Kyle Dake has wrestled for 28 years and only made the Olympic team once. In Tokyo he was teched 11-0 in just the second round. Then the guy that waxed him was beaten by Sidakov. Neither of those guys are in Paris. This is finally Kyle Dake's chance to win an Olympic gold. The guy was an NCAA bad@$$! The US wrestling programs need to start freestyle a lot sooner. Folkstyle and freestyle are two different worlds. Ask Dake. Guys at this level are no joke.

A lot of the best Russians are wrestling for other countries (Tazhudinov, heavyweight Khabib, Zhamalov, Kadimagomedov and so on). Russian wrestling has been an old boys club for decades and their selection process isn’t open like in most countries. Taz couldn’t get a wrestle off against Sadulaev domestically so he had to switch countries to beat him internationally. I’d say half of Russia’s top talent right now is still in these Olympics.

@@historian3290 still wouldn't change the outcome of Japan having most golds because they compete in different weight classes. Japan dominates the lower weights and Russians in the 80kg+ weights. The Russians would definitely knock out most of the USA Men's Bronze and Silvers though.
The only medal that will be legitimate is 86 Brooks vs Yazdani, other division potentially could have been won by Dagestan wrestlers. Where's the consistency when Israel has killed more then Russia has but are still allowed to compete? Such a disgrace the Paris Olympics are.
