Hi Lee, Would you be able to advise me? I have used some solvent cement - the exact same as in this video. Unfortunately, on one of the two fittings I was fixing together, I failed to get the inner pipe in far enough down to a ledge. This has left a small gap, between the outer pipe ledge inside and the end of the pipe fitted inside. There is cement within that area or gap. Will this cement simply dry and be completely safe for fish and not toxic, as water will be flowing over it once the pipe fittings are in place and up and running with water flowing through? I have thought of adding some fish safe silicone sealer to the gap all the way round, to seal or hide that bit of cement from contact with water. Am I worrying too much? Thanks for your excellent videos, which I have only just recently accessed.. Joe

It should not dry. You should apply it. Then push the fittings together.
