I actually liked Coneheads - I thought it was one of the better SNL spinoff movies. There was an actual plot, and the characters worked together very well. One thing I never liked was the silly robot-talk from the Coneheads, but that's SNL, so what can you do? The daughter (played by Michelle Burke here) doesn't use that affectation, and the family has been on earth now for 20 years. Don't you think they'd fit in better? And boy did the guys miss the mark on Hocus Pocus. I thought it was a fun little movie, although I admit I didn't see it until it showed up on video. The witches are a lot of fun, and they still worked well together in the sequel.

@@reneedennis2011 his performances are terrific in those imagine if he was still around he’d be the best actor among rappers. As of now that reign belongs to Ice Cube & Ice-T
I personally feel Coneheads was one of the better efforts to turn an SNL skit into a film. No it wasnt The Blues Brothers and Wayne's World but what SNL movie would ever be as good as those two? It was a solid enjoyable effort and I feel it deserved better recognition. No other SNL movies other than the aforementioned two and this one were good. But I feel these guys are off in their review. It was a fun movie.
Coneheads and Poetic Justice are two films I’ve seen a bunch of times and really like (even with the unbelievable scene where Jackson tells 2Pac how to write a poem). Hocus Pocus was fun as a kid on Halloween.
How to name your sequel in a fresh oringinal way without resorting to using Part II, II, Son of -, Return of -, etc. In this case add ANOTHER up front.
Big SNL fan watched every episode of the 70s til now of SNL during pandemic, do you blame me? I learned alot from the early SNL and my favorite cast has to be the 80s or 90s and that is what we get, i love the cast, and they are okay in different skits and parts, its cool to see the SNL cast do stuff as well as seinfeld only two, but yeah i never liked the alien skit in SNL would always skip it and same here, i do like the bit parts of the SNL cast and to see them were great, but i can agree with siskel and ebert review i guess. But its kind of funny about the immigration aspect and how prevalent that is now. but i didnt like it that much, poetic justice i loved, i didnt watch the other films, so i cant comment on that.
Coneheads: 👎⭐⭐ - the aliens from outer space formula was interesting to try as hard as possible to be a parody of 50s comedies, but it ultimately descends slowly to just another masquerade as a failed TV pilot Benefit of the Doubt: 👎1/2 - a stupid psychological thriller with so many strategic failures of Donald Sutherland's performance as a psychopathic killer. It'll be remembered as just another tax shelter deal financed by a German film company, than it is a movie. Poetic Justice: 👍⭐⭐⭐1/2 - a terrific coming of age drama which best friends coming together, telling each other's secret worlds, filled with wonderful surprises. Another Stakeout: 👎⭐1/2 - an inept sequel to a fun 1987 comedy thriller, with a ridiculous mafia storyline and an intentionally contrived hostage situation, proving itself it was wanting for style. One of the worst films of 1993. Hocus Pocus: 👎1/2 - a tasteless fantasy family comedy that never achieves in the slightest to satirise classic horror movies for a general audience. None of the comical abstractions were ever evident, even there was a single second to smile at. Again, one of the worst films of 1993.
I liked another stakeout but my problem is that if estevez and Richard Dreyfuss are gonna be the comic relief and the silly ones, then the ADA role needed to be played smarter as gene always said, cast someone who would have been tougher and always being the one who is always tough and actually wanting to be there on a stakeout. I do like the movie but looking back it's just too silly and goofy. Cast someone smarter as the ADA and the movie might have worked. Any suggestions on who would have been a better choice for the ADA?
Siskel nailed it on Tupac.
Yup.
Pac could have won an academy award

Hocus Pocus deserves neither the overwhelming nostalgia nor the hate it gets
I like poetic justice, it's not as great as Boyz n the hood but I enjoy the chemistry & performances by Tupac & Janet. 👍🌟🌟🌟
2pac was a great talent that died too soon not only as a rapper but as an actor

I agree. It’s hardly “It’s Pat.”
