I wouldn't personally buy a TC or an albo online without at least seeing the exact cutting on a photo first. There seems to be a market flood of these very poorly variegated Thais now, hence the affordable price. It's quite big, but it seems to have been raised in extremely light deprived conditions, judging by: 1. Huge internodal spacing for a tc 2. Very long petials with unproportinaly small leaves 3. Very low variegation. If that is fine with you then I guess it's all that matters anyway. Thanks for the video and good luck with your new plant!
Loved it!! Loved it!! 🤣 The outing, the browsing, the waiting, *the nightmare!* 😱 Then the unboxing... Wow! That's no cutting, you're right Mr Sheffield.. it's a MONSTER(a).. 🌱💚👏👍
I've purchased several plants from Amazon, including Monstera Peru and Standleyana and Syngonium Erythrophyllum. There are well known an established growers who have storefronts on Amazon.
The one thing to order on Amazon that's never fast enough with Prime is plants! It's definitely not any faster here in America, lol. I've been debating on a Monstera and wasn't sure until I saw your video. That guy is so happy! Thanks for sharing! I may just have to get one myself 😁
Hi Richard .im so glad the gamble paid off for you , looks great . Very nice plant! I also wish that seller was in the U.S. Looking at that large stem, I remember from watching a video on sport variegation that the guy recommended propping the stem against the rim of the pot or even a small chunk of wood, as that tricks the plant into thinking it’s growing against a tree, thus causing it to put out more fenestrated leaves faster. 🤯

Really?? That’s funny
One thing about thai constellation..... do not water it untill fully checked ...it needs a drier side
Lol Small world, curious what part of the world this Amazon listing is getting shipped to?! I’m in the US
What a coincidence 😂
I bet they follow him so saw it was an order from him and gave him a good one....
Cutting??? That's a whole damn plant! Dang
Hmmm, sending you a whole plant gave them a good plug on your channel😊
Loved the nightmare scene 😂👌🏻❤️
Cheers!
Really enjoying the upgraded editing style and subtle storytelling mixed in.
Cheers!
Wow. I was gonna say what you said...that's not a cutting that's a plant. Very nice
best unboxing. no fuss, no bluff. just unboxing. great plant.
Much appreciated
Nice to see a company caring about the product that they are selling, very rare commodity in the horticulture industry.
Oh god he has the ultimate Dad Outfit
Guys I think he's becoming the ultimate Plant Parent
Cheeky 😅
I was pretty sure I saw 2 different colored socks too! 😂😂
Plant Dad 🪴 🥰
I usually buy my more unusual plants from Etsy. It's nice to support smaller businesses. That is a beauty though; you may have changed my mind!

The nightmare 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 " brown leaf no no"
On another note, how gorgeous is that plant? Absolutely beautiful. Looking forward to seeing her grow
😁
I got a bunch of plants off Amazon as a gift and they were all perfectly healthy and beautiful! I was shocked lol
That’s me, touching every plant in the plant store.
£8.99 Aldi although it wasn’t variegated it was large and very healthy …. Fab
Richard's house is like a black hole for plants: there's always room for more.
😂
Yes absolutely one more!!!!
Love it!!!
Rich, I know by your video you bought rare monstera from Amazon. You have been rewarded with a grown plant instead of a small start. All your hard teaching has a reward beyond price. Keep on keeping on. Your are the best. I never miss a vid. Love to you and your plant family and you wife and kids
Thank you very much!
So glad to see that, not only were you spared disappointment, you got a beautiful, established young plant ready for display. Congratulations!
Thanks!
Dude all I got from this video is that you're very tall. The plant was also nice.
they realized who was the buyer and got the best they had at the moment for some free advertisment 🤣🤣🤣
Nah it was my personal account 😁
lol Amazon sales must be going crazy now!!! Enjoy your Monstera!!!
Thanks!
Wow! I would have never thought of ordering a plant from Amazon…..great deal ! The prices are finally going down here in Canada and more available to buy so I just bought my first 4 inch pot for a good price…keep us posted !
Same here
My niece will order plants from Amazon and she's had no problem with them. But anyway, that's a really nice plant you got! It looks really good!😊
Etsy has a wide selection too
Being disabled I buy all of my plants from amazon, I've never been disappointed. Although be careful with seeds, I bought a bag of wild flowers mix and all that grew was weeds and a cannabis plant!😲
I purchased live plants from Amazon a couple of weeks ago and they arrived beautiful and ready to plant. I would order again.
Very good buy. More plant shops should be this generous.
Great stuff 👍
After this I might start exploring Amazon for plants. What a deal you got.

It is a cutting, I believe. As apposed to a plant that was grown from seed. What a score!
I live in Tokyo, and bought plants from amazon several time which didn't have a review because nurseries are so expensive, but thank God my plants are gorgeous and got nice pots with them.

WOW gorgeous plant, great find! I bought one recently from online, and mine is just a baby compared to yours :) I can't wait to watch it grow.
Thanks!
beautiful plant. I would love to see an update on it in the next few months
Will do!

Love how funny this video is. You have a great sense of humor!
Glad you enjoyed!
I’ve had good luck on Amazon
Two weeks ago we were at a comedy show hosted by one of the local churches and right in the entrance hall were two decent sized monstera. When we left I found one of the staff and asked if I could take a cutting. They were so sweet to let me have one. I got one small enough to not hurt the profile of the plant, but big enough I've got three cuttings to propagate!
Very generous
Amazon is pretty decent when it comes to plants. I've bought a few from Amazon.😊
The weirdest thing i buy off amazon is live ladybugs for my garden. ❤
I know availability varies from country to country. In the US, Thai Cons are everywhere now. Still pricey but if you know where to look, you can get good deals. I’d say that was more than successful! I really enjoyed the editing style on this video, Richard. Nicely done 👌

Awesome! Thank you!
😂😂 you’re so funny Mr Sheffield. That Monstera from Amazon looks fantastic!! Well done them!
Very nice. That was a good deal.
I’ve noticed live plants on Amazon before but I thought they might be not good. So happy it worked out for you 😀🇨🇦
Thanks
You received a beautiful plant; loved this video!🪴
Thank you 😊
Wow!!! Amazon??? Who would have thought? So glad it turned out for you.
Thanks!
WOW THATS A BEAUTY!
Oh my gosh look at THAT !!! NOT ONE BROWN LEAF 🍁 EITHER!!!! Congratulations

My niece husband sent me one via Amazon it’s small but beautiful. Just opened up its funny leaf today. I have well it came in bonsai or orchid soil. I water it every other day he’s in front of the window. He happy so far. ❤. They are now everywhere here in stores. 40$.

Gorgeous plant. Great buy❤
That is a beautiful specimen, I was gifted a Thai for Mother’s Day….
I’m very excited it’s about half the size of yours; also well rooted….
I can hardly wait to see your plant as it develops and of course see all you do to and with it….
Video coming next on that
Thank you Mr Sheffers : )
Wow!!! Gorgeous plant!! I just bought a baby Thai in a 4" pot for $25 and thought I landed the deal of the day!! I will have to check Amazon next time.
The bin looming in the background while you checked the roots gave that scene a bit of a horror movie feel 😁
🤣
I love how the first review you looked at was from someone called KUSS-TOMER 😂
😂 didn't notice
Lovely and they didn’t know you are a UA-camr!Hi from coastal Maine🦞🦞😊
That's right!
I wouldn't personally buy a TC or an albo online without at least seeing the exact cutting on a photo first. Wow! That's no cutting, you're right Mr Sheffield.. it's a MONSTER(a).. 🌱💚👏👍
Thank you 😊
WOW! What a beautiful plant at a great price!
I’m happy for your good luck.
Thanks!
Awesome! Enjoy your new plant!
Thanks!
You lucky dog! I'm so happy for you!
Thanks!
I have about 25 plants from Amazon they've all been great.
I've purchased several plants from Amazon, including Monstera Peru and Standleyana and Syngonium Erythrophyllum. There are well known an established growers who have storefronts on Amazon.
Wow....now that, my friend, is very impressive!!
What a beautiful monstera 🥰😍 definitely a pleasant amazon experience!
OMG 😮 looks awesome 🌿🌿🌿
The one thing to order on Amazon that's never fast enough with Prime is plants! It's definitely not any faster here in America, lol. I've been debating on a Monstera and wasn't sure until I saw your video. That guy is so happy! Thanks for sharing! I may just have to get one myself 😁
Cheers!
She is a BEAUTY! I wish that Seller was in the States.
Hi Richard .im so glad the gamble paid off for you , looks great . I was in Lidl probably about 2 years ago and they had about 6 small variegated monstera for 10 pound each ,i picked one up and looked at it . And thought thats a bit expensive and put it back. Then i found out how rare they are noooo. My biggest none purchase regret ever !! .
😬
I'm a viewer from the United States and I have a few notes:
1- 00:23 Why is this showing the opposite side in the car? Oh yeah, ok go on
2- 00:53 160 what? Let me turn on the captions... Quid? What's that? Let me Google. Oh yeah, ok go on
3- 1:32 Lucky I am originally European and I know centimeters better than I know inches 🤓 But I only know plant pots in inches! 4, 6, 8 or 10 inches 😂 Lol ok, go on
The rest of the video was pretty smooth. And funny as always. Beautiful plant! Thai Constellations are coming to the big box stores in the US now, for very cheap prices, and there's a rush of people buying and warning their facebook friends 😆
Fabulous cutting .. love it
Incredible coincidence! I just bought a variegated monestera for 50 euro's at Hornbach in the Netherlands (less than an hour ago). 4 adult leaves with a lot of variegation. So happy.
Good luck with it
You too!
Great plant Mr. Sheffield! I like it and i was also ver, surprised how big and healthy that thing is. What a steal! 🙂
I bought myself an ordinary monstera deliciosa yesterday. It has 3 MASSIV plants in it, with really nice fenestrations. I bought it for 15,99€ in my local hardware store. I will repot it the next days and put some poles in the pot, because that thing is out of control and all the stems are growing in a different direction. 😅
Like i said before - you've got a great plant for a fair amount of money! 👍🏻
Have a nice day Mr. Sheffield!
Thank you you too
Gorgeous plant
Very nice plant! I also wish that seller was in the U.S.
Looking at that large stem, I remember from watching a video on sport variegation that the guy recommended propping the stem against the rim of the pot or even a small chunk of wood, as that tricks the plant into thinking it’s growing against a tree, thus causing it to put out more fenestrated leaves faster. 🤯
👍👍👍
Haha you're funny plant friend 😂. Lovely monstera
Thanks 😆
I found plant sellers on E-bay to be much more genuine and reliable than on Amazon. 🌿
But then I buy mostly flowering plants like pelargoniums ("geraniums") so I can't vouch for other kinds of more tropical houseplants, but they are all easy enough to look up what's available.
Ironically, my first plant was a Thai constellation monstera from Bunnings. I paid AU$249 (about 135 GBP) and he came with 5 big leaves full of constellation and some with large fenestrations. It was also my first attempt at putting a plant in LECA which although has been a huge success, caused me to age by 20 years at the time (your nightmare bed scene was “funny cos its true”). Im now a proud plant dad to over 50 LECA plants, all thriving in my soil-free home. Love your work! Thanks for the humour.
Great stuff 👍
This video made my day. TY 🤗
Glad you enjoyed it!
Now I need one ❤ what a beauty
It's bigger and better than my cutting cutting on every level.
lol your humor never disappoints 😂especially when you were in bed having nightmares. I’m glad your nightmares didn’t come true and your Thai arrived in great condition🙌🥳, that’s a really great deal. I hope she grows well for you. I’ve purchased a few of the Thais and please be careful because it does live up to the hype of root rot out of the blue. Best of luck on your plant baby🪴, Amazon came through!
Glad you enjoyed it!
