I think it would help people (at least me) decide if and when to join it, especially if they've missed the beginning of the month. Shirley Jackson's the Haunting of Hill House is another great book featuring an important (and weird) house! Space, time, architecture are all big themes there too. I think the vibe and writing of that one might be similarly strange to what you're describing, something is off but its hard to put your finger on it.
