If you zoom into a state with a railway in it you can actually hear it go chuga chuga chuga chuga choo choo which I think justifies the 60 dollar price alone.

I think Ludi is in the safe, one of the main contributing factors to Great Irish famine was that farming in Ireland was focused on livestock and owned by landlords, which meant that the native tenant population was dependent on subsistance farming, which failed because of blight - in a sense Ludi actually prevented famine since he focused on crops farming.

I think for the commonwealth to work, they need to add a huge tech spread bonus if your master has a tech. The only reason britain falls so far behind france in the midgame is that all the british colonies have no tech because they are so poor. While France has direct control over all it's colonies so they have a huge advantage there. And also, the commonwealth almost never joins any wars the british join, only if britain gets targetet directly. A commonwealth system like in Hoi4 would be great, but i think the tech bonuses should be even greater, like it shouldn't take more than a few months to get a tech in canada that already is in the UK!

Is it just me or do rulers in this game live to much, casually going over 90 years is too much
The reason for not all of your troups engaging all of the enemy is the fact that in Vic3 troop are assigned to a front, they're not all gathered in the same spot wich means that when they engage only a part of each army fights. It also means that the army with the best technology will have better reconnaissance and speed qualities allowing them to chose their battles better(attacking a much inferior force for exemple). For example in 1859 the batlle of Solferino saw 330 000 soldiers from Sardinia-Piedmont France and Austria clash but the casualties only amount up to 28 000 men ( 40 000 if we count the captured soldiers) and that's because all forces on each side never all engage the enemy even if they are on the same battlefield. While the casualties might seem heavy 12% of the combatant's forces it's one of the first true industrial battle with more than 500 cannons on each side, the casualties are only heavy to the troops that actually fought th battle .

Attacker gets to use a portion of their committed troops against a portion of the defender's troops. The defender portion is larger, ratio-wise.
The reason why you are winning against China so hard is purely because of production methods you use vs their production methods. Your combat stats are better, but, more importantly, you are probably using field hospitals, which vastly increases Recovery Rate. Higher recover rate lets you maintain your battalions at full strength longer, and suffer fewer losses, so even if you're outnumbered, you're outlasting your opponent.
At least that's how I understand combat thus far. Tbh, it's not really much in terms of depth other than "just switch your barracks to the best production methods and then make sure you have enough resources for it".

The ai just decided to push and end the war and I passed migration control now I shall recover and put on greener grass campaign
The formula for units in battle is determined by terrain and infrastructure.
It's 5+(infrastructure/2)*terrain modifier.
There are a couple of mods that fix these issues, by allowing technologically backwards armies like China and Russia to just throw manpower at the frontlines and overwhelm smaller technologically superior armies at the cost of causalities.
I absolutely love Yorkshire tea because it comes from the Kenyan part of Yorkshire!

Hey ludi I would like to answer war question:
from what I understand is each general engages by itself but if you engage with small stack while there is massive army(as example if there are 300 regiment but you fight with 20) then what happens is you take WAAAY LITTLE LAND if you win that battle. I think encountering stacks are random
this means if you send bigger stacks you win more but if you don't send small stacks to defend you are taking the risk of losing 1 big land and thus losing massive chunk of land.
So... if you want to stall enemy send bunch of small stacks. If you want to hold the line properly send 1 massive army and it will crush everyone
note:All of this are observations and %75 chance wrong... I combined bunch of things I observed and read and it feels correct while I play. I need confirmation still :D

As was in defence war against France as Qing, France Units where superior, but I had 2000 battalions against French 150, I managed to stabilise the front, but I could not push the French out of Sindh. But what is even more absurd in one moment French left like 5 battalions against my 2000 in Sindh and I still could not push them out (BTW it was the first time that AI decided to pull out battalions out of my front to naval invade my capital). Even if French had 5 battalions of space marines in Sindh and I send 2 million Chinese peasants with sticks on them, at some point there would be more Chinese peasants coming for them than they could should out... I would be fine with with casualties 50:1, but I thinks 2000 batialions should be able to push out 5 battalions no matter the tech superiority.

On the other hand? Is there a supply mechanic in this game? Because only thing I saw was attrition (which as Qing I could ignore, but I do not know what is the optimal amount of troops)
@@Hadar1991 yeah if you fight overseas (seeing as you were in Sindh) then your troops rely on convoy transports of supply from your country. If France convoy raids you then your troops can't fight properly. So it's very very important to have a large navy that can protect the supply when fighting in colonies and such

@@Hadar1991 I'm not entirely sure. What you can do is click on one of your armies that are on the front at Sindh and it will say whether it receives supply via convoy routes, and on the same place it will also say if enough convoys are reaching the destination. And that little morale bar on your armies will also be the main way you can tell whether your soldiers are properly supplied and have recovered from any previous fighting.
For Canada i prefer finishing nationalism then confederate then annex them. One war but high chance I actually have to fight it

Ludi you should make an Austria video, I have a long playthrough on Austria and its quite good from the start, but I have one issue, when I try to enact multiculturalism or anything else except for national supremacy I just get a revolution.. Is there a way to fix this? Or am I doing the wrong thing maybe?
I love playing as austria. There are two ways to combat revolution - slowly decrease the power of aristocracy, or get many friends around you to help you with fighting the revolution.
@@michalooo3425 right now im trying to slowly decrease the power of the aristocracy, they are so annoying, but im doing really well in other places, i have opium and rubber colonies and im the richest mf in town :D

@@michalooo3425 i think the best place for rubber is western africa right? You could get some colonies there or annex some from another country, theres rubber in the benin area i think.
This game is so good as well, im so happy I got to play it on the first day of release and really grind it cuz im not that good at other paradox games, but since this one is new I get to learn it nicely and dont have to mess around with tutorials and shit
I managed to avoid civil war while banning slavery in the US by... putting kids in schools and giving women property rights. That offset the landowners enough that -20 from slavery ban didn't radicalize them. I didn't know the planters were cool like that.
