Jonah and the Whale
Once upon a time, there was a man named Jonah. God asked Jonah to go to a city called Nineveh to tell the people there to stop being bad. But Jonah didn’t want to go. Instead, he tried to run away from God by getting on a ship going far away.
While Jonah was on the ship, a big storm started. The sailors were very scared and didn’t know what to do. Jonah told them that the storm was happening because he was running away from God. He said they should throw him into the sea to stop the storm.
At first, the sailors didn’t want to throw Jonah into the sea, but the storm got worse and worse. Finally, they threw him overboard, and right away, the storm stopped. Jonah fell into the sea and thought he would drown.
But God sent a huge whale to swallow Jonah whole. Jonah was inside the whale’s belly for three days and three nights. While he was there, he prayed to God and said he was sorry for not listening.
After three days, the whale spit Jonah out onto dry land. Jonah was very thankful and decided to obey God. He went to Nineveh and told the people to stop being bad. The people listened to Jonah and changed their ways, and God was happy.
