Nice use a broom like in old days...
You made my dad waste a lot of money for fast draining power leaf blower
Your dad may live longer because of this. The waste is the Healthcare costs down the line, somone has to pay for that eventually. Will it be you?
I would not comply.
If you ban the sale, then we will have a black market of brand new commercial gas equipment coming from other states. Because the use is only prohibited in a few cities, LA not being one of them
@@noway8259 The accessories for these equipment cost more than the equipment itself. The mowers don't always cut clean the first time. you can't diagnose battery powered equipment to fix it, a simple battery last 8-11 minutes and you need about 10-12 batteries for a day on the job with a unit to charge while driving. Commercial backpack batteries cost more than a commercial battery powered mower. I just feel like more people are worried about noise complaints. the air quality will not change until cars no longer burn gas. On the other hand, landscape service prices are going to go up a bit.
@@chipsjuicemoney5978 ....this video and my comment are concerned with blowers alone.
That can be a good option for those who aren’t ready for electric and want to still use gas power. Buying out of state shouldn’t be a problem and if available have it shipped from that state to where you live in California. Surely Newsom and CARB can’t stop you.
Mexicans for Trump.,,
Yeah what does that battery do when it's dead .. This is not very smart ..
gas blower run 1 hour = to gas car run 1000 miles --- lets see the gas blower used 1 pint the car used 15 gallons of gas, its good thing people don't know math
@@yayoudo1 oh wow you think the catalytic converter will help with the 15 gallons of gas lmao just glad you didn't go all globetard on me
They're not talking about gas usage -- they're referring NOx and CO emissions in modern cars vs. 2-stroke gas leaf blowers.
If you read at all, "One hour of gas-powered leaf blower use is equivalent in emissions to a vehicle driving 1,100 miles, according to the CA Air Resources Board"
Now dig your head in the sand and ignore science.
No matter how much they ban stuff alhambra Pasadena San Gabriel Arcadia Rosemead all the pollution sits in air! All of Los Angeles pollution from vehicles and specially boats all over the air . They should do something about boats.
Makita? Go with Stihl always!
The push of that electric blower is embarrassing low, in pas im gonna rake and raise the maintenance charge
Yes because strip mining and using dynamite and an excavator to build those batteries is totally cleaner!
@@noway8259 na but I bet that electric excavator doesn’t either….. lol
I dont think any blower should be used at all, but I prefer batteries eventhough it takes from the environment. What about plug in, or manually cleaning? There's no perfect solution, but gas powered to me is ridiculous.
It's the noise and air pollution from gas blowers that is the issue! Why are so many blind and deaf to these awful contraptions!
About time!
Right but it’s not enforced
I doubt that it's the same as running a car for 1100 hours. It's a tiny two stroke engine. How about we start by looking at the cruise ship industry. Those pollute 100, more than any passenger car ever will.
No way
not going to work
"Schnab adena"
Battery isn't really better than gas powered leaf blowers. Those lithium-ion powered electric blowers are still charged using electricity provided by gas powered electrical grids so actually electric powered anything is worse than using gas powered equipment.
The difference is that the air is much cleaner with electric than gas. I can't tell somone to not use it and they may end up with cancer, I just don't want it in MY lungs. The best is to rake.
It's the noise that is the worst part! They don't need to be part of our societies!!
@@email6743 ….so are LOUD RAP MUSIC, DOGS BARKING, CAR HORNS, CONSTRUCTION WORKERS, etc. I agree, let’s get rid of them!! Start with the LOUD DOGS BARKING!!
@@email6743 ……kinda like NOISES FROM FIREWORKS; ROAD CONSTRUCTIONS; DOGS BARKING; RAP MUSIC; CAR HORNS; etc. Let’s get rid of DOGS BARKING!!
Guess who inhales most of the fumes on a daily basis? The gardeners who insist on continuing to use them.
Yes! And guess who pays the medical expenses when they end up with cancer. The public.
Wonderful
another law they won't enforce
I can attest that they do enforce, how would you know that they don't? Have you called and complained?
When does the smog methane check for people start? Fart too much and you fail lol
my neighbor has a battery blower. The sound would make a cat climb glass. No quieter and definitely more obnoxious than a gas blower.
I started using all battery powered lawn equipment two years ago. Haven't had any problems with it so far.
It's one thing if it's YOUR choice. These woke morons in government are going to bankrupt Cali, which is what they deserve.
Average person or small business owner can't afford that upgrade when you already have proper functioning equipment
@@sweets6865…..try to mow 10 hours a day. You would need 30 batteries!! Each battery cost $80 and would only last ONE year of rigorous USE. We can tell you don’t do lawn maintenance for a living!! 😂😂😂
@user-bq3fp2so6w you don't need a gas powered blower to do that job! You can't just blow shit around and never pick it up! It's madness!
How many other bans do you know that aren't enforced?
By the way, leaf blowers have been banned in Los Angeles for decades already.
@@jamesblond150 Yeah. Those several thousands or tens of thousands used every day, that have the same 2-stroke engines that those (very few) off-road motorcycles have that are prohibited may-oct in off-road parks. Which just shows the state of mind of people who are making those laws.
C.A.R.B and smog checks shouldn't exist.
Should have given a tax break or something for upgrading to electric.. this will hurt indivi3and small business owners who have perfectly functional equipment
Powerful battery blowers are loud also.... battery can't replace gas not yet unless you can fill up a battery in 30 sec 😂you know
Not as loud, it sounds more like a blow dryer than an obnoxious machine releasing shit in the air. I loathed hearing that in the building I live in and asked the gardeners to use eletric long before this law was passed. And guess what? No complaints from them.
Communism Begins.
Move to the Midwest if you don't like government regulation, there's a lot of open land and no one cares if you burn trash in your yard.
OMG best news I heard all day!!!
Don't hold your breath. They have been banned in Los Angeles for decades already. It just has never been enforced. So what is another ban going to do?
Gas phase out makes sense.. throwing away existing equipment is moronic.
When would it be phased out? The equipment people use looks 100 years old to begin with.
The existing equipment is the problem to begin with, educate yourself on the noise and air pollution these awful contraptions cause, they cause as much pollution in 1 hour than a full size truck driving 1100 miles! It's ignorant to use them! We don't want to hear them bellowing into our societies anymore!!!
If I remember right, LA county banned leaf blowers years ago and it was quiet for about for a while with the sound of rakes scraping the ground and brooms sweeping the rest into the grass catcher, then they all slowly came back.
I’m amazed this isn’t being construed as a racist action against Mexicans.
Your easily conditioned, it's the noise and air pollution from these awful contraptions!
@@email6743 No on my own. Forced into conditioning as they’re doing to our kids in schools from early preschool up to college.
Just as the government is forcing media to control the narrative and condition the people.
I’m just making a comment on the story and relating it to todays construct.
I still mow my own yard and sweep up the clippings instead of blowing them into my neighbors yard or into the street.
They did this for the health of the community, including those who operate them. Get a clue.
@@claudacious9947 Then get rid of cars, trains, boats and all things that use petroleum products. That means everything. Do your research and get a clue. Everything uses petroleum products. There is now getting away from them. Electric cars driving down the street will still kick up dust as all moving things do. Banning blowers will make no difference.
@@myrrhavmGas leaf blowers are way louder than any other engine, and they’re used right next to people’s homes. And they pollute way more as well
thank you Pasadena, thank you!
That is good change....the ones the cleanup crew use here are 2 cycle....smoky, very loud, stinky, while they are blowing all the dirt, gravel under the rolling door , other doors too.... Watch across any parking lot while blowers are in action.....huge clouds of dust, carried by the wind ...right to your car and face ...
Exaclty, for a few leaves, blow crap all over the place. Makes complete sense 🤣

The only good thing ca has voted for
I'm moving to Pasadena
They have been banned in Los Angeles for decades already. But just like sleeping on the streets, the ban has never been enforced. So what is another ban going to do?
Good. Gas powered motors are so loud and annoying and scare the animals away
Thank god the city is enforcing it, it's polluting and terrible for the user breathing it in. Pasadena is not LA City, they actually come out and enforce their laws.
@MH-zg5yw it's not a ban on use, but sale. It won't do much right away but it's something.
I use my gas blower every day im still alive the dr hasn't said anything every check up
Check your lungs 😂
That's like a smoker saying they're "okay" and down the road they have a form of cancer. It may not show up right away.
@@claudacious9947 If I’m not mistaken, you can still buy gas lawn equipment out of state. Even when this ban is enforced starting next year.
I just bought one at walmart 🖕
