I would love to have a backyard dirt track and some old race karts! What engine you guys running? Karts seem very closely matched.
Ya it’s a blast! We are running the hemi version of the predator 212cc engine from harbor freight. We do some carb work and put an air intake and exhaust on them and they rip pretty decent. Check out the new video with Briggs 206 engines. Link in description

@@djetful To corner on the dirt, forget about brakes, you need to push the throttle hard, break it loose and just let it slide on the throttle. Push too hard, you'll spin out. If you turn hard enough left, you'll have to turn right to go left. Paul Newman, rest in peace, will rise and turn into the zombie when you do it wrong.

Neat layout for the flat track carts. My property has to many hills for solid axel carts, suspension required.

Thank you! At that point in time we were just ripping through gears trying to figure out chain lubes. The dirt just destroys the driveline no matter what anyways so we were probably on whatever we had at the time. We do try and keep the engines right at the point of revving out so the valves don’t float like crazy. Check out some of the newer stuff better image quality.

Dylan! this is awesome dude! I saw this video a while ago.... so I built a dirt track in the field and bought 2 karts last night lol., but it rained and the track is a swamp. how did you get that track looking so smooth? we blazed our trail thru the hay field by doing 200 kilometers worth of laps in a honda accord... but that left the track a bit bumpy, really sloppy and I even have roots from trees in some places. how'd you do it man??
That’s awesome you are going to have such a blast when you guys get going! So to get it this smooth as in this video and my newer ones. I rented a power rake “Harley rake” attachment for the tracked skid steer you can rent those also. First I went around with the normal skid steer bucket and kinda flattened out any big humps. Then I attached the power rake and went foward with it and then backwards and then foward again at a angle shooting the rocks to the side. I used it more as a tiller and was digging it deep into the ground. My track is around 6/10ths of a mile so it took around 8-10hpurs just to do that then I waited for it to rain on it and then I rolled it with a massive weighted lawn roller behind my quad. You can’t do it right after raining unless you rent like a asphalt roller or something with a blade scraping the roller because it’ll stick to the roller and just mess everything up. I tried a kart on it yesterday znd I can make it most of the way with no issue. and its fun af lol!! by the end of the evening I had my dad, stepmom and my gf running around in the karts! thanks for showing how much fun this is!

It can be when the track gets ran on for awhile otherwise it’s alright. I bring home a skid with a Harly rake and smooth it out once a season.
what gearing are you using? also what mods are you doing to the engines?
I know we run 12tooth front gears on the clutch and I believe 63 in the back. These predators have pipes carbs and coil mods. Governors are eliminated also.
What kinda clutch?
@@alexw.2305 we run through clutch gears but the clutch stays alright for a little we run max torque clutchs that are bully gears so you can switch out the gear but keep the same clutch.

It’s not? I can see why you would maybe think that but it’s defiantly the old GoPro I was using with a super wide angle lens check out the newer video link in description.
