Professor Tong, class is in session! Trail locations are good to give out cause they're public knowledge and easy to find. Camp sites should be kept with your group. Half the fun is exploring to find a cool spot.

Woo! I'm a fan of Money Heist on Netflix. Being called Professor is a high honor 😆. Totally agree. I'll hide some of my favorite campsites we discovered in the backcountry but anything near trails or yellow posts are open game.

Thank you for this video, as someone who's both new to the state I live in and wanting to get started in overlanding for the first time the hardest part is figuring out where I'm even allowed to go aside from the dedicated offroad parks most of which are 3-4 hours away from me. Now I just gotta get my hummer H2 fixed back up so I can go fuck it up again😅

I’m pretty green but for years have been using Google Maps for fishing adventures. I download map areas for offline use. I’ve recently been intrigued by the onx off-road app.I’ll probably register and use it for the DV trip next month.

Brett, I've only heard good things so far about onX. Haven't had the pleasure to test it out myself because still in a subscription to Gaia for another few years. Isn't it so much fun planning and making new waypoints? Time consuming but so exciting. Builds hype. We're addicts for adventure.

@@BorderlineExplorer I haven’t really planned with waypoints, basically just use the GPS to see where I’m at. Most of my use has been around Camp Nelson when I decide to explore for new creeks and fishing holes. I like the breadcrumb feature in onX. I’ll give it a shot in DV, and maybe Monache if I can make that happen. Still collecting gear.

Yeah, I'm easily inspired by visuals on UA-cam! Makes me want to try new trails and go places I've never heard of.
