Kings Indian defence is actually only played against the d4 & c4 combo. Against e4 this is typically referred to as the pirc or modern depending on which first move black makes. G6 is the modern and d6 is the pirc, with the modern typically avoiding bringing the knight out to f6. People will use “kings Indian setup” as an umbrella term for any setup resembling this, but there are important differences nonetheless
@@theawesomelogan6729 I am pretty new to the game (but pretty good for my lack of experience. Play tough computer games only. No human activity in my rural area.). I don't have a desire to remember the names of openings. It is just the moves I pay attention to, and I would not even know the names of the moves I do for an opening, (I am sure some are my own. lol). I find it interesting that their are names of openings, but not for the rest of the game where you are on your own. Now I have an opening to develop. March the rook pawns up the table as fast as you can, (maybe one if you just have to castle with a move), and free those very powerful rooks early in the game, (and unorthodox for competition confusion). I have not developed it at all, but I have won with it against tough computer games. They can get trapped pretty easy so be careful. But you change the game man,--and nobody will know what to do at your nest tourney final. Call it what ever you want. I don't care. :) Doug in Michigan
For the castle, I like to get my knight to f7 (for black in this case.). But that means 2 more moves. Pawn to f6 and knight to h6 before it can more to f7. But, I find it as great castle protection, (also offering different knight attacks as f7 is an unusual square to be on, but effective), and after the castle, I can march the F file pawn up and get my rook into the action. Great offense against white castling king side. It can be difficult to get those 2 moves in safely though.
"not the most flashy way to win" about sums it up. i'll never play this but i can also agree there's no obvious way to attack as white and it's also weird so i struggle against stuff i don't see
That’s a nice opening. I’ve always known it as the Kings Indian Defence.

What do I do when my opponent plays 3. c4 and 4. Nc3 and 5. f3 transposing to the Samisch variation?
Something makes me feel like your mouse is very heavy
anything else bother you ?
U R the best

You forgot to cover an early c4 from white.
nicee!
What about the h pawn flank attack?
This is one of those openings I get annoyed when my opponents play, even though I feel like it’s not that good
It isn't. Just trade off the fianchettoed bishop with your bishop and Queen, or build a pawn chain against it
But I love to play against kings indian.
KID AND PIRC
Pirc defence😂
