Thank you for the video, Alana. It was very informative. The wild asparagus we have in Italy is much, much thinner but extremely flavorful. Every Spring I see the older women from the village foraging. It's nice to see that you are carrying the tradition forward!
Two things I loved about this video - 1. The cute pic of ur daughter with the flowers u picked for her and 2. Showing us the male and female flowers and explaining about them, studied about em during school. Informative 👍🏻 thank you.
Good morning and Happy Sunday! Thank you very much for watching and for your lovely message...this made my day! Take care and enjoy the rest of the weekend! 🌻
Good morning! Thank you very much for watching and for your very kind message! I have so many lovely memories with my Mom and it is nice to share...she certainly was an angel on earth as she is in Heaven too! Take care and have a wonderful day! 🌺
I picked a bunch yesterday up here in Bergalnd, Ontario on a side road in the ditch. So tasty and satisying, foraging for wild asparagus, as you well know. No poison ivy just a lot of deer ticks this year so far, in that particular ditch. Your thoughtful gift of the Lilly of the Valley flowers for your daughter brought back fond memories, thankyou. Those werre impressive looking male asparagus plants at your last stop.
Hi there...thank you for sharing your fond memories gathering asparagus with your Dad! It reminds me of my Mom too ❤ Thank you for watching and I hope you have a great day!
Thanks for the video asparagus is awesome I always seized it a little bit and put it on a cookie Pan pee Pan and put it in the oven With a little Olive oil drizzles over it

Wow Alana again another awesome amazing video so very knowledgeable you definitely are amazing ………. Do you ever gather wild mint ???? Or do you grow your own….. we used to gather it as kids and dad would tie it up in bunches and hang it in the back kitchen just let it dry. Mom would use it mashed potatoes soups stews awesome flavour …. Oh and horseradish???? As well thank you again
Thank you David! I do gather wild mint...it grows everywhere along rivers and I like to grab some when I find it! It smells so nice and is lovely dried for tea! My Mom used to add mint to new potatoes when she dug them up...such a treat! I will have to try it in mashed potatoes and stew too! I love horseradish! I had a new plant but it got tilled up by accident, so my brother is going to give me some of his...we both love it!

Don’t ever buy asparagus from the store doesn’t even begin to compare to wild or what you can grow in your backyard. All the stuff I have ever gotten from the store was either super chewy, bitter, or both.
